The Catacombs of Paris Part 3 contains 43 rooms and 168 mapped locations. A complete sweep includes 43 secret areas, 15 breakable walls, five relics, three weapons, two keepsakes, six Heart Fragments, 20 XP statues, three whole-meat pickups and two Mirrors of Life. The most important progression check is the Circle of Greed door: it opens only when all three required eyes are equipped, not merely stored in your inventory.

Use the room-by-room locations below with the Belmont’s Curse Atlas map (updated October 18, 2026). The map supports name search, linked region entrances, room passages and elevators, and separate displays for interiors and challenge rooms, making it more reliable than a single world-map view.

Catacombs of Paris Part 3 at a glance

The figures below are the current counts recorded for this edition of the area. Atlas totals are edition-specific and can change if a marker is corrected, so treat the October 18, 2026 Atlas update as the reference point for map coverage.

How to use the Catacombs map accurately

The map is most useful when you treat it as a room index rather than a promise of a continuous route. A marker can belong to an interior, a challenge room or a connected passage that is not visible at the same zoom level as the main chamber.

  1. Search by the exact room or item name. Use the map’s name-search field for terms such as Specter’s Whisper, Gungnir, Wise Heart Fragment or Mirror of Life. This is faster than panning across all 43 rooms.
  2. Match the room outline before moving. Compare the shape of your in-game room with the Atlas room shape and identify nearby Mirrors of Life, elevators or distinctive entrances. This prevents collecting a marker from a similarly shaped adjacent room.
  3. Open linked interiors separately. Interior and challenge rooms can be displayed as separate rooms. If a marker appears to vanish when you zoom out, switch to the separate-room view rather than assuming it is missing.
  4. Read dashed connections as relationships. The Atlas uses dashed links to show that rooms or regions are related; a dashed line is not a guarantee that you can walk directly along it. Confirm the actual door, elevator or passage in the game.
  5. Mark the room after collecting. Clear one room completely, including secret-area markers and breakable-wall indicators, before following a regional link. This keeps the 168-location list manageable and exposes any room that still has an unvisited branch.

Progression gates and the route to Mammon’s Lair

The Catacombs gate is controlled by three character keys and a separate three-eye lock. Both systems matter; carrying only one set does not open the way.

Collect the three character keys

Key Obtained from
The Fallen’s Key The Fallen
The Warrior’s Key Joan of Arc
The Prophetess’s Key Medusa

Bring all three keys to the Catacombs gate. If one is absent, the lock is a progression issue rather than a hidden-wall puzzle.

Retrieve and equip the three eyes

Eye Altar-room region
Thrilling Eye Paris Streets
Trembling Eye Holy Innocents’ Cemetery
Oozing Eye Catacombs
  1. Visit each listed altar room and claim its eye.
  2. Open your equipment screen and equip Thrilling Eye, Trembling Eye and Oozing Eye at the same time.
  3. Return to the Circle of Greed’s flesh-and-eyes door.
  4. Check the equipped slots if the door remains closed. Possessing all three in the inventory is not sufficient.

Once the eyes are simultaneously equipped, the entrance beyond the Circle of Greed door leads to Mammon’s Lair. This is the intended solution; repeatedly attacking the door or searching for another key will not replace the equipment requirement.

Named collectible locations

The following rooms contain the named weapons, relics, fragments and notable pickups identified for Part 3. Use the room names as search terms in the Atlas, then confirm the room silhouette in-game.

Catacomb Entrance

  • Specter’s Whisper: a relic in a chest inside a hidden passage.
  • Brave Heart Fragment: one of the area’s three Brave fragments.
  • XP statues: three statues are recorded in this room.

Look for the visual and audio signs of a concealed route before concluding that the relic chest is absent. The entrance room is also a useful place to establish the map’s scale and identify the nearest Mirror of Life.

Crossroads of the Dead

  • Pair of Longswords: in an ornate chest.
  • Whole meat: behind a breakable wall.
  • Secret areas: five are recorded in the room.

Clear the five secret-area markers together. If the Longswords chest is open but the room is not complete, inspect the breakable-wall route rather than assuming the weapon count represents every hidden object.

Charnel Galleries

  • Secret areas: three are recorded.
  • Shadow clue: hidden behind a breakable wall.

The Shadow clue is specifically associated with the breakable-wall marker. A normal corridor sweep will not reveal it.

Hall of the Fallen Angels

  • Whip: the room’s named weapon.
  • Wise Heart Fragment: one of the Catacombs’ three Wise fragments.

Record the Wise fragment separately from Brave fragments. Four matching fragments are required for one upgrade, so the three Wise fragments listed for this area are not, by themselves, a complete four-fragment upgrade set.

Collapsed Path of Orpheus

  • Gungnir: the room’s named weapon.
  • Ferryman’s Wharf: a fast-travel connection.

Use the Ferryman’s Wharf link as a transport landmark when planning a return sweep. It is a fast-travel point, not an additional weapon or relic.

Throat of Hell Ebony Claw

Antechamber of Sin Forsaken Ring

The fifth relic is Specter’s Whisper in the Catacomb Entrance, listed above. Wise Heart Fragments are also recorded in Chamber of Whispers and Throat of Hell, in addition to Hall of the Fallen Angels. The Atlas identifies two keepsakes in the area, but the available room notes do not assign names to those keepsakes; use the keepsake markers and room search to locate them rather than guessing from another region’s list.

How to clear all 43 secret areas

Secret-area progress is divided among four opening methods. The in-game tutorial states: Some secret areas are hidden behind walls. Look out for the visual and audio clues. That warning applies to more than ordinary doors; a room can look complete while a concealed wall or floor still contains a marker.

Hidden passages

Search walls that show unusual visual seams, masonry changes or other environmental irregularities, and listen for the audio cue described by the tutorial. The Specter’s Whisper chest is the clearest named example: it sits in a hidden passage rather than in the visible entrance hall.

Breakable walls

There are 15 breakable walls in the area. Crossroads of the Dead uses one to hide whole meat, Charnel Galleries uses one for the Shadow clue, and other walls account for additional secret-area markers. When a wall marker remains, test the entire face of the wall instead of striking only the most obvious crack.

Lever gates

Some secret areas open through a lever-controlled gate. If a marker is visible behind bars, search the surrounding room and its connected ledges for the lever before spending time on wall attacks. The map’s linked passage view helps identify whether the lever is in a separate adjoining room.

Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania Edition (PS5)
  • 17 Levels - Each one with its own atmosphere, foes and secrets to discover
  • 5 Bosses - Made by the most sadistic of the devs, raised on the salt of the testers
  • 150 or so weapons and skills - Spears, swords, bows, magic spells, shields, pets, frying pans etc; You name it, we got it

  • Battle through the corridors of Dracula’s Castle; Wield weapons against monsters to reach the throne room of the Dark Lord

Smash floors and Stomp power

Smash floors require the appropriate downward attack. The tutorial explains that Stomp power depends on falling distance and that a longer fall can break thicker objects. If a floor survives a short drop, reposition above it and try again from greater height rather than assuming the marker is wrong.

A reliable cleanup order

  1. Finish visible chests and pickups in the current room.
  2. Check every map marker labeled as a secret area.
  3. Test nearby suspicious walls and floors using the correct opening method.
  4. Activate any lever before leaving the connected room.
  5. Revisit the room after gaining a stronger Stomp or other required ability if the object is visibly thicker than earlier breakable surfaces.

This order prevents a common mistake: counting a room as complete because its main chest is collected while a secret-area marker remains in an interior or challenge-room layer.

Mirrors of Life and the Death’s Altar of Bones unlock

The Catacombs contain two Mirrors of Life, while nine Mirrors of Life across Paris, Holy Innocents’ Cemetery and the Catacombs become usable after the Death’s Altar of Bones encounter. The encounter unlocks the mirror passages globally, but it does not activate every mirror automatically.

  1. Complete the Death’s Altar of Bones encounter.
  2. Return to each of the nine mirror locations shown on the regional map.
  3. Interact with every mirror individually; an unlocked passage can still remain inactive until this interaction is performed.
  4. Use the two Catacombs mirrors as local checkpoints while finishing nearby secret areas and relic rooms.

If a mirror passage appears available on the map but does not transport you, verify that you personally activated that mirror after the altar encounter.

A practical room-sweep route

There is no requirement to collect the area in one fixed sequence, but the following sweep minimizes backtracking while preserving the progression checks.

Castlevania Dominus Collection (Limited Run #251) Order of Ecclesia Cover Art – Nintendo Switch
  • LIMITED EDITION: Official Limited Run Games release #251 of the Castlevania Dominus Collection featuring Order of Ecclesia cover art for Nintendo Switch
  • GAME FORMAT: Physical DVD-ROM release, not a digital download, packaged in standard Nintendo Switch game case
  • CONTENT: Action-packed collection of classic Castlevania games, rated T for Teen by ESRB
  • PACKAGING DIMENSIONS: Comes in standard Switch case measuring 6 inches high, 3 inches wide, and 2 inches deep
  • REGION AND LANGUAGE: US release with English language support, compatible with Nintendo Switch systems
  1. Start at Catacomb Entrance. Take Specter’s Whisper, the Brave Heart Fragment and the three XP statues, then inspect the hidden-passage marker before moving on.
  2. Move through Crossroads of the Dead. Open the ornate chest containing the Pair of Longswords, clear its five secret areas and break the wall hiding whole meat.
  3. Clear Charnel Galleries. Resolve all three secret areas and break the wall containing the Shadow clue.
  4. Continue to Hall of the Fallen Angels. Collect the Whip and Wise Heart Fragment, then confirm that no interior marker remains.
  5. Use the connected passages toward the named relic rooms. Search Throat of Hell, Jaws of Limbo, Path of the Abyss and Antechamber of Sin for Ebony Claw, Necro Charm, Mourning Bead and Forsaken Ring.
  6. Finish Collapsed Path of Orpheus. Take Gungnir and activate Ferryman’s Wharf as a fast-travel reference.
  7. Return after ability upgrades. Recheck Smash floors, thicker breakable objects, lever gates and any marker shown in a separate interior layer.

This is a cleanup order, not a claim that every room is reachable at the same story moment. If a door is locked, note its map marker and return after the relevant key, eye equipment or ability becomes available.

Common map and collectible problems

“The map says the room is complete, but my counter is short.”

Switch from the world view to the separate-room display. Interiors and challenge rooms can be collapsed on the main map, and their markers may not be obvious until opened as independent rooms.

“A dashed line leads to a room I cannot walk to.”

Dashed Atlas links show a relationship, not a guaranteed walking route. Look for the actual elevator, passage, fast-travel point or regional entrance shown elsewhere in the room data.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

“The Circle of Greed door will not open.”

Confirm the three character keys are collected, then check that Thrilling Eye, Trembling Eye and Oozing Eye are all equipped simultaneously. Inventory possession without equipment does not satisfy the lock.

“I cannot break the floor or wall.”

Identify the opening method first. A lever gate needs its lever, a Smash floor needs a downward attack, and thicker breakables may require a longer Stomp fall. Revisit after increasing the relevant ability rather than repeatedly using a weak attack.

“A Mirror of Life is visible but inactive.”

Complete Death’s Altar of Bones, then interact with that mirror itself. The altar unlocks the network but does not perform the individual activations.

Game and edition context

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse released on October 15, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch. Evil Empire developed the game and Konami published it. The collectible totals in this guide describe the Catacombs of Paris Part 3 data available in the October 18, 2026 Atlas update; later corrections or platform-specific map changes could alter marker counts without changing the underlying progression requirements.
