CapitalOS announced a $21.9 million Series A on October 21, 2026. LGVP led the round, with WEX Venture Capital, Group11, Great North Ventures, Night Capital and existing investors participating. The company says it will use the financing to scale infrastructure that lets vertical software platforms offer branded cards, expense management, wallets, bill payment and payment collection to their business customers.

CapitalOS sells that infrastructure to software platforms rather than operating a standalone consumer banking app. It handles much of the financial-system work—such as underwriting, compliance, fraud controls, capital and payment operations—while the platform keeps its customer relationship and user experience.

What happened in CapitalOS’s Series A?

CapitalOS raised $21.9 million in Series A funding announced October 21, 2026. LGVP was the lead investor. WEX Venture Capital, Group11, Great North Ventures, Night Capital and existing backers also joined the financing. The announcement did not disclose a valuation.

CapitalOS says the new capital will materially expand the embedded-finance platform it has already built. The company was founded by Nir Dremer and Matan Goldschmidt. The funding release identifies Dremer as a former general manager at Stripe and Tipalti, and Goldschmidt as a product builder who joined Lyft through an acquisition.

“Vertical SaaS & AI platforms are experts in their domains, not building payments infrastructure,” Dremer said. “Our goal is to build the best financial infrastructure so any platform company can offer their end customers world class financial products.”

What is CapitalOS, and who is it for?

CapitalOS is an embedded-finance and money-orchestration layer for vertical software-as-a-service companies and other business-to-business platforms. A vertical SaaS product is software built for a particular industry—such as property management, field services or contractor operations—rather than a general-purpose accounting or banking product.

The platform is designed for a software company that wants financial tools to appear inside its own workflow and branding. Instead of separately assembling bank relationships, card processing, lending, compliance systems, fraud monitoring and reconciliation, the platform can delegate those functions to CapitalOS while retaining control of its software experience and customer context.

That makes the primary buyer the software platform. Small and midsize businesses may use the resulting cards or bill-pay workflows, but they encounter those products through the vertical software they already use.

Which financial products does CapitalOS provide?

CapitalOS describes four core financial primitives—bills, cards, wallets and receivables—and its product page lists the following offerings:

Product What it enables inside a software platform
Credit cards Issue branded business cards for controlled spending and payments.
Balance cards Provide cards linked to an available balance rather than a traditional revolving-credit model.
Expense management Capture and organize business spending as part of the platform’s existing workflow.
Business wallets Offer stored-value or account-like money movement within the platform experience.
Bill pay (accounts payable) Help customers manage and pay supplier invoices.
Payment collection (accounts receivable) Give businesses tools to collect money from their own customers.

CapitalOS positions the abstraction layer as a way for a platform to keep its workflow, customer relationship, data model and brand while outsourcing the financial-system complexity beneath them.

How does CapitalOS handle the operational work?

The company says its infrastructure covers the regulated and operational layers that commonly make financial products difficult for software companies to launch.

  • Issuing and payment infrastructure: card issuance, BIN sponsorship, issuer and processor relationships, and bank partnerships.
  • Verification and compliance: know-your-business and know-your-customer checks, Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money-laundering controls, sanctions screening and transaction monitoring.
  • Credit and risk: lending licenses, credit underwriting, fraud prevention, collections and ongoing risk decisions.
  • Financial operations: capital management, reconciliation-related processes and support.

CapitalOS also describes specialized agents for underwriting, capital, compliance, risk and fraud, and customer support. Its distribution model is that the vertical platform contributes industry context and access to customers, while CapitalOS supplies financial judgment and execution.

Guesty’s Head of Business Programs Operations, Jonathan Ferber, said CapitalOS provided infrastructure to launch a card product directly inside users’ daily operations. Beam CEO Adam Eagle said contractors save 5–8 hours per week on expense tracking; that is a customer statement, not an independently measured result.

How can a software platform integrate CapitalOS?

CapitalOS offers three integration patterns. The timelines below are company-stated targets, not independently tested benchmarks.

  1. Turnkey managed experience: use a fully managed subdomain for the fastest launch path. CapitalOS says this option can go live in hours.
  2. Embedded application: place a CapitalOS-powered app inside the existing product with one API call. The company says embedded apps can launch in days.
  3. Custom build: use SDKs, APIs and modular components to create a workflow tailored to the platform’s product and data model. CapitalOS says custom work can take weeks.

The appropriate path depends on how much control the platform needs over interface, data flows, approval logic and customer support. A managed subdomain reduces implementation work; APIs and SDKs provide more control but require greater engineering and operational ownership.

What traction has CapitalOS reported?

Public announcements use different formulations for growth, so the figures should not be merged into one precise rate.

Reported figure Attribution and period
More than 20× volume growth over 18 months CapitalOS, 2026 funding announcement
1,000% transaction-volume growth over 18 months Venture Capital Access Online funding release, 2026
More than 25,000 cards and dozens of B2B platforms Venture Capital Access Online funding release, 2026
Billions in transaction volume CapitalOS public financing announcement, 2026

These are company or announcement figures rather than an independently audited performance comparison. The releases establish reported scale, but they do not provide a standardized definition of volume, a cohort breakdown or a competitor benchmark.

Is CapitalOS a bank?

No. CapitalOS explicitly describes itself as a financial technology and lending company, not a bank. Its required disclosure states: “CapitalOS is a financial technology and lending company and not a bank. All users are subject to verification and underwriting approval. Cards issued by First Internet Bank of Indiana, pursuant to a license from Visa, Inc.”

That distinction matters because approval is not automatic, and the bank, card-network and regulatory relationships remain part of the underlying program even when the customer experience is embedded in another company’s software.

What should a platform evaluate before adopting an embedded-finance provider?

A platform considering CapitalOS or another provider should assess the complete operating model, not just the visible card or bill-pay interface.

  • Product breadth: confirm whether the program needs cards, accounts-payable bill pay, wallets, accounts-receivable collection or several of them.
  • Integration control: compare a managed subdomain with an embedded app or a fully custom API and SDK implementation.
  • Risk ownership: clarify who sets underwriting policy, handles fraud decisions, manages collections and absorbs losses.
  • Compliance coverage: map responsibility for KYB/KYC, BSA/AML, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring and licensing.
  • Bank and capital structure: identify the issuing bank, processor, BIN sponsor and source of lending or payment capital.
  • Customer and data control: define which company owns the customer relationship, support process, data model and consent flows.
  • Commercial terms: obtain pricing, revenue-share, reserve and minimum-volume terms directly; the public announcements do not state them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does BIN sponsorship mean in a card program?

A bank or other qualified issuer sponsors the bank-identification-number range under which cards are issued. The sponsor relationship connects the program to network rules, settlement and regulatory responsibilities even when another company supplies the software layer.

Are CapitalOS’s growth numbers audited?

The public figures are attributed to CapitalOS or a funding-release publisher and are presented as reported company traction. The announcements do not describe an independent audit or a common methodology reconciling the different growth percentages.

Can a vertical SaaS company use CapitalOS without building a card interface?

Yes. The managed-subdomain option is intended for a platform that wants a faster launch with less front-end implementation. Platforms needing a native experience can instead use the embedded-app or custom API and SDK paths.

What does “vertical SaaS” mean for an SMB customer?

It means the software is tailored to a specific trade or industry, so financial actions can be tied to that sector’s jobs, invoices, vendors or customers. The embedded model puts those actions in the same workflow rather than sending the business to a separate banking portal.
