The exact game title Don Bradman Cricket Jr cannot be confirmed from the official Steam listings checked. The two identifiable PC games are Don Bradman Cricket 17 and Don Bradman Cricket 14. Confirm the year shown on your store page, the game’s executable name, or the edition printed on your key before comparing hardware.
Once you identify the edition, use Windows’ DirectX Diagnostic Tool (dxdiag) to check your operating system, processor, memory, graphics adapter and DirectX version, then compare those values with the matching table below. Both Steam listings require broadband internet and a controller; Cricket 17 explicitly labels this requirement “Controller Required.”
First, identify which Don Bradman Cricket game you own
Do not assume that “Jr” is an official edition name. The title was not confirmed in the Steam results reviewed, so applying Cricket 14 or Cricket 17 specifications to an unverified product could give you the wrong answer.
Check the year and executable
- Open the game’s store page and look for Don Bradman Cricket 14 or Don Bradman Cricket 17.

Cricket 17 is the heavier of the two identified editions: its minimum memory is 4 GB and its listed storage requirement is 11 GB.

Cricket 14 has a substantially smaller listed footprint than Cricket 17: 2 GB of minimum storage instead of 11 GB and 2 GB of minimum RAM instead of 4 GB.
How to check your Windows PC
You can collect the required information with built-in Windows tools. Run these checks before buying or installing the game.
1. Open DirectX Diagnostic Tool
- Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type
dxdiagand press Enter. - If Windows asks whether it should check whether your drivers are digitally signed, choose the option to proceed.
The System tab displays the Windows version, system type, processor, memory and DirectX version. Record the exact wording rather than only the manufacturer name.

2. Check the operating system
For Cricket 17, the system must be a 64-bit edition of Windows 7 or later according to Steam. In dxdiag, look for the operating-system entry and the system type. A 32-bit Windows installation does not meet that published requirement, even if the processor itself is capable of 64-bit operation.
Cricket 14’s listing names Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8. Those are the operating systems stated by the listing; it does not establish compatibility with every later Windows release. If you are running a newer version of Windows, check the game’s current store information and be prepared for compatibility issues that the old listing does not address.
3. Compare the processor
In the System tab, read the processor model and compare it with the corresponding minimum row. The comparison is by model and generation, not by clock speed alone. A processor with a higher advertised GHz number is not automatically equivalent to one of the named Intel or AMD chips.
If your processor is below the minimum model, the listing gives no assurance that the game will launch reliably. If it is at or above minimum but below the recommended example, you may be eligible to run the game without having the headroom implied by the recommended configuration.
4. Check installed RAM
The same tab reports installed memory. Cricket 17 lists 4 GB minimum and 8 GB recommended. Cricket 14 lists 2 GB minimum and 4 GB recommended. Windows and other running programs also consume memory, so meeting a minimum number on paper does not guarantee that enough memory will remain available during play.
5. Identify the graphics adapter and video memory
- In
dxdiag, open the Display or Render tab. The exact tab name varies by Windows version and driver. - Read the adapter name and the displayed graphics memory.
- Compare the adapter with the edition’s named Radeon or GeForce minimum and recommended examples.
The tables specify video-memory floors of 1 GB for the minimum graphics entries and 2 GB for the recommended entries. The Steam listings do not provide a general rule that every integrated GPU is supported. If your PC uses only Intel integrated graphics or another adapter not represented by the listed examples, compatibility is not established by these requirements.

6. Confirm the DirectX version
dxdiag reports the installed DirectX version on the System tab. Cricket 17 lists DirectX 11 at minimum and DirectX 12 as recommended. Cricket 14 lists DirectX 9.0c for both minimum and recommended configurations. A newer DirectX version in Windows does not by itself prove that every older game component or driver will work; the processor and graphics adapter still need to meet the relevant table.
7. Check free storage
Open File Explorer, select the drive where you plan to install the game, and choose Properties. Cricket 17 requires 11 GB of available storage in its minimum listing; Cricket 14 requires 2 GB. Leave additional room for Windows, downloads and updates instead of treating the published figure as a complete drive-capacity recommendation.
8. Verify internet and controller access
Both listings include broadband internet. Cricket 17 explicitly says “Controller Required,” and Cricket 14 also lists a controller requirement. Check that you have a working internet connection for the store or launcher and a Windows-compatible controller before purchase.

The published requirements name discrete Radeon and GeForce adapters rather than promising support for integrated graphics. Therefore, a PC without a separate graphics card is not confirmed compatible merely because it has enough RAM or a recent CPU.
Use the exact adapter name from dxdiag. Compare it with the appropriate minimum examples: HD 6670 or GT 710 for Cricket 17, and HD 6670 or GT 520 for Cricket 14. For a larger margin, compare with the recommended R9 270 or GTX 770 for Cricket 17, or HD 7790 or GTX 650 for Cricket 14. The requirement tables do not state a target resolution, frame rate or graphics preset, so meeting the recommended entries still does not come with a published performance guarantee.
Can you play with a keyboard?
Do not plan on keyboard-only play. Cricket 17’s Steam listing uses the exact note “Controller Required,” and Cricket 14 also requires a controller. The listings do not promise that keyboard controls can replace one.

A USB PC game controller that Windows recognizes is the most direct way to satisfy the stated requirement. The available specifications do not name a particular controller model, connection standard beyond the requirement itself, button layout or console adapter, so no specific brand or model can be guaranteed from these listings.

What “minimum” and “recommended” mean
Minimum is an eligibility threshold
A PC that meets every minimum row has the configuration Steam identifies for the game, but that is not a promise of a particular frame rate, resolution, loading time or visual preset. Steam does not state a target frame rate or test conditions alongside these figures.
Recommended is not a published performance guarantee
The recommended rows provide stronger example CPUs, more RAM and more capable graphics adapters, but the listings still do not define a measured frame-rate target. Treat them as a safer hardware class rather than a guarantee of a specific experience.
Every required category matters
Passing the graphics check does not compensate for an unsupported operating system, insufficient storage or the absence of a controller. Evaluate the operating system, CPU, memory, GPU, video memory, DirectX, storage, internet and controller requirement as separate checks.

- Identify whether your product is Cricket 14 or Cricket 17; do not use the unverified “Jr” name as the edition.
- Run
dxdiagand record the operating system, system type, CPU, RAM, graphics adapter and DirectX version. - Check free space on the intended installation drive.
- Compare each recorded value with the matching minimum table, not with the other edition’s table.
- Confirm that broadband internet is available.
- Confirm that you have a Windows-compatible controller, because the listings require one.
- If any minimum category fails, do not treat the PC as confirmed compatible. If every category passes, understand that launch eligibility still does not specify a frame rate or resolution.
Common mismatches and what they mean
The store says “Jr,” but the requirements say Cricket 14 or 17
Stop and verify the product identity. A similarly named title may have different files and hardware requirements. Use the year, executable or official store page to resolve the mismatch before installing.
Your PC has enough RAM but the wrong GPU
Memory alone cannot establish graphics compatibility. Recheck the adapter and video-memory fields in dxdiag against the GPU row for your edition.

Your GPU meets the example, but DirectX does not
Check the DirectX version reported by dxdiag and the edition-specific requirement. Cricket 17 and Cricket 14 list different DirectX generations, so do not substitute one table for the other.
You have a keyboard but no controller
That does not satisfy the published requirement. Obtain a Windows-compatible controller before relying on the game being playable.
The drive has exactly the listed space
The listing’s number is the stated available-storage minimum, not a recommendation to leave the drive full. Free additional space for the operating system, launcher files and updates.

Based solely on the published minimums, Cricket 14 is the less demanding target: it lists 2 GB RAM and 2 GB storage, while Cricket 17 lists 4 GB RAM and 11 GB storage. Cricket 14 also lists older processor and DirectX requirements. That comparison does not prove that a particular computer will run Cricket 14, because the CPU, GPU, operating-system and controller checks still apply.
Final decision
If your product is actually Cricket 17, require 64-bit Windows 7 or later, at least the listed i3-3210/Athlon II X4 555-class CPU, 4 GB RAM, a listed 1 GB graphics adapter, DirectX 11, 11 GB free storage, broadband internet and a controller. If it is Cricket 14, use its separate Windows, CPU, memory, GPU, DirectX 9.0c and 2 GB storage thresholds. If the product is genuinely called “Don Bradman Cricket Jr,” verify its official listing first; neither table should be presented as confirmed specifications for that unverified title.
