Yes—supported Samsung Galaxy tablets can show the Home screen in landscape. First set the tablet’s orientation to Auto rotate in Quick settings, then turn it sideways. The available Home screen controls depend on the tablet model, region and software version: Samsung’s US rotation guide says its Home screen rotation option is not available on tablets, while Samsung UK says Galaxy tablets running One UI 7 support separate portrait and landscape Home screen layouts.
Turn on Auto rotate and test the Home screen

Swipe down from the top of the screen to open Quick settings. Find the orientation control. If it is set to Portrait or Landscape, tap it to change to Auto rotate. Portrait and Landscape lock the display to that orientation; Auto rotate lets it respond to how you hold the tablet. See Samsung’s screen-rotation instructions.

Turn the tablet sideways and check the Home screen. Also test an app that you know supports landscape; an app designed for one orientation may remain fixed even when Auto rotate is on.

If the Auto rotate control is missing, Samsung says it may have been removed from Quick settings. Use the panel’s edit controls to add it again. The exact steps can vary by software version.

Why the Home screen toggle may not be there
Samsung’s US rotation guide describes additional options reached by touching and holding Auto rotate, but says the Home screen option in those instructions is not available on tablets. Samsung’s broader Home screen guidance shows a “Rotate to landscape mode” control, but that does not establish that the control is available on every tablet. Check the tablet’s own Quick settings and Home screen settings rather than relying on a phone-specific path.
Samsung UK’s tablet-specific guidance says Galaxy tablets support optimized Home screen layouts for portrait and landscape modes starting with One UI 7. The page, updated 18 August 2025, explains that separate arrangements can include different grids and widget positions or sizes. If rotation works but the layout looks wrong
On a tablet with the One UI 7 layout feature, open the tablet’s Home screen settings and review the portrait and landscape arrangements. Check the grid and the placement and size of widgets in each orientation; the two layouts can differ. This is the relevant setting to investigate when the Home screen rotates but its icons or widgets have awkward spacing.
If the screen still will not rotate

Auto rotate is off: Change the Quick settings control from Portrait or Landscape to Auto rotate, then turn the tablet.

Only one app stays in portrait or landscape: The app may not support both orientations. That alone does not indicate a tablet fault.

No expected screen rotates: Recheck the orientation control, install any available software update and restart the tablet. Samsung lists these steps in its screen-rotation troubleshooting guidance.

The problem continues or the tablet is damaged: Physical damage can affect performance. Samsung recommends seeking service for a damaged device; the cited guidance does not identify a specific cause for an individual tablet’s rotation failure.
What to check before looking for exact menu steps
Samsung’s instructions do not establish one universal Home screen toggle path for all Galaxy tablets. The precise options depend on the tablet model, region and software version. If the paths above do not match your device, check its model and One UI version before following instructions written for a different tablet or for a phone.
