- Register for a ShrinkTheWeb account, then retrieve the account’s Access key and Secret key.
- Enter both credentials in the ShrinkTheWeb configuration in Drupal.
- Choose where Drupal caches generated thumbnails and how many days a cached image remains unchanged before it can be refreshed.
- Use the integration’s field formatter or render-array support to display the screenshot where needed.
- Set supported capture parameters if required. The guide’s advanced example includes output width, full-length capture, maximum height, browser viewport dimensions, a delay after page load, and image quality.
The guide says a basic request captures the homepage unless the account has the “Inside Pages” upgrade; some other options also depend on an upgraded account. These are statements in the historical guide, not confirmation of current plan terms or API behavior. Verify both with ShrinkTheWeb before building around them.
Can ShrinkTheWeb notify you when a site changes?
Not on the evidence of these materials. A “Notification Callback” reference is not enough to conclude that ShrinkTheWeb performs image comparison or emits a callback specifically when page appearance changes. Likewise, “Refresh ALL” indicates a refresh operation, not necessarily a detected change.

To call a workflow visual monitoring, it needs to capture the same pages repeatedly, compare the resulting images, and make a comparison result available—ideally with a way to notify you. Confirm that ShrinkTheWeb currently documents those capabilities before attributing them to the service. If it does not, the documented Drupal integration alone is insufficient; a separate, verified comparison and alert workflow would be needed. No particular scheduler, alert channel, or comparison tool is established by the cited materials.
