Yes. You can use Apple Music on a Chromebook either by installing Apple’s Android app from Google Play, if your Chromebook supports Android apps and Play Store access is allowed, or by streaming at music.apple.com. The app is not available through this route on every Chromebook, and school- or work-managed devices may have downloads restricted.
Option 1: Install the Apple Music Android app
Apple’s guidance includes Chromebooks that support Android apps: open Google Play, find Apple Music, and install it. If you already subscribe, sign in with your Apple Account. Apple’s Android 5.0 Lollipop-or-later requirement applies to Android phones and tablets; for a Chromebook, Apple specifies support for Android apps rather than that phone-and-tablet version requirement. Google notes that Android app availability varies by Chromebook. Its Chromebook app guidance explains that some models support apps through the Play Store, while work or school administrators may prevent users from adding the Play Store or downloading Android apps.
Option 2: Stream Apple Music on the web
If your Chromebook does not support Android apps, or the Play Store is unavailable, try Apple Music in a browser at music.apple.com. Google lists Apple Music among the services that can be streamed on websites in its guide to playing music on a Chromebook.

The available guidance confirms web playback but does not establish that the web player and Android app offer identical features or perform equally on every Chromebook. Choose the route that is available on your device and fits the interface you prefer.

Google Play’s Apple Music listing identifies Chromebook among its device categories and warns that some features may not be available. It does not specify which features are unavailable on Chromebook, so do not assume full feature parity. The listing showed an update date of August 18, 2026, when accessed September 28, 2026, and store details can change: Apple Music on Google Play.

What to check on a school or work Chromebook
- Open the Play Store and search for Apple Music. If the store is unavailable, app installation may not be supported on your model or may be restricted by your organization.
- If the Play Store or download is blocked, ask your school or workplace administrator whether the app is permitted. Do not try to bypass device policies.
- If browser access is allowed, try music.apple.com as the web route.
Using Chromebook media controls
ChromeOS Quick Settings can pause, play, or skip music playing from the web or a music app, according to Google’s Chromebook music help. This provides basic playback controls; it does not change which Apple Music features are available in the app or browser.
