Use a cloud streaming service that uploads or stores your prerecorded lectures and sends them to YouTube as a live encoder feed. Once the stream is running, the provider’s cloud infrastructure handles playback and transmission, so your computer and home internet connection do not have to stay on. This is a provider-described workflow, not a guarantee of uninterrupted service.
How to stream prerecorded lectures on YouTube 24/7 without a PC
The no-PC approach is a cloud encoder: you provide lecture files or a playlist, connect the service to your YouTube channel, and start the broadcast. You may still use a computer to prepare files or configure the service, but it does not have to remain part of the live broadcast path.
- Check YouTube eligibility. YouTube says your channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Review the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.
- Confirm rights and policy compliance. Make sure you have the necessary rights to the lectures, slides, music, and any other included material. YouTube states: “All content in live streams must adhere to our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.” A cloud provider does not grant content rights.
- Choose a cloud service that fits the schedule. Check playlist and looping controls, the maximum continuous broadcast duration, upload or storage limits, interruption recovery, archive behavior, and current availability. “24/7” may describe continuous playback without meaning unlimited scheduling or a guaranteed archive.
- Connect YouTube using the provider’s current method. Vendor workflows may use Google authorization or a stream key. If you use a stream key, treat it like a password: do not share or publish it, and follow the service’s current security instructions.
- Upload the recordings, arrange the playlist, and start a test broadcast. Confirm that playback advances and loops as intended. Check how the service behaves after an interruption and whether scheduled restarts or a maximum run duration affect your plan.
- Monitor the live event in YouTube Studio. Verify that YouTube receives the broadcast and that the correct event is live. YouTube supports encoder-based live streaming, but its setup guidance does not promise that every prerecorded 24/7 format will be allowed or monetized.
Choose between a local encoder and a cloud service
| Approach | What must stay running | Best fit | Trade-offs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local encoder | A computer or dedicated encoder and a stable local internet connection | Operators who want direct control and already have suitable equipment | Power use, local upload reliability, encoding setup, and restart monitoring |
| Cloud encoder | Provider infrastructure after media upload and stream start | Operators who do not want a PC or home connection in the broadcast path | Plan cost, duration caps, playlist controls, outage handling, archive behavior, connection method, and service availability |
YouTube lists encoder streaming as a supported method; the exact local setup depends on the encoder you choose. A cloud workflow shifts playback and transmission to the service provider, but service-specific limits still matter.
Cloud service options and limits to check
Among options described for prerecorded YouTube streaming, StreamNeo comes first: it keeps an uploaded playlist running from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.

Those are provider descriptions, not independent uptime measurements. Confirm current pricing, availability, maximum duration, recovery behavior, and archive handling directly with any service before relying on it for a continuous channel.
Copyright, YouTube rules, and monetization
A continuous stream does not exempt lecture content from YouTube’s rules. Obtain permission for material you did not create or otherwise have rights to use, including embedded music and visual materials, and review YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service before broadcasting.

Streaming continuously also does not guarantee monetization. YouTube’s monetization policy expects original, authentic content and says repetitive or mass-produced material may be ineligible. In its policy update dated July 15, 2025, YouTube clarified its “inauthentic content” wording, stating: “This type of content has always been ineligible for monetization under our existing policies, where creators are rewarded for original and authentic content.” Whether a particular lecture channel qualifies is a channel-specific decision; a streaming provider cannot promise approval.
Common problems and what to check
- The broadcast will not start: Recheck channel verification and live-stream eligibility, then confirm the provider is connected to the intended YouTube channel and event.
- YouTube is not receiving the stream: Check the service’s connection status and, if using a stream key, verify that the correct key is configured. Do not expose the key publicly.
- The playlist stops or reaches an end: Confirm that looping is enabled and that the service’s duration limit or schedule has not been reached. OneStream Live, for example, documents a 30-day maximum for its 24/7 feature.
- The stream drops: Check the provider’s documented reconnection or recovery behavior and whether the broadcast needs to be restarted. Do not assume every service will recover in the same way.
- A lecture contains material you cannot use: Remove or replace it, or obtain the necessary rights before continuing. Cloud hosting does not change copyright obligations.
- The channel is not monetized: Review YouTube’s originality and inauthentic-content policy. Continuous playback alone does not establish that a channel or its videos meet monetization requirements.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload your recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud keeps the uploaded videos looping, so nothing has to stay on at home. Every quality up to 4K 60fps streams as uploaded at one price per slot; StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and the monthly option is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for YouTube streams of uploaded videos, not camera broadcasts. See StreamNeo, or start the free day.
