What Microlink does when you request a screenshot
Microlink’s screenshot flow opens the target URL in a headless browser, renders the page, captures the current viewport or a requested full-page image, stores the image on a CDN, and returns asset information. The guide documents a screenshot option that can be a boolean or an options object, including settings for full-page capture and image type. See Microlink’s screenshot guide.
This is a capture operation, not proof that the browser reached the site’s intended content. A screenshot records what the browser received. If the site serves a challenge instead, the resulting image may be of that challenge page. That conclusion follows from the documented capture flow and Microlink’s distinction between detecting protection and solving it; the sources do not report a test against a named Indian government site.
What Microlink documents about CAPTCHA and bot protection
Microlink’s API page describes antibot detection and proxy resolution as Pro features. It says that on the free endpoint, requests encountering detected antibot protection return EPROXYNEEDED; Pro routes blocked requests through a proxy automatically. Its separate antibot detection documentation says the detector can identify CAPTCHA and bot-protection providers, but does not solve their challenges.

Proxy routing changes how a request is routed; Microlink’s documentation does not say it completes a CAPTCHA or guarantees that the target site will serve the requested page. Does this work on Indian government websites?
There is no universal answer based on a country or domain type. The result depends on the individual portal’s protections and what it serves to Microlink’s browser at request time. The available Microlink sources do not identify a tested Indian government portal, CAPTCHA provider, or success rate. So it would be inaccurate to say Microlink has been shown to pass a particular Indian government CAPTCHA—or that it always fails.

If you are evaluating a portal you are permitted to access, check the actual response: did the screenshot contain the requested page, a challenge, or an error? Do not treat proxy routing as authorization to access a restricted page or as permission to bypass its controls.
Microlink’s free allowance
Microlink’s current screenshot guide states an allowance of 25 free requests per day. This is a vendor-stated limit and may change; confirm the current terms on its screenshot page before relying on it. The allowance does not imply a CAPTCHA pass or a particular result on a government portal.
