Firefox’s “Save full page” option captures the page, but images the site has not loaded may still be blank. Scroll through the page first, wait for the images to appear, then capture it.
Why a full-page screenshot can still miss images
Firefox can capture a visible area or a full page. Those are capture choices, not a guarantee that the page has loaded every image. Many sites defer image requests until an image approaches the viewport. A screenshot can span the document’s full height even when images farther down were never requested or rendered.
In a historical Mozilla Bugzilla discussion, contributors explained that screenshot painting did not itself trigger the asynchronous loading behavior associated with loading="lazy". That discussion helps explain the issue, but it is not a guarantee about every current Firefox version or website. Mozilla Bugzilla discussion of lazy-loaded images.
How to capture lazy-loaded images with Firefox
- Open the page and scroll steadily from the top to the bottom. Pause as needed so images near the viewport have time to load.
- Check the parts of the page where images were missing or expected. Continue waiting or scrolling until the images actually appear.
- Return to the desired start position if needed. Open Firefox Screenshots and choose Save full page. Choose Save visible only if you want the current viewport rather than the whole page.
Mozilla’s instructions also let you select a region or a page part, and save the image or copy it to the clipboard. They describe the capture options, but do not promise that full-page capture scrolls through a page to trigger deferred loading. See Mozilla Support: Take screenshots in Firefox.

Use Developer Tools for full-page, element, or delayed captures
Firefox Developer Tools can capture a full page, a selected element, or a screenshot after a delay. To enable the full-page screenshot button, open the toolbox settings and turn on the full-page screenshot option. The Web Console also documents the :screenshot helper and its --fullpage, --selector, and --delay options.
A delay gives the page time to settle, but the documentation does not say that delay alone triggers every lazy image. Scroll images into view first when the page relies on viewport-based loading. See Firefox Developer Tools: Web Console helpers.

Check for page structures that need a different approach
If scrolling and waiting do not solve the problem, the missing content may be in a separate scrolling area or the page may have other capture limitations.
- Nested scroll areas: A panel inside the page may scroll independently. Scroll within that panel and verify its contents load; a page-level full capture may not represent all of its off-screen content.
- Embedded frames: Content inside an iframe may behave differently from the main document. Test whether the frame’s content loads and appears in the capture.
- Very long pages: A historical Mozilla report discussed page-height limits and inner scroll containers in a particular case. This is evidence that page structure can matter, not a universal statement about current Firefox limits. See Mozilla Bugzilla report on full-page screenshot behavior.
- Infinite-scroll pages: Scrolling may reveal new content in stages. Continue until the content you need has appeared; a full-page capture should not be assumed to include content the site has not yet added.
When to consider an add-on
If Firefox’s built-in capture still misses content, you can evaluate an add-on that scrolls the page to load deferred content. The Mozilla Add-ons listings for Fullshot and Full Page Screenshotter describe dynamic scrolling or image preloading. Those are publisher feature descriptions, not independent verification or a guarantee for every site. Check how an add-on handles nested or horizontal scrolling, sticky elements, and whether its output is an image or a sequence or PDF before relying on it.
