Yes, but a YouTube playlist does not become a live stream by itself. To broadcast bhajans as a continuous YouTube Live event, you need a streaming workflow that sends the playing program to YouTube. YouTube documents encoder-based streaming, but does not promise uninterrupted 24/7 operation or document a built-in feature that turns a playlist into a live broadcast.
Playlist playback and a live broadcast are different
A YouTube playlist is a collection of videos for viewers to play. A live stream is a broadcast sent to YouTube, commonly through an encoder. Adding bhajan videos to a playlist does not publish them as a continuous live event. The playlist may help organize what viewers watch, but a separate workflow must play the program and send its output to YouTube Live. YouTube’s overview of live streaming describes encoder streaming separately from playlists.
For a 24/7 bhajan channel, the essential distinction is whether viewers are watching a live event or selecting ordinary playlist videos. If you need the channel to show a live broadcast, arrange the bhajan program in a streaming workflow and send that feed to YouTube.
What you need before setting up a continuous stream
- An eligible YouTube channel: YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- An encoder workflow: YouTube supports streaming with an encoder. Software and hardware are possible approaches; YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production-value events, but that does not make hardware mandatory for every creator. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance explains the method.
- A repeatable program: Arrange the bhajans to repeat in the workflow that sends the feed. Scheduling a YouTube live event or reusing stream settings does not, on its own, make a playlist play continuously as a live broadcast. YouTube’s official guidance does not establish a native playlist-to-live conversion.
- Documented rights: Confirm that you have permission for the actual recordings and all relevant musical rights before broadcasting.
How to set up a bhajan stream with an encoder
- Check channel eligibility. Verify the channel and confirm that it meets YouTube’s live-streaming requirements, including no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days.
- Clear the music rights. Confirm that your permission covers streaming the recordings on YouTube. Keep records of licenses and permissions, and ask the rights owner whether your channel must be added to a Content ID allowlist.
- Choose an encoder workflow. Use an encoder that can send a continuous program feed to YouTube Live. YouTube documents encoder streaming, but the official material cited here does not identify a particular encoder as the most reliable choice for a bhajan loop. Check the selected workflow’s repeat and recovery behavior before relying on it overnight.
- Arrange the program to repeat. Add the recordings in the intended order and configure the playback workflow to loop them. Test that it continues past the end of the list and that the encoder keeps sending the output. A YouTube playlist alone does not do this job.
- Create or schedule the live event and connect the encoder. In YouTube Live Control Room, set up the live stream and use the stream settings provided there to connect the encoder. YouTube supports scheduled streams and reusable settings, but scheduling is not a substitute for a running program feed.
- Test before leaving it unattended. Confirm that the live event starts, viewers can hear and see the program, the playlist repeats as expected, and the encoder remains connected. Do not assume that a successful short test proves uninterrupted 24/7 operation.
- Decide how to retain a recording. If you need a complete copy of a long broadcast, make a local recording backup rather than relying on YouTube’s archive.
Clearance, copyright checks and monetization are separate
Devotional or religious subject matter does not make a recording copyright-free. YouTube’s live-stream terms put responsibility for necessary rights, including music licensing rights, on the provider. YouTube also scans live streams for matches to third-party content; a match can lead to a warning, interruption or termination. Read YouTube’s terms and its live-stream copyright guidance before broadcasting.

A license may not by itself prevent an interruption: YouTube says a rights owner may need to allowlist the channel through Content ID. If you have permission but receive a claim or interruption, ask the rights owner whether allowlisting is required.
Copyright clearance and monetization eligibility are different checks. YouTube says reused-content review is separate from copyright enforcement and applies at channel level. Permission to use bhajans does not ensure that a channel qualifies for monetization. In its July 15, 2025 update, YouTube clarified that repetitive or mass-produced content falls under its “inauthentic content” policy and said there was no change to the reused-content policy. Plan for archive limits and interruptions
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; if a stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. If retaining the full 24-hour program matters, arrange a local recording backup. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.
Neither an encoder setup nor a scheduled event is a guarantee of uninterrupted 24/7 operation. Test the chosen workflow’s looping and recovery behavior, and decide how you will respond if the feed stops. YouTube’s official guidance cited here does not guarantee continuous runtime.
