“Cloud News: CA Rolls Out CloudMinder Update” was the headline of a Data Center Knowledge article published on February 13, 2013—not news of a 2026 rollout. Contemporary coverage described CA CloudMinder as an enterprise identity-management service whose update added social identity support and retained cloud, on-premises, and hybrid deployment options. The exact change list in the Data Center Knowledge article is not established because its body is unavailable.
What was CA CloudMinder?
CA CloudMinder was CA Technologies’ identity and access management (IAM) offering delivered as a service. IAM software helps organizations manage user identities and control access to applications and other resources. CA described CloudMinder as IAM-as-a-Service in a 2011 announcement. Later Broadcom product material identifies CA Identity Manager SaaS as the product formerly called CA CloudMinder Identity Management.
That lineage helps explain the product name, but it does not establish that the 2013 service remains available today.
What did the 2013 update add?
TechRadar’s February 2013 coverage reported support for social identities, including Facebook and Google. That means the update’s reported identity options extended beyond accounts managed solely inside an organization; it does not, by itself, establish the precise sign-in or single sign-on workflow for every application.

The same report said CloudMinder had more than 30 provisioning connections, including Office 365, mainframes, and other business applications. Provisioning connections allow identity-management systems to coordinate account-related tasks with connected applications. The figure and examples describe TechRadar’s reporting at the time, not a current connector count.
Could organizations deploy it on premises or in a hybrid setup?
Yes. TechRadar described CloudMinder as available as an on-premises solution, a cloud application, or a hybrid of both. So the product was not presented as cloud-only in that 2013 coverage. CA Technologies executive Colin Bannister said: “Our history with on-premise was targeted on large organisations, but this takes us down to any size of organisation.”

What do the release notes say about versions 1.51 and 1.52?
CA’s release notes document these version-specific changes:
| Version | Documented change | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| 1.51 | PostgreSQL became an alternative runtime and report database. | New installations |
| 1.52 | The audit-log table changed from CLOUDMINDERACCESSLOG4 to SMACCESSLOG4. |
Audit-log table name |
These entries document product changes, but the available information does not tie either one specifically to the Data Center Knowledge headline’s update.

What is known—and not known—about the headline?
Data Center Knowledge’s index record identifies the article as “Cloud News: CA Rolls Out CloudMinder Update,” by John Rath, published February 13, 2013. Its body was not retrievable, so the headline’s exact change list cannot be confirmed from that record. TechRadar’s report and CA’s release notes provide contemporaneous context, but they should not be treated as a verbatim or complete account of the Data Center Knowledge article.
TechRadar also reported that CA direct sales had a 3,000-user minimum at the time. That is a historical sales detail, not a current pricing or availability statement.

Is CloudMinder still available?
The available sources establish historical product context and a later product-name lineage, but they do not verify CloudMinder’s current availability, support status, or present-day successor. Broadcom’s identification of CA Identity Manager SaaS as formerly CA CloudMinder Identity Management is evidence of lineage, not proof that the old service can still be purchased or used.
