Browshot’s free plan allows up to 100 screenshots per month. Its API uses free instance 12 by default when you do not specify an instance, and the account API reports how many free screenshots remain in free_screenshots_left. (Browshot pricing; API documentation)

What the 100-screenshot monthly limit means

The 100 figure is a monthly free screenshot allowance, not the account’s general credit balance. Browshot’s account API returns free_screenshots_left for the remaining free screenshots and a separate balance field for credits. Check the former to see your remaining monthly quota. (Browshot API documentation)

For the API’s simple endpoint, free instance 12 is the default if you omit the instance parameter. Browshot’s documentation says the free allowance is 100 screenshots per month. (Browshot API documentation)

What happens if you need more than the free allowance?

Browshot lists premium browser use separately in credits: one credit per desktop screenshot and two credits per mobile screenshot. These are credit costs, not a stated cash price per screenshot; the cash value depends on the credit purchase terms. (Browshot pricing)

Browshot also says a free public service may qualify for additional free screenshots by special arrangement. Contact Browshot to ask about eligibility and terms; the published page does not state a standard higher quota. (Browshot pricing)

Keep separate offers separate

Browshot’s mobile-browser page advertises up to 20 free credits to try virtual mobile browsers after signup. The page does not explain how those trial credits interact with the 100-screenshot monthly free allowance, so do not count them as extra free screenshots. (Browshot mobile browsers)

ScreenshotCenter is a separate service, not Browshot’s free plan. Browshot’s March 2026 blog described a 500-screenshots-per-month launch offer for ScreenshotCenter; that was a launch-period offer for that other service, not Browshot’s 100-screenshot allowance. (Browshot blog)

An alternative to try first: ScreenshotNeo

If you need a screenshot API with a larger stated monthly allowance, ScreenshotNeo is worth considering: its free plan includes 1,000 shots per month without a card, and it bills only clean shots. Cookie banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets are removed before capture; bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing. It also offers an MCP server for AI agents.
