A dated October 27, 2026 report describes Asta’s perfected Devil Union with Liebe as True Devil Union. In the reported form, anti-magic covers Asta’s entire body, improving both his defense against spells and the force of his attacks. The transformation is still temporary: the report gives it an operating limit of about five minutes. The name and episode-specific reveal come from that report, not from an official page that independently labels the form “True Devil Union.”
What is Asta’s new devil power?
True Devil Union is presented as a perfected version of Asta’s earlier, partial Devil Union with Liebe. Instead of concentrating anti-magic on only parts of his body, the reported upgrade surrounds Asta with full-body anti-magic armor. That changes the form from a mainly offensive transformation into a short-duration defense-and-attack mode.
The underlying ability is consistent with Black Clover’s official premise: Asta was born without magic in a magic-dominated world, receives a five-leaf grimoire containing a devil, and gains anti-magic that nullifies spells. The official synopsis also places Asta’s taboo pact and the devils’ power at the center of the conflict.
Is True Devil Union stronger than Asta’s old Devil Union?
According to the October 27 report, yes. The report describes higher anti-magic output and greater cutting power, while full-body coverage lets Asta cancel magical attacks when they make contact with the anti-magic armor.

| Feature | Earlier or partial Devil Union | Reported True Devil Union |
|---|---|---|
| Anti-magic coverage | Partial body coverage | Full-body coverage |
| Combat effect | Earlier union-level offense and defense | Higher reported anti-magic output and cutting power |
| Duration | Short transformation | Approximately five minutes, according to the report |
These distinctions come from the dated report. The official anime pages establish Asta’s anti-magic and devil-contract premise but do not independently publish the English term “True Devil Union” or the five-minute figure.
How does the full-body anti-magic work?
The reported armor creates a contact-based answer to magical attacks: when a spell reaches the anti-magic covering Asta’s body, the anti-magic can cancel it. This is different from relying only on a sword swing or a shielded body part, because the reported form extends the nullifying surface across Asta’s entire body.
Defense
Full coverage should let Asta meet incoming spells more directly, provided the attack actually contacts the anti-magic armor. The report does not establish that the form makes him immune to every effect, removes the need for physical movement, or protects allies nearby.

Offense
The same report says Asta’s anti-magic output and cutting ability rise substantially. His swords therefore function as stronger channels for the nullifying power, rather than the form being only a visual armor change.
How long can Asta use True Devil Union?
The reported limit is approximately five minutes. That makes True Devil Union a burst transformation: Asta must choose when to activate it, press the advantage quickly, and avoid wasting the available window on movement or minor exchanges.
The report does not state whether the limit changes with training, injury, distance from Liebe, or repeated activations. Those details remain unconfirmed until an episode or an official statement specifies them.

When does Asta use the new Devil Union form?
The reveal belongs to the current 2026 anime continuation, but the supplied official pages do not provide a complete episode synopsis naming the transformation. The Japanese official site lists Black Clover 2nd Season as beginning on October 3, 2026, with news updates dated October 10, October 17, and October 24. The October 27 report supplies the episode-specific True Devil Union description.

What is the official Black Clover context?
The official anime introduction identifies Asta as the series’ unusual protagonist because he has no magic while everyone around him does. A five-leaf grimoire houses a demon, and Asta obtains anti-magic through a taboo that gives him access to the devil’s true power. The Dark Triad’s devil abilities drive the larger conflict.

Yūki Tabata is identified as the creator in VIZ’s manga index. In a comment accompanying the second-season announcement, Tabata said that while drawing the manga he felt the characters were running alongside him; after finishing, he increasingly watched and felt them at a slower pace, and now felt he might become one of their fans.

Where does the manga stand after this reveal?
VIZ’s index runs through chapter 392, and the manga is complete through that chapter in the listed continuity. Readers who want the collected edition can find Black Clover, Vol. 37 in VIZ’s series listings. The anime’s 2026 continuation may present events in a different sequence or with different timing, so chapter numbers should not be treated as episode numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does True Devil Union replace Asta’s other transformations?
The report presents it as a perfected Devil Union, not as a statement that Asta’s other forms are erased or unusable. Whether he can switch between forms freely, and what conditions each requires, is not specified in the available official material.
Is Liebe’s role different in the new form?
True Devil Union is explicitly described as a development of Asta’s union with Liebe, so the devil partnership remains central. The report does not describe a new contract, a separate devil, or an independent power source.
Does full-body anti-magic protect Asta from physical attacks?
The reported benefit concerns magical attacks that contact the anti-magic armor. Nothing in the available description says the armor automatically cancels ordinary weapons, impacts, or environmental hazards.
Where can I watch the 2026 Black Clover continuation?
AnimeTV reported international Crunchyroll streaming, but licensing is regional and can change. Check the service’s listing for your country and the official Black Clover announcements for scheduling updates.
