For a mostly static Kannada songs playlist visual, start with 1080p at 30 fps, H.264, CBR, a 14 Mbps video bitrate, a 2-second keyframe interval, and RTMPS. Set stereo audio to AAC at 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps, and use Rec. 709 for SDR. This follows YouTube’s published H.264 recommendation for 1080p30; it is a practical starting point, not a preset tested with every encoder or internet connection. Most importantly, confirm that you have rights to the specific recordings before you stream.
Recommended settings for a Kannada music playlist
A playlist with a still image or simple audio visualization usually does not need 60 fps. Use this starting configuration, then test the actual encoded feed and your upload connection.

These format recommendations come from YouTube’s live encoder settings and bitrate guidance. Platform recommendations do not guarantee that a particular encoder, computer, or internet connection will deliver a stable stream.
Choose a bitrate that matches the codec and motion
Do not copy a bitrate from a different codec row: YouTube’s recommended values differ between H.264 and AV1/H.265. For a playlist visual, select the format that your encoder handles reliably and that your connection can sustain.

The 10 Mbps figure for 1080p30 applies to YouTube’s AV1/H.265 recommended value, not its H.264 recommendation. If you choose H.264 at 1080p30, use 14 Mbps as the recommended target when your connection can support it. YouTube also transcodes live streams into formats for viewers on different devices and networks, so sending 4K is not required merely to reach people watching on varied devices; see Manage live stream settings.
Check upload capacity before going live
Your available upload bandwidth must support the total outgoing stream bitrate, including audio, with room for network variation. YouTube recommends leaving 20% headroom. For H.264 1080p30 at 14 Mbps video plus 128 kbps audio, the combined rate is about 14.128 Mbps; dividing by 0.8 gives roughly 17.7 Mbps of sustained upload capacity for that headroom. This is arithmetic using YouTube’s guidance, not a separate YouTube threshold.

- Run an upload speed test on the same network and at a time representative of your planned stream.
- Confirm that sustained upload capacity is comfortably above the stream’s combined bitrate, not merely equal to it.
- Send a test using the same audio, visual movement, resolution, codec, and bitrate you intend to use.
- After starting, monitor YouTube’s stream health and messages. YouTube advises creators to test before streaming; see Streaming tips.
- If upload fluctuates or stream health warns of instability, lower the resolution or bitrate and test again rather than risking interruptions.
Set up and verify the encoder
Encoder interfaces use different labels, so the exact menu path depends on the software. In the stream or output settings, enter the values in the tables above; select RTMPS if the encoder offers it, and use the stream key and ingest details shown in YouTube Studio for the live event. Do not share the stream key: anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your channel.
- Check the outgoing picture for the intended resolution, frame rate, correct orientation, and no unexpected black bars.
- Listen to the actual encoded audio for clipping, silence between tracks, and audio-video sync problems.
- Verify that the bitrate remains stable and that YouTube reports healthy reception during the test.
- For a static image or simple waveform, keep 30 fps unless there is a clear visual reason to spend bandwidth on 60 fps.
Can you play Kannada songs in a YouTube livestream?
Technical encoder settings do not grant music rights. Whether you may stream a particular Kannada song depends on rights to the exact recording, the relevant territories, and the applicable license terms. A song being available online, credited to an artist, or included in a playlist does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast it.

YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content. If a match is detected, the stream may show a placeholder; if the material continues, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. Even where music is licensed, the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. If you archive the stream, Content ID claims may be applied after it ends. Review YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams, and confirm clearance for every recording and territory before broadcasting.
Troubleshoot common stream problems
