For most people, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 is the best wireless gaming headset for both work and gaming. It combines 50-hour battery life, simultaneous 2.4GHz and Bluetooth, a retractable boom microphone, and support for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices. That combination lets you keep low-latency game audio on one connection while staying available to a phone or work laptop on the other.
Choose the Logitech G PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED for premium PC comfort and microphone software, the Audeze Maxwell 2 for higher-end sound and very long sessions, the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro when voice chat and active noise cancellation are priorities, or the HyperX Cloud III Wireless when battery life and a low sale price matter more than Bluetooth.

The Nova 7 Gen 2 addresses the awkward part of using one headset for employment and games: work devices commonly use Bluetooth, while games benefit from a dedicated 2.4GHz link. Its dual-wireless design can keep both connections active, so a call from a phone or laptop can coexist with game audio. The retractable boom is available when you need clear speech and disappears into the earcup when you are listening or traveling.

SteelSeries positions the Nova family as multi-platform, and the comparison specification lists PC, PS5, Xbox, Switch and mobile support. Treat “Xbox support” as a model-selection issue rather than a universal promise: wireless headsets often ship in separate Xbox and non-Xbox versions, and a USB transmitter that works on PC or PlayStation may not authenticate with an Xbox console. Verify the label on the box and the manufacturer’s compatibility list before ordering.
This is the strongest default when your day moves between a work laptop, a gaming PC or console, and a phone. It is not automatically the best choice for a listener who values planar-driver detail, or for a streamer who wants the most elaborate microphone processing; those needs point to the alternatives below.
Choose a different model when one priority dominates
Logitech G PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED: best for PC comfort and microphone software
Logitech lists 50mm graphene drivers, LIGHTSPEED wireless, a cardioid microphone, memory-foam earpads, Blue VO!CE processing and up to 50 hours of use with a connection range of up to 30 meters. Blue VO!CE is the reason to choose this model over a simpler dongle headset if you spend time tuning an input for Zoom, Teams, Discord or streaming. A cardioid pattern is designed to favor speech in front of the microphone, while the software provides the controllable processing layer.
The PRO X 2 is a particularly good fit for a Windows gaming desk where the same headset stays connected for meetings and games. Its listed features do not establish simultaneous Bluetooth-and-LIGHTSPEED mixing, so do not assume it behaves like the Nova 7 Gen 2. If your work laptop and gaming machine must be heard at the same time, confirm that behavior for the exact firmware and connection method you plan to use.
Logitech’s product page showed a $209.99 sale price versus a previously listed $279.99 price on October 20, 2026. That is a time-sensitive offer, not a permanent value judgment.
Audeze Maxwell 2: best for premium sound and marathon sessions
Audeze specifies 90mm planar drivers, USB-C ultra-low-latency wireless, Bluetooth 5.3 features and more than 80 hours of wireless playback at 80 dBA. Planar drivers are the central reason to consider the Maxwell 2: they are intended to deliver precise separation for game effects while also providing a fuller, more resolving presentation for music and films. Audeze describes these as its most advanced 90mm planar drivers to date.

- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
The detachable hypercardioid beamforming microphone adds physical and AI noise reduction. Audeze also describes its FILTER AI noise removal as a way to make chat and streams clearer. Those processing features are useful when keyboard, fan or room noise reaches a call, but noise reduction can alter the character of a voice; audition the processed and unprocessed signals before settling on a setting for professional meetings.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

The higher-end construction is compelling for long listening sessions, but the supplied specifications do not state a current price. Check the current regional listing and the weight or fit information for your version before buying, especially if you are sensitive to heavier planar headsets.
Razer BlackShark V3 Pro: best when voice chat is the priority
The BlackShark V3 Pro combines 2.4GHz, Bluetooth and wired connections with active noise cancellation and a detachable 12mm microphone. GamesRadar’s 2026 guide lists up to 70 hours on PC and up to 48 hours on console. The separate figures matter: a console setup may have a shorter claimed runtime than a PC setup, so use the console number when planning travel or tournament days.
ANC can reduce steady background sound such as an air conditioner or an open office, while the detachable microphone is practical if you also use the headset for music. This is the most voice-focused pick in the group, but it is not the right choice if your defining requirement is the longest possible battery life or guaranteed simultaneous Bluetooth mixing.
GamesRadar lists compatibility with PC, PS5, an Xbox variant, mobile devices and Nintendo Switch. Select the Xbox model when needed; do not infer Xbox compatibility from the existence of a USB dongle alone.

HyperX Cloud III Wireless: best battery-per-dollar choice
SoundGrade lists more than 100 hours of battery life and a detachable boom microphone for the Cloud III Wireless. That is the standout endurance figure in this group and makes the headset attractive when charging every few days is unacceptable. SoundGrade also notes that this model lacks Bluetooth.

The absence of Bluetooth changes its workday role. You can use the 2.4GHz transmitter with a compatible computer or console, but you cannot treat it as a universal Bluetooth headset for a phone or a work laptop. Choose it when one primary gaming device is your center of gravity and battery longevity is worth more than phone pairing.
Microphone and meeting quality
For work calls, “wireless” is only half the decision. The microphone must reject room noise, remain positioned consistently and connect to the device running the meeting application.
- Most flexible physical design: the Nova 7 Gen 2 and Cloud III Wireless use boom microphones that retract or detach, so they do not remain in front of your face when you are listening only.
- Most software control: the PRO X 2 combines a cardioid microphone with Logitech’s Blue VO!CE processing. It is the best candidate here if you want to shape gain, tone and voice processing on a PC.
- Most advanced stated noise processing: the Maxwell 2 uses a detachable hypercardioid beamforming microphone with physical and AI noise reduction, including Audeze’s FILTER AI system.
- Best fit for noisy surroundings: the BlackShark V3 Pro pairs a detachable 12mm microphone with ANC for the listener. ANC does not automatically clean the microphone signal, so test your transmitted voice separately.
Before a work meeting, select the headset microphone explicitly in the meeting app rather than assuming the operating system changed it. Make a short recording while typing and speaking at normal volume. If the recording clips, lower input gain; if it sounds distant, reposition the boom or disable an overly aggressive noise filter. These checks reveal more than a product name alone.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWireless behavior: 2.4GHz, Bluetooth and wired modes
Why 2.4GHz is preferred for games
The supplied models use a USB transmitter or USB-C wireless path for a dedicated, low-latency gaming connection. That generally keeps video, game effects and voice chat synchronized more reliably than ordinary Bluetooth. Connect the transmitter directly to the gaming device, or use the supplied extension if the port is hidden behind a desktop.
When Bluetooth matters for work
Bluetooth is convenient for a phone, tablet or work laptop because those devices commonly provide Bluetooth without a free USB port. The Nova 7 Gen 2 explicitly supports simultaneous 2.4GHz and Bluetooth. The Maxwell 2 lists Bluetooth 5.3 features. The BlackShark V3 Pro lists Bluetooth alongside 2.4GHz and wired modes. The Cloud III Wireless does not have Bluetooth. The PRO X 2 specifications supplied here emphasize LIGHTSPEED rather than simultaneous Bluetooth operation, so verify the exact connectivity behavior before making it your two-device solution.
Wired fallback
The BlackShark V3 Pro is explicitly listed with a wired connection, which is useful when a battery is empty or an aircraft, phone or console does not accept the transmitter. The other models may offer wired functions depending on their included cables and platform support; inspect the exact package rather than assuming every USB-C port carries analog audio.

Battery life: compare the condition, not just the largest number
| Model | Published figure | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Audeze Maxwell 2 | Over 80 hours | Audeze specifies wireless playback at 80 dBA |
| HyperX Cloud III Wireless | 100-plus hours | Figure listed by SoundGrade; Bluetooth is not included |
| Razer BlackShark V3 Pro | Up to 70 hours on PC; up to 48 hours on console | GamesRadar’s 2026 guide reports different platform figures |
| SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 | 50 hours | Comparison specification; connection and usage conditions are not stated |
| Logitech G PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED | Up to 50 hours | Logitech’s figure; the same page lists up to 30 meters of range |
| Razer BlackShark V2 Pro | 24 hours | SoundGrade figure for the older V2 Pro; do not apply it to the V3 Pro |
“Up to” is a ceiling under specified conditions, not a guaranteed time for every user. Higher volume, continuous microphone transmission, ANC, lighting and repeated Bluetooth use can reduce runtime. None of the supplied material establishes charging speed for these models, so select a headset with a charging routine you can actually maintain rather than assuming a quick top-up.
Comfort for an eight-hour workday and an evening game
Comfort depends on head shape, glasses, hair, room temperature and clamp pressure, so no specification can guarantee a fit. The documented design differences still help narrow the choice:
- The PRO X 2 includes memory-foam earpads, a useful starting point for long desk sessions.
- The Maxwell 2 has redesigned comfort in the current model according to SoundGuys, but its premium planar construction may not suit someone who prefers a very light headset.
- The Nova 7 Gen 2’s retractable microphone and dual-device behavior reduce the need to swap headsets during a workday.
- The BlackShark V3 Pro’s ANC can make a noisy room less tiring for the listener.
- The Cloud III Wireless is the practical endurance pick when you can live without Bluetooth.
For a real fit check, wear the headset for 20 to 30 minutes before judging it. Check whether the ear pads touch your glasses arms, whether the boom can sit at the corner of your mouth without brushing your cheek, and whether the headband creates a pressure point. Buy from a seller with a clearly stated return policy because comfort is personal and cannot be inferred from battery numbers.
Audio priorities: competitive detail versus music and film
Competitive players usually want positional separation: footsteps, reloads and directional cues should remain distinct from explosions and team chat. Music and films place more emphasis on tonal balance, bass extension and a convincing sense of space. The Maxwell 2 is the clearest premium-audio choice on the supplied evidence because its 90mm planar drivers are designed for detailed reproduction. The other models are more sensible when microphone behavior, platform flexibility or battery endurance outweighs the pursuit of the most advanced driver design.
Do not confuse a low-latency link with sound quality. 2.4GHz primarily addresses timing and stability; the driver, tuning, equalizer and fit determine what you hear. Likewise, ANC changes outside-noise perception but does not turn a headset into a better positional imaging system by itself.
Platform compatibility checklist
| Platform | What to verify before purchase |
|---|---|
| Windows PC | USB transmitter support, Bluetooth support if needed, and access to the model’s microphone or equalizer software |
| Mac or work laptop | Available USB ports, Bluetooth pairing behavior and whether company security policies block accessory software |
| PlayStation 5 | Whether the supplied transmitter is supported and whether chat output is routed to the headset |
| Xbox | The exact Xbox SKU; PC or PlayStation versions are not automatically Xbox-compatible |
| Nintendo Switch | Whether you will use handheld Bluetooth, docked USB, or a transmitter and whether the chosen model supports that mode |
| Phone or tablet | Bluetooth availability; the Cloud III Wireless is specifically listed as lacking Bluetooth |
Setup for work and gaming
- Charge and update first. Charge the headset, install any official desktop utility you intend to use, and apply firmware updates before evaluating microphone or battery behavior.
- Connect the gaming device. Insert the 2.4GHz transmitter into the PC, console or dock. In Windows, open Settings > System > Sound and select the headset for both output and input. In the meeting application, select the same microphone explicitly.
- Pair the work device. Put the headset in Bluetooth pairing mode, then open the laptop or phone’s Bluetooth settings and choose the headset name. If your model supports simultaneous links, leave the 2.4GHz connection active for game audio while Bluetooth handles the call device.
- Configure a PS5. With the transmitter connected, open Settings > Sound, choose the headset as the input and output device, and run the microphone level test. Menu labels can change with console software updates.
- Handle Xbox carefully. Confirm that the package is the Xbox variant before connecting it. If the console does not recognize the transmitter, do not assume a reset will fix a hardware-variant mismatch; return to the compatibility listing or use the connection method documented for that SKU.
- Test the handoff. Start a game, place a short phone call, and record a voice memo. Confirm that you can hear the intended mix, that the microphone is the headset rather than a laptop webcam, and that the controls mute the correct input.
Common problems and fixes
The game has sound but the meeting app uses the laptop microphone
Open the meeting app’s audio settings and choose the headset microphone directly. Operating-system defaults and per-app defaults can differ, especially after Bluetooth reconnects.

Bluetooth connects but game audio is delayed
Use the 2.4GHz transmitter for the game. Reserve Bluetooth for the phone or work laptop when the model supports two active links; otherwise, switch connections manually or choose a model designed for simultaneous wireless use.
The advertised battery life seems short
Check the test condition first. The Maxwell 2 figure is stated at 80 dBA, and the BlackShark V3 Pro has separate PC and console claims. Volume, ANC, microphone activity and other settings also change runtime. Do not apply the 24-hour BlackShark V2 Pro figure to the V3 Pro.
The console will not recognize the headset
Check the exact model suffix and console variant, then try the documented transmitter port or wired method. Xbox compatibility is the most important variant check among these recommendations.
Voice sounds processed or cuts out
Move the boom closer to the corner of your mouth, lower input gain if it clips, and compare physical and AI noise-reduction modes. A noise filter that is too aggressive can remove word endings along with background noise.
Prices and buying timing
Prices and stock change quickly, and the cited figures do not establish a universal region or eligibility for every buyer. Treat these as dated reference points rather than permanent rankings.
| Model | Recorded price | Source and date |

| Razer BlackShark V3 Pro | Not stated | No current price was provided in the specifications used here |
When comparing offers, match the generation, platform variant and included transmitter before comparing the number on the price tag. A cheap older model can look like a bargain while lacking the Bluetooth, microphone processing or console support you actually need.
Which headset should you buy?
- Buy the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 if you need one headset for a gaming console or PC, a work laptop and a phone, especially when simultaneous 2.4GHz and Bluetooth is important.
- Buy the Logitech G PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED if your main desk is a PC and you value memory-foam comfort, Blue VO!CE controls and a 50mm graphene-driver design.
- Buy the Audeze Maxwell 2 if premium planar-driver audio, AI-assisted microphone noise reduction and more than 80 hours of stated playback justify the higher-end purchase.
- Buy the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro if voice chat, ANC and the flexibility of 2.4GHz, Bluetooth and wired modes matter more than a single all-platform battery figure.
- Buy the HyperX Cloud III Wireless if more than 100 hours of stated battery life and a low sale price are worth giving up Bluetooth.
For a mixed work-and-gaming routine, start with the Nova 7 Gen 2 and then move to another model only when you can name the specific trade-off you are willing to make: PC software and comfort, premium planar sound, voice-focused features, or maximum battery life.
