GTA VI preorders opened on June 25, 2026, at midnight local time, and the game is scheduled to launch November 19, 2026. To track current availability, follow Rockstar’s official channels for announcements, then check the PlayStation or Xbox store and retailers serving your country. A past listing or stock report does not confirm that a copy is available now.
Where to get official GTA VI preorder updates
Rockstar Support identifies the Grand Theft Auto VI official site, the Rockstar Newswire, and the Rockstar Propaganda email newsletter as the best places to find preorder information. The game site also promotes the newsletter for game announcements, events, and offers.
These channels are useful for publisher announcements, not live confirmation of every retailer’s stock. For a purchase, check the retailer’s current listing directly.
How to check current preorder availability
- Check Rockstar’s channels. Look at the official GTA VI site and Newswire, or subscribe to Rockstar Propaganda if you want email updates. Use these sources to confirm publisher announcements.
- Open the store for your console. GTA VI is announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Check the listing that matches your console and account.
- Check local retailers. Rockstar says select retailers and third-party storefronts may offer the game depending on country. Compare the platform, edition, seller, delivery or pickup terms, and code region.
- Revisit unavailable listings when useful. Stock can change, but the sources available do not establish a universal restock calendar or reliable global alert service. Treat any retailer alert as available only if it appears on that retailer’s current local listing.
For the official platform listings, see the PlayStation Blog preorder announcement and the Xbox game page. Availability and store details can depend on country.

What to check before choosing a listing
Platform and edition
Rockstar’s announced platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Make sure the listing is for the console you own, then confirm whether it is Standard Edition or a digital Ultimate Edition purchase. Rockstar says Standard Edition owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade as a digital add-on after redeeming their code; it does not offer a physical Ultimate Edition.
Boxed copy versus disc
A boxed version is not a disc copy. Rockstar says the physical version contains a Standard Edition download code inside the box. Check the listing’s format and terms before buying, especially if you expect a disc.

Download-code region
Rockstar recommends buying from a retailer in the country associated with your platform account to reduce activation problems. Code-region rules vary by platform and territory, so verify compatibility for your account before purchase.
Digital preorder offers
Rockstar’s editions guidance describes a Vintage Vice City Pack for qualifying digital purchases made before November 20, 2026, and one month of GTA+ for digital preorders and purchases that meet its stated timing. Eligibility and terms depend on the purchase; check Rockstar’s current editions information and the store listing before ordering.

How to interpret older stock reports
A retailer roundup from June 25, 2026, reported Amazon US listings for both platform versions during the preorder rollout. That is a dated snapshot, not evidence of current stock or a forecast of the next restock. Confirm availability and delivery or pickup timing on the retailer’s live listing.
Keep announcement tracking and stock checking separate: use Rockstar for official news, platform stores for their own listings, and retailer pages to verify current purchase availability. Unsourced screenshots and community posts can point you toward a listing, but they do not establish that it is genuine or still in stock.
