For browsing Star Trek ships, bridges, props, and other on-screen environments online, start with the Roddenberry Archive. Its site organizes material into ship and location categories, with tours and production context. If you want an immersive spatial experience instead, consider The Archive app; if you want to command a fleet and play, try Star Trek Fleet Command. These options serve different purposes, so the best choice depends on whether you want to inspect designs, experience virtual spaces, or play a game.
Start with the Roddenberry Archive for ships and sets
The Roddenberry Archive is the closest match for exploring Star Trek ships and sets in a browser. Its homepage presents “Starships,” “Explore,” and “Tours,” alongside “Shuttles and Auxiliary Craft,” “Props and Set Decoration,” and “Planets.” That makes it useful for browsing beyond a ship’s exterior, including related interiors and production details.
Use the Enterprise entries to compare versions
Search results and page titles can use the same ship name for different eras or designs. For example, the Archive’s U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 (2266) entry includes a bridge entry and describes the bridge as the ship’s command center. Check the year or version in the page title before assuming an entry depicts the version you have in mind.
The distinction matters even more for the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 (2271). Its page describes a Phase II production-art version and notes that the bridge concept was partially constructed before the project was reworked for Star Trek: The Motion Picture. The Archive says its team used Michael Minor’s production art to visualize how the set might have looked if completed. Treat that as a concept visualization, not a set that appeared on screen.

Choose the type of experience you want
| Option | Best for | What it offers | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roddenberry Archive website | Browsing ships, sets, props, and locations | Browseable categories, tours, and entries with production context | Check each entry’s title and notes to distinguish versions and concepts. |
| The Archive app | Immersive spatial exploration | The app listing describes spatial scenes and artifacts. | Current device compatibility and access details should be checked in the live listing. |
| Star Trek Fleet Command | Fleet-building and gameplay | Build and customize a fleet, recruit characters, and explore a game galaxy. | It is a game, not an archive for touring production sets. |
Use The Archive app for spatial scenes
The Archive app listing describes immersive spatial scenes and artifacts. OTOY’s April 5, 2024 announcement about an expansion for Apple Vision Pro described explorable ship interiors, a recreation of the Deep Space Nine Promenade, and additional ship models. That announcement documents the expansion at that time; it does not establish today’s full compatibility or access requirements. Check the current app listing before choosing a device or assuming a feature is available.
Choose Fleet Command if you want to play
Star Trek Fleet Command is a downloadable game in which players build and customize a fleet, recruit characters, and explore a game galaxy. Its ships guide describes ships as a way to explore systems and take part in combat. Choose it for interactive fleet gameplay, not for production-history context or a tour of filmed sets.

Physical models are a separate option for collectors
If you would rather own a miniature than explore digitally, physical ship models offer a collecting route—but they do not replace online set exploration. A StarTrek.com feature published December 14, 2013 presented rotatable views of models including the Defiant, Borg Sphere, and Reliant. It is historical evidence of model-based ship viewing, not proof that those models are currently for sale.
The official Star Trek Shop’s collectibles category lists licensed collectibles, but the category page does not establish which ship models are in stock. Check the exact model, seller, and availability on the listing before buying.
