Best fit depends on your workflow: if you already produce in OBS and want a cloud relay, Restream documents a free option for two channels, with branding. If you want a browser-based studio, StreamYard offers multistreaming on paid plans, with destination limits that vary by plan. For a YouTube channel that needs to keep uploaded videos live around the clock—not to send a live camera or OBS production to several platforms—StreamNeo is a separate, YouTube-only option that runs the stream from the cloud.
Choose the multistream workflow before the tool
Multistreaming sends one live program to more than one destination at the same time. The main choice is whether you want to produce locally and relay the feed through a cloud service, or produce inside a browser studio.
- Cloud relay with OBS: OBS sends one upstream feed to a relay service, which distributes it to selected platforms. This suits creators who already have an OBS scene and want to avoid setting up a separate encoder output for every destination.
- Browser studio: You produce the show in a web-based studio, then send it to connected destinations. This can suit interviews and guest-led shows where browser production tools are useful.
- Direct local outputs: An encoder sends separate outputs to platforms. This offers control, but requires the computer to handle the encoding and the internet connection to carry the combined upload traffic.
YouTube describes both local-encoder and cloud-service approaches. Its guidance says a local hardware or software encoder places encoding demands on your device and is a fit for creators seeking control with a powerful computer. A cloud service receives one high-quality feed and distributes it; YouTube says this can suit simpler setups or more than two channels. Accounts need to be active and in good standing on all channels and platforms used. YouTube’s simulstreaming guide explains the trade-offs.
Best tools, by use case
1. StreamNeo — for a 24/7 pre-recorded YouTube stream
StreamNeo keeps a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos or a playlist. Upload the recording, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; the cloud loops the video, so your computer and home connection do not need to stay on. It is not a multistream relay for sending a live camera or OBS show to multiple platforms, and it streams to YouTube only.

2. Restream — for an existing OBS workflow and a cloud relay
Restream’s Help Center article, published February 9, 2026, describes a free plan that multistreams to two channels. Free streams include Restream branding, such as a watermark and/or a link in the description. The article says a paid plan is required for three or more channels, Facebook Pages or Groups, and custom RTMP destinations. It does not establish an exact current price, so check Restream’s plan page before budgeting.
Restream documents connecting OBS through an integration or by pasting a stream key, then starting the broadcast from OBS. The service describes its relay as avoiding the need to encode multiple separate outputs or use additional outbound bandwidth for each platform; that is the vendor’s product description, not a comparative performance test. Its free-plan documentation also lists browser Studio with up to five guests, multichat, analytics, and scheduled Events. Paid features listed include removing branding, Studio Full HD (1080p), and up to nine guests. See Restream’s free-plan details and its OBS multistreaming guide.

3. StreamYard — for a browser-based studio
StreamYard’s support documentation says multistreaming is available on paid plans, with limits of three destinations on Core, eight on Advanced, and ten on Business. Those are destination caps, not a promise that every platform feature works identically. Its destination documentation lists native support for Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Twitch, Kick, and Vimeo; custom RTMP may work for platforms that accept an RTMP feed, but some features are limited. Check the current plan and destination tables before choosing, since service documentation can change.

Compare the options that matter
| Option | Production workflow | Destinations and limits | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Upload videos or make a playlist; StreamNeo loops it in the cloud. | YouTube only; one always-on stream per slot. | Keeping uploaded video live on YouTube 24/7, not live production across platforms. |
| Restream | Cloud relay for OBS or other supported workflows; also documents a browser Studio. | Free plan: two channels. Paid plan required for 3+ channels, Facebook Pages/Groups, and custom RTMP. | Sending an OBS-produced live feed through a relay, especially when the free two-channel boundary fits. |
| StreamYard | Browser-based studio. | Paid multistreaming: 3 destinations on Core, 8 on Advanced, 10 on Business. | Producing in a browser and sending to multiple supported destinations within the relevant plan limit. |
The table compares documented fit, not independently tested quality or reliability. No hands-on comparative performance testing is established for these services. The exact plan features and destination compatibility should be verified in the linked service documentation before signup.

For a local multi-output setup, estimate total outbound bitrate across destinations, not just the bitrate of one stream. YouTube gives an example of 6 Mbps plus 4 Mbps producing a 10 Mbps combined target, and recommends 15–20 Mbps upload capacity for stability. These figures are example guidance, not a guarantee for every encoder, network, or stream. Test the actual connection and monitor stream health while live. As YouTube puts it, “For high-quality simulstreaming, sufficient Internet upload speed is critical for the live streams to work properly.”

A relay can avoid sending a separate encoded output from your computer to every destination, according to Restream’s description of its service. It does not remove the need for a stable connection from your encoder to the relay. Confirm that each destination account is active and in good standing, and verify whether the specific platform, page type, or custom RTMP endpoint is supported on your selected plan.
How to choose without overpaying
- Write down the destinations. Count channels and note whether you need a Facebook Page or Group, a custom RTMP endpoint, or platform-native features.
- Pick the production environment. Keep OBS if you already have scenes and encoding configured; consider a browser studio if its production workflow and guest tools suit the show.
- Match the plan to actual limits. Restream’s documented free plan covers two channels but carries branding. StreamYard multistreaming is paid-only, with plan caps of 3, 8, or 10 destinations.
- Check local capacity. If sending independent outputs, calculate the combined upload requirement and ensure your computer can encode them. Leave headroom and test rather than treating a published example as a guarantee.
- Keep 24/7 looping separate from live multistreaming. If the goal is to loop uploaded recordings on YouTube while your computer is off, choose a cloud looping service rather than a browser studio or conventional live relay.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a pre-recorded, always-on YouTube channel, StreamNeo’s setup is three steps: upload a video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploaded video streams as made up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot. If YouTube drops the stream, StreamNeo automatically recovers. The first day is free with no card, and Monthly is $9.99 per month. This is for YouTube video looping, not simulcasting a live camera feed to other platforms. Start the free day on StreamNeo.
