For a U.S. household trying to spend less than a growing collection of separate services, the Disney+ and Hulu bundle is the strongest low-cost starting point when both catalogs will be watched. The Disney+, Hulu and Max bundle offers the largest listed dollar saving in the comparison, but it is a bad deal if Max would sit unused. Neither bundle is automatically cheaper than Netflix for every household: the right comparison is the services you would actually keep, at equivalent ad or ad-free tiers.
The prices below are dated U.S. listings from July 12, 2026, with a checkout warning because Disney+ and Hulu announced price changes beginning September 23, 2026. Existing subscribers may see changes on or after October 21, 2026. Verify the final price, advertising level, streams, and cancellation terms before paying.
The short answer
There is no universal Netflix replacement because households value different catalogs. Use this decision order:

- Want family programming and general entertainment at the lowest listed bundle price? Check Disney+ and Hulu first, provided the ad-supported tier is acceptable and both services have regular viewers.
- Want Disney, Hulu and HBO/Warner Bros. programming together? The Disney+, Hulu and Max bundle has the biggest listed dollar discount, but only delivers that value when all three services would otherwise be purchased.
- Want Apple originals plus NBCUniversal shows or selected sports? Apple TV+ and Peacock is a possible fit, although its enrollment and tier details should be confirmed directly with the providers.
- Want a narrow premium-catalog combination? Starz with MGM+ or the Starz, AMC+ and MGM+ combination may work, but neither is a broad substitute for a general service by itself.
- Need live sports, news or local channels? Compare a live-TV service separately. On-demand bundles do not provide the same channel coverage.
- Want the lowest annual spend rather than one permanent bundle? Rotate services around releases and seasons, and use streaming benefits already included with memberships you already pay for.
What the reviewed bundles cost
The following are the current listed figures in the July 12, 2026 U.S. bundle comparison. “Separate total” means the comparison’s stated sum for buying the included services individually; it is not a guarantee that every provider’s current checkout page will show the same amount.

| Bundle | Listed monthly price | Separate total in comparison | Listed monthly saving | Best fit | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Disney+ and Hulu | $12.99 | $23.98 | $10.99 | Families and mixed household viewing | Ad-supported tier; value falls sharply if one service is rarely used |
| Disney+, Hulu and Max | $19.99 | $34.97 | $14.98 | Households wanting family, general entertainment and prestige movies or series | Do not buy it for a Max catalog you will not watch |
| Apple TV+ and Peacock | $14.99 | $23.98 | $8.99 | Apple originals, NBCUniversal programming and selected sports | Current enrollment and tier details need direct provider verification |
| Starz, AMC+ and MGM+ | $21.99 | $29.97 | $7.98 | Viewers seeking several premium-network catalogs | Narrower everyday selection than the leading general-entertainment bundles |
| Starz and MGM+ | $13.99 | $18.98 | $4.99 | People who specifically want those two catalogs | Not a general Netflix replacement |
If the listed prices stayed unchanged for a full 12 months, the first bundle’s stated saving would total $131.88 and the three-service bundle’s would total $179.76. Treat those as simple illustrations of the dated monthly figures, not promised annual savings; subscription prices can change and promotional or billing terms can differ.
Hulu’s official help information also lists Disney+, Hulu and Max bundle plans, including a $19.99 monthly option. The existence of a plan on a help page does not remove the need to check the purchase screen for the exact tier and current terms.
How to tell whether a bundle really lowers your bill
1. Start with programs your household will watch
Write down the specific shows, films, franchises, sports and channels that matter to each person. Mark each item as “watch this month,” “watch during a particular season” or “nice to have.” A bundle saves money only when its services replace subscriptions you would genuinely maintain. A large percentage discount on an unused catalog is still wasted spending.
Include children’s viewing, shared family movie nights and one-off events. A service that one person watches every week can be worthwhile even if others never open it; a service nobody plans to use should not be justified by its theoretical catalog size.
2. Compare equivalent advertising tiers
The lowest bundle prices generally use ad-supported plans. Compare an ad-supported bundle with the ad-supported standalone prices that would otherwise be purchased, not with ad-free plans. If avoiding commercials is important, check whether the bundle includes an ad-free option, what it costs, and whether every included service changes tier together.
Also check whether downloads, 4K video, simultaneous streams, and household-sharing rules differ by tier. A lower price can stop being a saving if you must add another subscription to restore a feature your household relies on.
3. Compare against the services you would keep, not a theoretical total
Suppose Max is the only catalog you want. A Disney+, Hulu and Max bundle may cost more than subscribing to Max alone, even though the bundle’s advertised comparison shows a substantial discount against buying all three services separately. The relevant calculation is:

- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
Net bundle value = the standalone services you would actually buy minus the bundle price.
Do this calculation before entering payment details. Exclude a service that would be canceled immediately, and include any separate service you would still need for sports, local channels or a particular release.
4. Account for how long you will keep the subscription
A monthly price is useful when you can cancel after a release or season. If a discounted rate requires a longer commitment, compare the full commitment with the months you expect to watch. Conversely, a month-to-month plan can be more economical than a small permanent discount when your viewing comes in bursts.
5. Separate originals, libraries and live programming
Apple TV+ is oriented around exclusive originals. Disney+ centers on Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars, while Hulu adds adult and current-network programming. Max adds HBO, Warner Bros. and other prestige content. Peacock contributes NBCUniversal programming and selected live sports. These are different reasons to subscribe; no single bundle reproduces every part of a Netflix-style general library.

Disney+ and Hulu: the low-cost broad option
This combination is the clearest starting point for a family or shared household that wants both children’s and adult programming. The listed $12.99 monthly price is $10.99 below the comparison’s $23.98 separate total. Because the listed option is ad-supported, decide whether commercials are acceptable before treating the difference as a saving.
It works best when at least two viewing patterns overlap: for example, Disney, Pixar, Marvel or Star Wars for family use and Hulu’s adult or current-network selection for evening viewing. If only one person watches one service, buy the service that covers that person’s actual watchlist instead of paying for the second catalog.
Disney+, Hulu and Max: the widest reviewed catalog combination
The listed $19.99 monthly price is $14.98 below the comparison’s $34.97 separate total, the largest dollar saving among the reviewed options. It combines family franchises, Hulu’s general and current programming, and Max’s HBO, Warner Bros. and prestige selection.

- Breathtaking picture quality: Stunningly sharp 4K picture brings out rich detail in your entertainment with four times the resolution of HD. Watch as colors pop off your screen and enjoy lifelike clarity with Dolby Vision and HDR10+.
- Seamless streaming for any room: With Roku Streaming Stick 4K, watch your favorite entertainment on any TV in the house, even in rooms farther from your router thanks to the long-range Wi-Fi receiver.
- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
- Compact without compromises: Our sleek design won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, so you can switch from streaming to gaming with ease. Plus, it’s designed to stay hidden behind your TV, keeping wires neatly out of sight
The same breadth creates the main trap: a household can subscribe because the discount looks impressive while watching only one or two services. Add the bundle only when there is a recurring use case for all three, such as children’s viewing on Disney+, current shows on Hulu and a regular Max series or movie rotation. If one catalog is wanted for a single event, a temporary standalone subscription may cost less.

Apple TV+ and Peacock: originals plus NBCUniversal content
The comparison lists this pair at $14.99 per month versus $23.98 separately, a listed $8.99 saving. It suits viewers who prioritize Apple’s exclusive originals and want Peacock’s NBCUniversal catalog or selected sports.
The price was found in a secondary bundle guide rather than a directly readable official enrollment page. Confirm that the offer is still open to new subscribers, identify the exact Peacock tier, and verify whether sports and other live content are included before relying on the listed saving. Do not assume that a promotion, legacy plan or regional offer is available to every account.
Starz, AMC+ and MGM+: a premium-network niche
The three-service combination is listed at $21.99 per month versus $29.97 separately, for a $7.98 monthly difference. It is designed for viewers who already know they want these premium-network catalogs, perhaps around several concurrent series or a particular film slate.
It is less suitable as a one-for-one replacement for a general service because the catalogs are more specialized. Inventory your desired titles first. If only one network has the shows you want this month, subscribing to that service alone or rotating it may be less expensive than keeping all three.

Starz and MGM+: targeted rather than broad
The two-service option is listed at $13.99 monthly versus $18.98 separately, a $4.99 difference. Choose it only when both catalogs have clear, recurring value. Its lower price does not make it a comprehensive replacement for a general-purpose service, and the modest saving is easier to erase by paying for months in which neither catalog is active on your watchlist.
Can a bundle replace Netflix?
It can replace the role Netflix plays in a household, but no evidence here supports a universal claim that any listed bundle is cheaper than every Netflix plan. Netflix pricing varies by tier and can change, while the bundle figures above are dated U.S. snapshots. Compare the Netflix plan you would otherwise keep with the bundle’s actual checkout price and the additional services you would still need.

- Hides behind your TV: The all-new design plugs right into your TV with a simple setup
- Super-fast startup: Start streaming channels like Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max, Apple TV+, Netflix, Sling, and Hulu in a snap—just turn on your TV
- Long-range Wi-Fi: Enjoy fast, smooth TV streaming in any room with a strong Wi-Fi connection, now up to 2x faster
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku Streaming Stick with the Roku remote
- Voice search & control: Quickly search, play entertainment, and control your streaming device with the voice remote
Use a three-part test:
- Coverage: Can the bundle supply the shows, films, franchises or sports your household actually watches?
- Frequency: Will at least one person use each included service during most paid months?
- Friction: Are ads, stream limits, downloads, device rules and cancellation terms acceptable?
If the answer to coverage is no, a discount does not solve the problem. If frequency is seasonal, rotate subscriptions. If friction is unacceptable, price the ad-free or feature-equivalent tier rather than comparing headline prices.
When a live-TV service is the better replacement
On-demand bundles cannot replace a need for local stations, live news, a broad channel guide or a particular sports schedule. The following figures, reported by Kiplinger, show why live television belongs in a separate budget comparison:
| Service | Listed monthly figure | What the figure represents | Decision note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hulu + Live TV | $89.99 | More than 95 channels | Consider when a large live channel lineup matters alongside on-demand viewing |
| YouTube TV | $82.99 | Live-TV package | Compare channel and sports coverage, not just the monthly price |
| Sling | $19.99 to $60.99 | Price varies by package | Can be more targeted, but the exact channels depend on the package selected |
These services cost materially more than the basic on-demand bundles and solve a different problem. If you need only one live league or a few seasonal events, test whether a short-term subscription or a dedicated channel option is cheaper than maintaining live TV year-round.
Ways to lower the bill beyond choosing one bundle
Rotate subscriptions around releases and seasons
Subscribe when a desired series, movie slate or sports season is active, then cancel before the next renewal when the household has finished watching. Christopher Hamilton, industry insights manager at Parrot Analytics, describes the advantage as the ability to “easily drop and resubscribe for a period without penalty.”
A practical rotation can have one anchor service and one seasonal service rather than four permanent subscriptions. Keep a release calendar, set a cancellation reminder for several days before renewal, and record the date access ends. Do not cancel so early that a billing cycle ends before the household finishes a show.
Use memberships you already pay for
Kiplinger reports that Prime Video is included with an Amazon Prime membership. The relevant number for your budget is therefore the incremental cost of using Prime Video, not the full membership fee if you already keep Prime for delivery or other benefits.
Qualifying Walmart+ members may be offered a choice of Paramount+ Essential or Peacock Premium with ads. Eligibility and current terms vary, so open the membership benefits page and confirm the selected service, advertising tier and renewal behavior before canceling a separate subscription.

Use free, ad-supported services for filler viewing
Tubi, The Roku Channel and Pluto TV provide free ad-supported programming. Local libraries may also provide TV and movies through Hoopla. These services may not carry a specific Netflix original or the newest premium release, but they can cover casual background viewing and reduce the temptation to keep a paid service active solely for something to watch.
Audit forgotten renewals
Review the last three months of bank or card statements. Mark each streaming charge with the last date someone in the household used it. Cancel duplicate standalone subscriptions after confirming that a bundle supplies the intended access, and remove trials that converted to paid plans. Keep a list of account owners and renewal dates so a cancellation is not accidentally made on the wrong account.

Hulu and Disney+ state that new-subscription prices changed on September 23, 2026. Existing subscribers may see changes on or after October 21, 2026. Dan Rayburn, a streaming-video-industry analyst, expects that “pricing [will continue] going up for all streaming services, live and on demand.” Treat every price as time-sensitive.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesBefore confirming a subscription, check each item:
- As-checked date: Record the date you saw the offer; the figures in this article are dated October 19, 2026 for this guide, based on the July 12 comparison and current provider information available before the October 21 existing-subscriber change.
- Tier name: Confirm whether the plan is ad-supported, ad-free or a limited promotional tier.
- Final monthly charge: Look for taxes, introductory pricing, bundle-specific fees and the date any promotion ends.
- Included services: Make sure every service you expect appears in the confirmation screen, not just in an advertisement.
- Streams and devices: Check simultaneous streams, downloads, 4K access and household rules against your equipment and viewing pattern.
- Renewal and cancellation: Note the next billing date, whether cancellation ends access immediately or at the period’s end, and whether the offer renews at a different price.
- Account ownership: If a bundle is billed through an app store, mobile carrier or membership program, cancel through that same billing channel.
A practical rotation plan
- Inventory the household: List each person’s must-watch titles and classify them by service.
- Choose one starting month: Subscribe to the bundle that covers the most immediate viewing, not the one with the largest theoretical catalog.
- Set a viewing target: Decide which series, films or events justify the next renewal. If nothing qualifies, schedule cancellation.
- Set two reminders: Place one reminder several days before renewal and another on the day access is expected to end.
- Cancel correctly: Use the account’s billing provider, save the confirmation email and verify the end date.
- Switch only when needed: Start the next service after the previous one is no longer needed, unless a genuine overlap is worth the extra month.
- Recalculate quarterly: Recheck prices, member benefits and the household watchlist at least every three months.
This method works particularly well when one service has a limited series and another has a sports season. The aim is not to avoid every overlap; it is to avoid paying for several idle catalogs at the same time.
Which option fits common household patterns?
| Household pattern | Starting point | Why | Watch for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Family with children and adult evening viewing | Disney+ and Hulu | Combines family franchises with adult and current-network programming at the lowest listed bundle price | Commercials and whether both services are used every month |
| Family plus regular HBO or Warner Bros. viewing | Disney+, Hulu and Max | Adds Max’s prestige and film catalog to the first combination | Do not pay for the third service if its shows are occasional |
| Originals-focused viewer who follows NBCUniversal titles or selected sports | Apple TV+ and Peacock, after verification | Pairs exclusive originals with Peacock’s catalog and live selections | Confirm enrollment, tier and sports availability at checkout |
| Viewer already paying for Amazon Prime | Use Prime Video before adding another service | The streaming access may already be included in the existing membership | Count only incremental spending and confirm the catalog meets the watchlist |
| Qualifying Walmart+ member | Check the included Paramount+ Essential or Peacock Premium benefit | Can prevent paying separately for an eligible service | Benefits, ads and renewal terms can change |
| Sports, news or local-channel household | Compare live-TV services separately | Channel lineups address a need on-demand bundles do not | Higher monthly prices and package-specific channel limits |
| Household watching one premium catalog for a short period | Standalone subscription plus rotation | Avoids paying for unrelated bundled catalogs during idle months | Remember to cancel before renewal |
Common mistakes and how to fix them
Buying the biggest discount instead of the right services
Symptom: The household chooses the three-service bundle because the displayed saving is largest, then watches only one catalog. Fix: Recalculate against the services that would otherwise be purchased and remove any unused service from the comparison.
Comparing an ad-supported bundle with ad-free standalone plans
Symptom: The saving looks unusually large, but the household dislikes commercials or loses downloads and 4K access. Fix: Compare matching tiers and include the cost of any feature upgrade.
Assuming a live-TV package is included
Symptom: A household expects local channels, live news or sports from an on-demand bundle. Fix: Price a live-TV option separately and check the exact channel list for the relevant ZIP code or region.
Keeping every service year-round
Symptom: Several services renew even though nobody has a current show on them. Fix: Use a release calendar and rotate; a cancellation reminder is usually more valuable than a small permanent discount.
Trusting an old price or promotion
Symptom: The checkout total differs from an article, email or saved screenshot. Fix: Use the provider’s current purchase screen, record the date, and check when the introductory rate ends.
Bottom line
For the dated U.S. prices reviewed here, Disney+ and Hulu is the most economical broad starting point when both services are genuinely wanted and ads are acceptable. Disney+, Hulu and Max produces the largest listed dollar saving, but only when Max has a regular place in the household’s viewing. Apple TV+ and Peacock can suit an originals-and-sports audience after direct verification, while the Starz combinations are specialist choices rather than broad replacements. The largest long-term reduction often comes from combining a suitable bundle with rotation, existing membership benefits and free ad-supported viewing, then checking the checkout price again whenever a provider changes its terms.
