What is known about End of Abyss on Steam Deck?
The Epic Games Store lists End of Abyss as a Windows PC game and requires an Epic ID. Its listing does not provide a SteamOS compatibility rating or confirm Steam Deck support. The Windows system requirements are not enough to predict how the game will run on Deck, so they should not be used to promise a particular frame rate or settings combination. What settings should you try first?
Use this as a trial method, not a tested preset. No source establishes exact values for resolution, upscaling, shadows, effects, power limits, or frame caps that reliably work for End of Abyss on Deck.
- Start with the game’s Low graphics preset, if available. This follows one launch-week commenter’s usual approach to Unreal Engine 5 games; that commenter had not played End of Abyss, so it is not a game-specific result.
- In SteamOS, try a consistent frame-rate target. You can test 45 FPS as a starting goal, but do not assume it will stay locked. If frame drops persist, try a lower target and compare consistency rather than treating one value as a fix.
- Raise one in-game graphics option at a time, then revisit the same areas. Changing one setting per test makes it easier to see whether image quality improves at an acceptable performance cost.
- Check both a quiet area and a demanding room or encounter. Judge how consistent play feels across them, not just how the game performs in an easy scene.
Why treat 45 FPS as a goal, not a guaranteed setting?
In a launch-week r/SteamDeck discussion, an OLED Deck player said that after more than an hour of experimentation they were close to 45 FPS, but that some rooms caused substantial drops. Because performance varied by room in that account, a smooth result in one location would not establish that the same target holds through the game. The report also does not establish whether LCD Decks behave like the OLED model.

- A repeatable set of in-game graphics values and frame cap for Steam Deck.
- Whether LCD and OLED Deck models deliver similar results.
