Gran Turismo 7: the broadest alternative
Gran Turismo 7 is a natural next choice if what you enjoy in F1 25 is learning tracks and improving your driving, but you want a wider selection of cars and motorsport activities. Its official product page describes more than 550 cars from over 70 automotive brands, plus tracks from 41 locations in 121 layouts. These are the publisher’s current page figures, accessed in 2026; the page does not specify when those counts were last updated.
More than races
GT7 combines car collecting and tuning with racing events, missions, a licence center, online play, and local split-screen. That variety can make it a better fit than another single-discipline racing game if you want a longer progression through different cars and challenges.

The official page says the Spec III update arrived on 4 December 2025. It added eight cars, two real-world circuits, a Data Logger, enhanced Weekly Challenges, and Café Menus. The PlayStation 5 version also features Gran Turismo Sophy, a racing AI agent developed by Polyphony Digital in collaboration with Sony AI and Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Important if you play offline or use VR
GT7 is not a fully featured offline career game: its official product page says only Arcade Mode is available offline. Its VR features require PlayStation VR2. The US PlayStation Store listing also says online features require a PlayStation account.

EA Sports WRC: choose rally stages over circuits
If you want to trade circuit laps for point-to-point stages, EA Sports WRC is the focused rally pick. PlayStation describes it as an official FIA World Rally Championship game, with WRC, WRC2, and Junior WRC cars from the 2023 season. Its stages span dirt, snow, and asphalt, so the surface is part of the driving challenge.
Builder and Moments modes
PlayStation’s guide highlights Builder and Moments modes alongside the rally stages. Those features add ways to engage with rally beyond simply selecting a car and driving a stage. The guide’s car description is specifically tied to the 2023 season; it should not be read as a claim about a later championship roster.

Forza Horizon 5: consider open-world racing
Some players want to roam between events rather than follow a primarily circuit- or stage-based structure. PlayStation’s racing guide treats open-world racing as a distinct style for exploring broad areas and choosing more flexible competition, and lists Forza Horizon 5 in that category.
The guide alone does not establish the current platform edition or local availability for every buyer. Check your regional store for a PS5 edition and its details before purchasing.

- Pick Gran Turismo 7 if you want a broad road-car collection, tuning, circuit events, and a mix of solo, online, and local play.
- Pick EA Sports WRC if rally stages and adapting to dirt, snow, and asphalt sound more appealing than circuit racing.
- Look at an open-world racer if exploring between events and choosing activities freely matters more than a focused progression.
- Check your setup and store listing: confirm the exact PS5 edition, regional availability, and any hardware or account requirements. For GT7, PS VR2 is needed for VR features and a PlayStation account is needed for online features.
