Short answer: choose a portable steam sauna by matching the generator capacity, tent footprint, controls, electrical load and included chair to your room—not by the litre number alone. A 3L unit such as the Costway or Giantex models offers documented temperature and timer controls in a compact format. Giantex 3L: dual controls and storage accessories
Giantex documents a 3L generator with temperature adjustment from 95 to 145.5°F and a timer that reaches 90 minutes. It provides both panel and remote controls, a folding chair, a steam box, a wooden foot roller and a storage bag. The manufacturer describes overheat and no-dry-heating protection.

KOVE 4L: verify availability and the full specification sheet
KOVE lists a 4L steamer, chair and remote. The cited material does not state the temperature range, timer, tent dimensions, wattage or safety-shutoff details. Treat it as a candidate only after checking the regional listing and manual for those values. Regional availability can differ, and a 4L tank does not by itself prove a longer or hotter session.
BOOTECH: the highest stated electrical load

How to compare a portable sauna before buying
1. Generator capacity is a reservoir size, not a performance rating
A 3L or 4L label describes the amount of water the boiler can hold. It does not establish steam output, heat-up time, session duration or the maximum safe temperature. Two generators with the same capacity can use different heating elements and controls. Compare the published wattage, temperature range, timer and warm-up instructions together.

2. Temperature and timer controls determine usability

6. Safety claims are model-specific
Costway describes overheat and run-dry protection. Giantex describes overheat and no-dry-heating protection. Those are manufacturer claims, not a substitute for supervision or for following the manual. For models whose shutoffs are not stated, do not assume they exist. 7. Hose design and accessories affect daily setup

- End the session at the timer or earlier. Leave immediately if you feel dizzy, faint, nauseated, unusually short of breath or otherwise unwell. A timer is a convenience, not permission to sleep inside the tent.
- Power down and cool. Disconnect the steamer from power after use. The cited manual says to let the product cool thoroughly before disassembly.
- Drain, dry and store. Once cool, empty remaining water as directed, wipe moisture from the tent and accessories, and fold only when dry enough to prevent trapped dampness or odor.
Safety and health limits

Maintenance and storage
After every session
- Disconnect power and wait for complete cooling.
- Drain the boiler according to the manual rather than tipping a hot unit.
- Wipe condensation from the tent, chair and floor mat.
- Leave the enclosure open until the interior is dry.

Before long-term storage
