Best overall value: the Jackery Explorer 1000 V2. Best for a refrigerator and UPS use: the Anker SOLIX S2000. Best for maximum capacity under the limit: the EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max. These choices cover different jobs rather than one universal winner: a 1,000Wh-class station is easier to carry, while a 2,000Wh-class model runs essential appliances longer but weighs more. None is a substitute for a permanently wired, transfer-switch-backed home generator.
Prices move frequently. The figures below are dated examples: TechRadar reported $519 for the Jackery Explorer 1000 V2 on October 13, 2026; the Anker SOLIX S2000 was listed at $649.99; and a home-backup comparison placed the EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max at about $999. Confirm the current price, stock, included cables and regional model number before buying.

What the numbers mean
Watt-hours determine how long a load can run
Watt-hours (Wh) measure stored energy. A 2,000Wh station contains roughly twice the energy of a 1,000Wh station before losses in the inverter, wiring and the appliance’s own power supply. To estimate runtime, divide the station’s capacity by the appliance’s average draw, then reduce the result for conversion losses and reserve:

The 0.80 factor is a planning estimate, not a specification. Efficiency varies with load, temperature, battery age and whether you use AC, USB or 12V outputs. For example, a 60W networking setup could theoretically run for about 14 hours from a 1,070Wh station using that conservative calculation (1,070 × 0.80 ÷ 60). A 2,010Wh station would provide about 27 hours under the same assumptions. Measure your actual devices with a plug-in power meter when the duration matters.
Watts and surge watts determine whether an appliance starts
Continuous AC output is the load the inverter can sustain. Surge or peak output is a short-term allowance for startup currents. Refrigerator compressors, pumps and some power tools can draw several times their running wattage for a moment. A station can have plenty of Wh yet still fail to start a compressor if its inverter is undersized. Conversely, a 1,500W inverter may start a refrigerator but cannot safely power a 1,800W kettle at the same time.
Resistive heaters, space heaters, hair dryers and kettles consume large, steady loads. They exhaust a portable battery quickly even when their wattage is within the inverter rating. Treat the published continuous rating as a ceiling, leave headroom for startup, and add the running watts of every device that will be connected simultaneously.

Usable capacity is lower than the label
The capacity printed on a station describes the battery pack, not the energy delivered at every outlet. AC conversion, USB regulation, the station’s control electronics and the manufacturer’s reserve reduce usable energy. Keeping a reserve also helps during a long outage. Plan with measured or conservative figures instead of assuming every labeled Wh reaches your devices.
Detailed recommendations
Jackery Explorer 1000 V2: the portable value pick
The Explorer 1000 V2 combines a 1,070Wh LiFePO4 battery with a 1,500W AC inverter. That combination is well suited to phones, laptops, lights, camera chargers, a small refrigerator and other essential loads. TechRadar reported a $519 price on October 13, 2026, and identified a five-year warranty. The unit accepts optional solar charging; coverage of the model identifies compatible bifacial 200W panels.
Its strongest advantage is the balance between capability and mobility. A 1kWh-class station is easier to move from a car to a campsite, upstairs to a router or into a storage closet than most 2kWh units. It is also a sensible first station if your outage plan is limited to communications, lighting, refrigeration and device charging rather than heating or cooking.

Use the 1,500W rating carefully. A refrigerator’s compressor startup may be acceptable, but running a refrigerator, microwave and kettle together is not a realistic load plan. The optional solar input is useful away from an outlet, yet you must match the panel’s voltage and current to the station’s allowed range rather than connecting arbitrary panels.

TechRadar reviewer Alastair described its feature set as “an ideal choice for anyone needing mains-style power away from the home or office” and said it would run most domestic appliances up to 1,500W without issue. That is a statement about the reviewer’s assessment, not a guarantee for every appliance or a promise of whole-home operation.
Anker SOLIX S2000: the refrigerator and UPS pick
The SOLIX S2000 is a 2,010Wh-class station with 1,500W continuous AC output and a 3,000W peak figure in TechRadar’s report. Anker advertises up to 35 hours of refrigerator backup and a seamless UPS transfer time of less than 10ms. Its $649.99 cited price puts substantially more energy than a 1,000Wh model within the budget.
The refrigerator claim is a best-case-style manufacturer estimate, not a universal runtime. A refrigerator cycles rather than drawing its nameplate wattage continuously. Ambient temperature, how often the door opens, ice-making, food load, compressor condition and additional devices connected to the station all change the result. Use the 35-hour figure as an upper planning reference and test your own refrigerator before relying on it during an emergency.
UPS mode matters when a router, desktop computer, network-attached storage device or other sensitive equipment must remain powered while utility electricity fails. Less than 10ms is Anker’s advertised transfer performance; confirm in the manual that the specific outlets support UPS mode, whether pass-through charging is allowed, and whether your medical or computer equipment accepts that transfer behavior. A UPS output is not the same as surge protection for every fault condition.
EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max: the higher-capacity choice
The DELTA 2 Max is rated at 2,048Wh-class capacity and 2,400W output. A home-backup comparison placed it at about $999, so it uses almost the entire budget. Its appeal is straightforward: more stored energy than a 1,000Wh station and a higher continuous inverter ceiling for several essential loads.

That additional capacity is valuable when an outage may last overnight or when the station will stay in one place beside a refrigerator, modem, lights and charging hub. It is less attractive if you must carry it long distances at a campsite. Compare the fully packed weight, handles and wheel placement—not only the battery rating—before choosing it for frequent travel.
At roughly $999, a price change or missing accessory can push the purchase beyond the stated limit. Check whether the listing includes the AC charging cable, car lead and solar adapter you need. Confirm the regional AC input and solar specifications before ordering panels.
Jackery Explorer 2000 v2: a quiet high-capacity comparison point
The official product information lists the Explorer 2000 v2 at 2,042Wh, with a sub-30dB operating claim, app monitoring and solar/DC specifications. Those characteristics make it relevant for a quiet campsite or a stationary backup shelf. The available material does not establish a current street price, exact weight or every output limit, so treat it as a model to price-check rather than an automatic recommendation.

How much capacity do you need during an outage?
Start with an essential-load list
Write down the devices you would actually power, their running watts and how many hours each must operate. Prioritize refrigeration, communications, lighting, medical equipment and charging. Exclude electric space heating, electric water heating and cooking unless you have verified both their wattage and the station’s ability to sustain them; these loads can consume a battery in a short time.
- Read the nameplate. Record running and startup information for refrigerators, freezers, pumps and other motor loads.
- Measure uncertain loads. A plug-in watt meter shows a refrigerator’s cycling average more accurately than its maximum nameplate number.
- Group simultaneous loads. Add the watts of devices that will run at once and compare that total with continuous output. Add startup headroom for compressors and motors.
- Convert energy to Wh. Multiply each device’s average watts by the hours required, add the results, and divide by an efficiency factor such as 0.80 for planning.
- Keep reserve. Do not plan to drain the battery to zero; reserve energy for changing conditions, communications and unexpected loads.
Example: refrigerator, network gear and lights
Suppose a refrigerator averages 70W over its duty cycle, a modem and router together use 20W, and LED lights use 20W for four hours each evening. The refrigerator needs 1,680Wh over 24 hours at its measured average, networking needs 480Wh, and lights need 80Wh. The total is 2,240Wh before conversion losses, so a 2,000Wh-class station will not deliver a full day with that exact plan. You could reduce the target by running lights for fewer hours, powering networking only when needed, adding solar during daylight or using a second battery where the model supports it.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
This example illustrates why the Anker’s advertised 35-hour refrigerator figure cannot be transferred directly to a complete household load. Every additional device consumes part of the same finite energy reserve.
Can a station run a refrigerator?
Yes, a suitably rated station can run many household refrigerators, but three checks are essential: compressor startup surge, average running watts and required duration. The S2000’s reported 1,500W continuous and 3,000W peak output provide more inverter headroom than many compact units. The Explorer 1000 V2’s 1,500W AC rating may also be sufficient, but you should verify the refrigerator’s startup behavior instead of relying only on its running label.
Connect the refrigerator directly to the station rather than through a long, undersized extension cord. Disable optional high-draw features such as ice-making if you need to extend runtime. Keep the refrigerator closed during an outage, and monitor the station’s displayed load and remaining Wh so you can change the plan before the battery is empty.
Choosing a station for camping
Weight and handling come before maximum Wh
For car camping, a 1,000Wh-class station generally offers a practical balance for phones, cameras, laptops, lights, a small cooler and occasional small appliances. A 2,000Wh-class model provides longer runtime but makes every move from vehicle to tent or cabin harder. The published material does not provide comparable weights for the four models, so inspect the current specification sheet and look for a rigid handle, balanced grip and wheels if the unit will be moved often.
Noise affects sleep and campsite etiquette
Fan noise rises with load and charging. The Explorer 2000 v2 has a stated sub-30dB operating claim, but that figure may describe a particular mode or load. Ask what conditions the number represents and whether fans run during AC charging. For a tent or quiet campground, place the station on a stable, ventilated surface away from sleeping areas and use DC or USB outputs where possible to avoid unnecessary inverter losses and fan activity.
12V and solar considerations
Campers often benefit from a regulated 12V output for coolers, lights and other DC equipment. Verify the outlet’s voltage, current limit and whether it is regulated under changing battery charge. Solar input is equally important off-grid: check the station’s maximum solar wattage, allowed voltage range, connector type and whether an adapter is included. The Explorer 1000 V2 coverage identifies compatible bifacial 200W panels, but compatibility still depends on the panel’s electrical specifications and the station’s input limits.

Solar rarely delivers its rated panel wattage continuously. Shade, angle, cloud, heat and cable losses reduce production. Size panels within the station’s limits, orient them for the available sun, and treat charging time as variable rather than promising a fixed number of hours.
UPS use, medical equipment and sensitive electronics
A portable station in UPS mode can keep a router or computer powered through a brief utility interruption, but the behavior differs by model and outlet. The S2000’s advertised transfer time is under 10ms. Before depending on it, verify that the desired AC outlets remain active in UPS mode, that pass-through charging is supported, and that the connected device does not require a specialized medical-grade UPS waveform or certification.
For CPAP users, identify the machine’s DC input options and humidifier draw. A heated humidifier can consume far more energy than the blower. Using an approved DC cable may avoid AC inverter losses, but only use a cable rated for the CPAP model’s voltage and connector. Test a full night at home, with the exact humidity and heated-tube settings, before an outage or trip. Do not treat a portable station as a substitute for advice from your clinician or the equipment manufacturer.

Charging and operating checklist
- Initial inspection: check the case, display, ports and cables for shipping damage. Read the model-specific manual before connecting a load.
- First charge: charge from a suitable wall outlet until the station indicates full, then install any available firmware update through the manufacturer’s official app if the manual requires one.
- Load test: connect the intended refrigerator, CPAP, router or camping devices one at a time. Watch startup behavior, displayed watts and battery percentage.
- Configure modes: enable UPS mode only on outlets and equipment you have tested. Set any auto-off or low-power mode so it does not shut down a low-draw router or CPAP.
- Plan cables: keep AC, car and solar cables with the station. Use outdoor-rated extension cords only when necessary, fully uncoil them, and keep connections dry.
- Store safely: keep the unit indoors in a dry, moderate-temperature location, away from combustible materials. Check the manual for its recommended storage charge and periodic top-up interval.
- Rehearse the outage plan: simulate a few hours on battery, record actual consumption and update your essential-load list.
Safety and limitations
- Never backfeed a house. Plugging a station into a wall outlet can energize wiring dangerously. Use individual appliances or a professionally installed transfer system designed for the equipment.
- Ventilation is still required. Keep air inlets and fans clear. Do not operate a charging station in a sealed cabinet, vehicle trunk or sleeping space.
- Keep moisture away. Portable does not mean waterproof. Protect the station and connectors from rain, condensation and flooding.
- Respect output limits. Continuous wattage, surge capability and outlet-specific limits all matter. A power strip can make it easy to exceed the inverter rating.
- Inspect batteries and cables. Stop using a unit that is swollen, cracked, unusually hot, smoking or producing an odor; isolate it from combustibles and follow the manufacturer’s support and disposal instructions.
- Account for temperature. Very cold or hot conditions can reduce available capacity, charging speed and battery life.
How to choose among the recommendations
Choose the Explorer 1000 V2 when mobility and price matter most
Select it when your priority is a manageable station for camping, communications, lighting and short refrigerator support, and when the cited $519 price is available. Its 1,070Wh capacity is the compromise: easier to carry, but less endurance than the 2,000Wh options.
Choose the SOLIX S2000 when the refrigerator and UPS are central
Select it when you need a larger energy reserve, want the reported 3,000W peak capability for motor startup and specifically value Anker’s under-10ms UPS claim. Confirm outlet behavior and test your refrigerator before treating the advertised 35-hour figure as an emergency plan.
Choose the DELTA 2 Max when you can spend nearly $1,000 for more output
Select it when 2,048Wh-class capacity and 2,400W output justify the near-$999 price and the station will usually remain close to the loads. It is the least compelling option for long carries unless its verified weight and handling meet your camping needs.
Consider the Explorer 2000 v2 when quiet operation and app monitoring are priorities
Its 2,042Wh capacity, sub-30dB claim and app monitoring are attractive on paper. Verify current price, weight, output and solar limits before deciding, because those details determine whether it beats the better-documented alternatives for your use.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsPrice, stock and accessory checks before purchase
The cited market examples include $519 for the Explorer 1000 V2, $649.99 for the SOLIX S2000, about $999 for the DELTA 2 Max and $499 for an EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic example. These are time-sensitive figures, not guaranteed prices. The DELTA 3 Classic price alone is not enough to judge value because comparable capacity, output, weight and included accessories were not established here.
