There is no single best PC preset established for Gears of War: E-Day. Start with the official PC requirements for your hardware tier, choose whether frame rate or image quality matters more, then compare the available graphics and upscaling options at your actual display resolution. The game also includes practical accessibility controls, so tune readability, audio, and input options alongside graphics.
Check the official PC requirements before tuning
The Coalition published its final launch PC specifications in September 2026, with the specification image updated September 28. Check the official Xbox Wire announcement and its embedded tier chart for the CPU, GPU, memory, operating system, and SSD requirements. Use the tier headings as published rather than assuming a listed component guarantees a particular resolution or frame rate.
The Coalition says it iterated on PC stability and performance after the July multiplayer beta. The title is built on Unreal Engine 5 and DirectX 12, and its stated feature set includes hardware ray tracing. Those details describe the technology and development goals; they are not a benchmark for your particular PC.
Choose your performance or image-quality priority
On first launch, the game’s Graphics tab includes mode graphics controls for Campaign, Horde Siege, and Versus. The official support guide describes a choice between prioritizing higher frame rate and higher quality, and notes that the game detects a 120 Hz output. These are useful starting points, not a universal PC recipe for a specific GPU or resolution. See Gears of War Support’s accessibility and first-launch guide for the documented menu options.

- 【INTEGRATED SPEAKERS】Whether you're at work or in the midst of an intense gaming session, our built-in speakers provide rich and seamless audio, all while keeping your desk clutter-free.
- 【EASY ON THE EYES】 Protect your eyes and enhance your comfort with Blue-Light Shift technology. This feature reduces harmful blue light emissions from your screen, helping to alleviate eye strain during long hours of use and promoting healthier viewing habits.
- 【WIDEN YOUR PERSPECTIVE】Our sleek minimal bezel design ensures undivided attention. The nearly bezel-free display seamlessly connects in a dual monitor arrangement, delivering an unobstructed view that lets you focus on more at once, completely distraction-free.
- Prioritize responsiveness: Choose the higher-frame-rate option if smooth motion and quick input response matter most, particularly in competitive play.
- Prioritize image fidelity: Choose the higher-quality option if visual detail is more important than maximizing frame rate.
- Make the choice per mode: Campaign, Horde Siege, and Versus have separate documented mode controls, so you need not use one priority everywhere.
For a practical tuning pass, use the PC tier that matches your hardware and your normal output resolution as the baseline. Compare the same scene after changing one demanding option at a time; judge both visual clarity and frame pacing rather than relying only on a peak frame-rate reading. This is a method for making a fair comparison on your own system, not a game-specific tested benchmark.
Compare upscalers on your own GPU and resolution
The officially listed technology families include NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 with Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution, NVIDIA Reflex, AMD FSR, Unreal Engine TSR, and Intel XeSS. The Xbox Wire PC feature announcement establishes support for these technologies, but does not show that one upscaler is best on every graphics card.

Compare supported options at the resolution you intend to play. Look for a balance of clear detail and consistent frame pacing, and account for GPU compatibility and input responsiveness. A result on one card or resolution cannot establish the best choice for another system.
Understand what Advanced Shader Delivery changes
Microsoft says Advanced Shader Delivery (ASD) can supply precompiled shaders with the game download on supported systems, reducing CPU work at launch, first-launch shader waiting, and shader-related stutter. The DirectX Developer Blog reports an approximately 95% reduction in shader compilation time for ASD in 2026; that figure applies to shader compilation time, not FPS or all loading time. See Microsoft’s DirectX Developer Blog for the current compatibility conditions.

- Immersive & Clear Viewing: 1500R curvature reduces image distortion and eyestrain. 160Hz refresh rate, 1ms (MPRT) response time, FreeSync
- Color Control: 4000:1 Contrast Ratio, 300 nits Brightness & 110% sRGB color coverage, Low Blue Light, Anti-Flicker/Anti-Glare, HDR Mode(can be enabled in the OSD menu only when connected via an HDMI port). If color not showing great on games, try to change color setting or just turn on the HDR mode.
- Jacks: HDMI 2.0(160Hz max), DP 1.4(160Hz max), Audio Jack(No Speakers) | VESA 100x100mm | Tilt (-5°~15°±2°).
Microsoft’s post specifies Windows 11 24H2 or higher and supported hardware and driver conditions, and says to install the Xbox PC app before downloading the game to experience ASD. Support and rollout details can change, so check the post against your current system. ASD addresses shader preparation; it does not promise higher average frame rates.
Adjust accessibility and readability controls
The game’s first-launch flow and Accessibility tab include controls for text, subtitles, audio, visual effects, and input. Available options documented by the support guide include:

TechRadar’s October 2026 review also describes high-contrast mode and navigation aids; treat that as review-reported context, while the official support guide is the stronger source for the controls listed above. Set these options according to your reading comfort, sensory preferences, and control needs rather than treating them as secondary to graphics quality.

TechRadar reviewer Dashiell Wood reports that on his RTX 4090-powered PC, the game “could easily hit a rock-solid 75 frames per second (fps) at ultra settings while playing at 1080p.” This is one reviewer’s observation on that GPU, preset, and resolution, not a controlled comparison across graphics cards or a prediction for other PCs. See the TechRadar review for its context.
