There is no single best PC settings preset for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Start with your goal: reduce visual distractions and protect frame-rate consistency for competitive play, or keep more detail for a sharper, higher-fidelity image. Your GPU, resolution, and monitor refresh rate determine which tradeoffs make sense. Activision’s guidance is to adjust graphics to fit your hardware, rather than follow a universal preset.

Check your PC against the game’s requirements first

Call of Duty’s PC requirements provide useful context for choosing settings. These are the launch-era hardware tiers listed on the official Black Ops 6 PC requirements page, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate or image quality on every system.

Tier Processor Graphics card RAM Video memory Other listed requirements
Minimum Ryzen 5 1400 or Core i5-6600 Radeon RX 470, GeForce GTX 960, or Intel Arc A580 8 GB 2 GB Windows 10 64-bit, SSD, broadband internet
Recommended Ryzen 5 1600X or Core i7-6700K Radeon RX 6600 XT, GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, or RTX 3060 12 GB 8 GB Windows 10/11 64-bit, SSD, broadband internet
Competitive/4K Ultra Ryzen 7 2700X or Core i7-8700K Radeon RX 6800 XT, GeForce RTX 3080, or RTX 4070 16 GB 10 GB Windows 10/11 64-bit, SSD, broadband internet

Use the tiers as a rough starting point: if your hardware is nearer the minimum tier, prioritize performance and reduce demanding visual options if needed. A system closer to the higher tier has more room to pursue image quality, but the requirements do not specify an exact FPS target. The listed install size is not included here because storage figures can change and should be checked on the current platform listing.

Choose a settings direction for your goal

Activision’s Black Ops 6 Controls & Settings guide says: “For the most part, the graphics settings should be adjusted to fit your hardware best.” Use the following as starting approaches, then compare how the game feels and performs on your PC.

Goal Starting approach Main tradeoff
Competitive multiplayer Keep the monitor’s native resolution if your PC can sustain the refresh rate you want. Reduce costly visual-quality options if performance or consistency falls short. Turn off motion blur and depth of field if the current menu offers them and you prefer a clearer image. Less visual polish in exchange for a less cluttered view and potentially more performance headroom; actual results depend on the PC and settings.
Balanced play Keep native output resolution where practical. If native rendering does not meet your performance target, try a supported upscaling option in a quality-oriented mode. Upscaling can change image appearance; the official materials do not identify one best mode or sharpening value for all systems.
Higher visual fidelity Favor native-resolution rendering and higher visual quality when your PC can maintain the frame rate you want. Adjust settings downward if performance becomes inconsistent. Greater visual detail can demand more from the GPU and may make it harder to sustain a high refresh rate.

Make changes one group at a time and compare the result in the same type of gameplay. That makes it easier to tell whether a change actually improves clarity or consistency on your system.

Set resolution, upscaling, and frame generation deliberately

Native resolution is a sensible first choice when your PC can meet your performance goal. If it cannot, the game’s PC materials identify AMD FSR 3.1 temporal upscaling as an available option. Try it when you need performance headroom, but judge image clarity in motion and at distance rather than assuming one quality setting is universally best.

Samsung 27" Odyssey G5 (G51F) Series QHD (1440P) Gaming Monitor
  • QHD Resolution (2560 x 1440) has 1.7 times the pixel density of Full HD for incredibly detailed pinsharp images
  • HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadow for added depth - making every scene feel more vivid and realistic
  • The 180Hz refresh rate minimizes lag for gameplay with ultra-smooth action. Plus, the 1ms response time helps capture your moves in real-time, allowing you to react fast for gaming precision
  • AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
  • Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort

The launch article also describes frame generation and CAS sharpening. Frame generation may increase displayed frames, but the cited material does not quantify its latency or establish that it is suitable for competitive multiplayer. Consider it an option to evaluate for your own priorities, not a default recommendation. The sources likewise do not establish a universally optimal CAS sharpening value.

Choose an FOV that balances awareness and image shape

Field of view (FOV) changes how much of the scene fits on screen. Activision’s guide describes 70 or less as an example of a low FOV: it focuses attention on what is ahead, but can leave opponents just outside the view. A value higher than 90 shows more of the battlefield, though it can create a fisheye effect depending on hardware.

Dell 27 240Hz Gaming Monitor - SE2726HG - 27-inch FHD (1920x1080) Display, in-Plane Switching (IPS) Technology, AMD FreeSync Premium, TÜV 3-Star, 2X HDMI, DisplayPort 1.4, Tilt
  • Smooth motion: 240Hz refresh rate and fast 0.5ms response time provide crisp visuals and fluid movement with less input lag.
  • Seamless gaming: FreeSync Premium and HDMI VRR eliminate tearing for smooth, responsive PC and console gameplay.
  • Fast IPS: Faster 0.5ms response with excellent color accuracy across wide IPS viewing angles.
  • Rich color: 99% sRGB color coverage delivers vivid, detailed imagery with strong accuracy.
  • Eye comfort: TÜV Rheinland 3‑star certified display lowers blue light while preserving color quality.

There is no required value. Try a comfortable middle or higher setting, then adjust based on whether you need peripheral awareness or prefer a less distorted-looking image. ONE Esports’ May 2025 performance guide suggests FOV 110, but that is a secondary-source recommendation, not an official or universal optimum.

Set your aiming device before joining a match

Choose keyboard and mouse or controller before entering a lobby. Activision says you cannot switch between those aiming input devices during a match. If you cannot find a setting, the official guide points to the in-game search field as a way to locate it.

How to tune the settings on your PC

  1. Choose your target. Decide whether consistent performance, competitive visibility, or visual quality matters most, and consider your monitor’s resolution and refresh rate.
  2. Start at native resolution. If your PC cannot maintain the performance you want, reduce demanding visual-quality settings before changing resolution.
  3. Adjust FOV to taste. Compare awareness around the edges of the screen with image distortion and comfort.
  4. Test optional features individually. Evaluate FSR 3.1, frame generation, and sharpening separately; keep only the options that suit your priorities.
  5. Compare in similar gameplay. Change one setting group at a time and assess frame-rate consistency, clarity at distance, and responsiveness rather than relying on a universal FPS claim.

The official settings guidance was published October 23, 2024, and the cited secondary competitive recommendation dates to May 2025. Menu labels or behavior may differ in a later game update, so use the current in-game options rather than assuming every label is unchanged.
