Start with Mirror’s Edge. It is the closest follow-up when what you liked about Vasya Run was momentum, reading a route at speed and chaining movement without a large layer of extra systems. Choose Ghostrunner if you want that precision combined with lethal first-person sword combat and a demanding retry loop. Pick Dying Light 2 Stay Human when parkour should serve a larger open-world survival-action game. Keep Vholume on a watch list until its release status is confirmed for your platform.
The useful distinction is not simply “which game has parkour?” All four use movement differently: one makes flow the main event, one makes every traversal decision part of combat, one treats movement as the way you cross a broad world, and one is built around atmospheric races and ghost competition.
The short list at a glance
Use this table to identify the shape of game you want before reading the longer breakdowns. “Movement priority” describes what the game most consistently asks you to master; it does not mean the other systems are absent.
| Game | Movement versus combat | World structure | Difficulty and retries | Style of movement | Play modes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mirror’s Edge | Movement-first; combat supports the escape-and-route fantasy | Authored stages with exploration and time trials | Demanding lines can be retried without turning the game into a combat challenge | Flow, momentum and readable routes | Solo campaign and time-trial play |
| Ghostrunner | Parkour and sword combat are tightly coupled | Authored, precision-focused stages | High difficulty with a deliberate retry loop | Arcade precision in a cyberpunk setting | Single-player |
| Dying Light 2 Stay Human | Traversal supports a broader survival-action game | Large open-world exploration | More tolerant of changing pace than a pure time-trial game | Practical movement for navigation and encounters | Solo and broader multiplayer features; check the current edition for exact support |
| Vholume | Movement and atmosphere are the stated focus; final balance is not yet established | Parkour adventure structure with real-time races and ghost competition | Not fully established until release and player testing | Melancholic, cinematic first-person parkour | Availability and final modes should be checked before buying |
Mirror’s Edge: the clearest movement-first follow-up
Why it matches the appeal of Vasya Run
If your favorite moments in Vasya Run come from seeing a route, committing to it and preserving speed through a sequence of jumps, climbs and turns, Mirror’s Edge is the safest recommendation. Its design keeps your attention on where to go and how to maintain flow rather than asking you to manage a large inventory, build or roster.

Electronic Arts describes the premise as: “Fight oppression and claim your freedom as you run, maneuver, and battle through the futuristic city of Glass.” That wording is useful because it places running and maneuvering before battle. Combat exists, but the identity of the game is movement through an authored city rather than fighting your way between movement sections.
What you actually do
The core loop is route reading. You scan the environment for a viable line, use available surfaces to keep moving, and adjust when the obvious path is slower or blocked. The game’s first-person view makes small decisions matter: a turn taken too sharply, a jump started from the wrong angle or a missed landing can break the rhythm of an otherwise clean run.
Steam presents the game around parkour, exploration and time trials. Those time trials are important for readers who want to replay a route after finishing it. A campaign completion answers “can I get through this?”; a time trial asks “can I find a faster, cleaner line?” That second question is where the game most closely serves players who enjoy repeatable movement challenges.

Difficulty, pacing and trade-offs
Mirror’s Edge is a better fit for players who accept occasional failed jumps but do not want every mistake to become a combat encounter. Its challenge comes from spatial judgment, timing and maintaining momentum. When you need a breather, exploration and the campaign’s authored progression provide a different pace from chasing a leaderboard-quality run.
The trade-off is scope. This is not the choice for someone whose main requirement is a huge world to roam freely for dozens of hours. Its strength is that each space is arranged to make movement legible, tense and replayable. If you want a parkour game that treats the environment as a route puzzle, that focus is an advantage rather than a limitation.
Evidence of player reception
At the time of the cited search, Steam listed 86% positive English-language reviews from 15,240 reviews. That figure is a snapshot, not a permanent score; the total and percentage can change as new reviews are added.

Ghostrunner: parkour under combat pressure
What changes compared with a movement-only game
Ghostrunner takes first-person parkour and places it inside a cyberpunk action game where traversal and sword combat are tightly coupled. You are not simply crossing a room and then entering a separate fight. Position, timing and route choice determine whether you can reach an opponent safely, keep moving and create the next opening.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →That coupling makes it the right recommendation for readers who want hard parkour with combat. It also changes the emotional rhythm. In Mirror’s Edge, a clean line can feel like a dance through a city. In Ghostrunner, the same kind of precision is loaded with immediate danger: a missed movement decision can compromise the fight that follows.
Why the retry loop matters
The game is presented as a single-player experience built around demanding traversal and combat. Player descriptions consistently frame it as difficult and precision-oriented. Expect to repeat sections while learning the timing rather than treating a failed attempt as evidence that your character needs a stronger build.
This structure suits players who enjoy short feedback cycles. You try a route, identify the exact moment where control was lost, and make a specific adjustment on the next attempt. It is less suitable if you want a relaxed traversal game in which you can improvise without frequently resetting your plan.
Movement style and learning curve
The movement is best understood as arcade precision rather than a simulation of real-world parkour. The appeal comes from reliable inputs, fast decisions and the satisfaction of executing a sequence under pressure. You are rewarded for reading space quickly and committing to a plan, but the game expects concentration even when you already understand the route.

Because combat is part of the same problem, route knowledge alone is not enough. You must account for where an encounter begins, where you can move next and how much room you have to correct a mistake. That makes Ghostrunner a strong second choice after Vasya Run for players who want their movement skill tested more aggressively.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human: parkour in an open world
When a larger world matters more than a pure movement challenge
Dying Light 2 Stay Human is the open-world branch of this list. PCGamesN’s 2024 parkour guide places it alongside Mirror’s Edge and Ghostrunner for readers looking for parkour games, but its role is different: movement is embedded in a broader survival-action game rather than isolated as the sole objective.
Choose it when the question is not “which game has the cleanest time trial?” but “which game lets me use parkour to move through a larger place while dealing with other activities?” The open-world structure gives traversal a practical purpose. You are crossing districts, reaching objectives and deciding how much time to spend moving efficiently versus exploring.
How its parkour changes the decision
In a stage-based game, designers can place every jump and landing to support a particular line. In an open world, you often have more than one viable direction. That freedom makes movement feel less like solving a fixed course and more like choosing your own route through a connected environment.
The benefit is variety. A single session can shift between purposeful travel, incidental discovery and survival-action encounters. The cost is that the movement challenge is less concentrated than in a dedicated time-trial game. If your satisfaction depends on shaving seconds from the same route, Mirror’s Edge is the more direct fit. If you want parkour to remain useful while the game keeps changing the context around it, Dying Light 2 Stay Human is the stronger choice.
Difficulty and social considerations
The open-world format generally allows a more flexible pace than a precision stage. You can leave a difficult objective, approach from another direction or spend time learning the surrounding space. That does not make every encounter easy; it means the game gives you more ways to respond than a tightly authored run.
The game is also the option to investigate if solo play is not your only requirement. The exact co-op or multiplayer features depend on the edition and current platform support, so verify those details before purchase rather than assuming every release has identical functionality.

Vholume: a watch-list candidate, not a confirmed recommendation
What has been announced
PC Gamer described Vholume as “a melancholic first-person parkour adventure.” Its coverage also highlighted real-time races and competition against ghost runs, a structure that should appeal to players who enjoy improving a route without needing direct multiplayer contact.

Why it is worth watching
The combination of first-person movement, a reflective tone and ghost competition suggests a different target from the combat-heavy choices above. It may suit players who want the concentration of racing a line with a more atmospheric presentation. However, final handling, course variety, difficulty and technical performance are not established here, so it cannot displace the released recommendations on evidence alone.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which game should you pick?
Follow this decision path
- Put movement above everything else. Pick Mirror’s Edge. Its identity is built around running, maneuvering, exploration and time trials.
- Want movement to make combat harder and more exciting? Pick Ghostrunner. Its traversal and sword fighting are designed as one precision problem.
- Need a broad world to roam? Pick Dying Light 2 Stay Human. It is the list’s open-world survival-action option.
- Prefer atmosphere and competitive route improvement, and can wait or verify availability? Watch Vholume for its announced races and ghost competition.
Match the game to your tolerance for repetition
Think about what you want a failed attempt to teach you. In Mirror’s Edge, the lesson is usually about a line, a turn or the preservation of momentum. In Ghostrunner, the lesson can include both movement and the combat arrangement waiting at the end of that movement. In Dying Light 2 Stay Human, you have more freedom to change the situation instead of repeating one exact sequence. Vholume may emphasize repeated races, but its final retry design still needs confirmation.
Match the game to your preferred sense of realism
None of these choices should be selected solely because they use the word “parkour.” Mirror’s Edge presents movement as readable, stylish flow through a designed city. Ghostrunner pushes toward fast, arcade-like precision in a cyberpunk action setting. Dying Light 2 Stay Human treats parkour as practical traversal inside a survival-action world. Vholume is described in more emotional and atmospheric terms, with races and ghost competition as its measurable challenge.

Start by learning routes, not chasing speed
On a first pass, identify reliable lines and note where your momentum breaks. Speed becomes useful only after you can repeat the route. This approach is especially valuable in Mirror’s Edge and any future race-focused game, because a slower line that succeeds consistently gives you a foundation for later optimization.

Separate movement errors from combat errors
In Ghostrunner, ask whether an attempt failed because the traversal was wrong or because the combat decision after it was wrong. Treating both as one vague problem makes retries feel random. Isolating the mistake gives each attempt a concrete purpose.
Use open-world freedom deliberately
In Dying Light 2 Stay Human, do not assume that the most direct route is always the most enjoyable one. The point of its structure is that traversal can be navigation, discovery or preparation for an encounter. Choose the style of travel that matches your current goal instead of judging it by the standards of a time trial.
Buying and availability checks
Before purchasing any of these games, verify the current platform listing, edition name, regional availability and whether the features you want are included in that edition. This matters most for Vholume, whose August 21 date was reported as an announced release date in 2026 coverage rather than a guarantee of current availability. It also matters for readers seeking co-op support in Dying Light 2 Stay Human, because platform and edition details can differ.
For Mirror’s Edge, remember that the 86% Steam figure is a review snapshot from 15,240 English-language reviews at the time of access, not a promise about your experience or a permanently fixed rating. For every game, check the store page you will actually use for the latest patches, input support and system requirements.
Bottom line
Mirror’s Edge is the best first stop after Vasya Run because it keeps momentum, route reading and movement at the center. Move to Ghostrunner for a harder, combat-integrated test; choose Dying Light 2 Stay Human for open-world traversal inside survival action; and keep Vholume on your watch list until its announced release and final features are confirmed.
