There is no single best mouse for every person or task. For desk work, the Logitech MX Master 4 is a productivity-focused choice; for competitive FPS play, consider the Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2; and for a larger, right-handed palm grip, the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro is a shape-led alternative. The right pick depends on hand size, grip, preferred weight and controls, connectivity, and budget.

Which wireless mouse should you choose?

Use case Shortlist Why it may fit What to consider
Productivity and desk work Logitech MX Master 4 Tom’s Guide’s 2026 wireless mouse guide praises its comfort and customization. Tom’s Guide also flags its price and says some updates may divide users and its haptics may feel gimmicky. A PC Gamer writer describes its shape as suited to all-day work but its sensor as poor for gaming; that is the writer’s experience, not an independent test for this article.
Competitive FPS Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 Logitech positions it for FPS and lists high-end tracking and wireless polling specifications. Maximum DPI and polling are not requirements for most players. Check the exact variant and current specifications before buying.
Right-handed palm grip, medium or larger hands Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro RTINGS describes it as larger than the Logitech and better suited to medium or larger hands using a palm grip. Those are comparative observations, not a guarantee of individual comfort. PC Gamer’s April 2026 roundup instead ranked the Razer Viper V4 Pro at the top of its wireless gaming guide.

These are use-case recommendations, not a universal ranking. A work mouse can be an awkward gaming choice, while a lightweight gaming model may lack the scroll controls or customization useful at a desk.

Best mouse for productivity: Logitech MX Master 4

For long stretches of everyday computer work, comfort, scrolling, and customizable controls can matter more than gaming-oriented sensor figures. Tom’s Guide called the MX Master 4 its best wireless mouse in its 2026 guide, praising comfort and customization. That is Tom’s Guide’s editorial judgment, not a consensus or a claim that the mouse suits every hand.

There are trade-offs. Tom’s Guide says the mouse is pricey, that some updates may be divisive, and that its haptics may feel gimmicky. PC Gamer’s October 2, 2026 article presents a useful distinction: its writer uses a work-first MX Master 4 for all-day work and a separate gaming mouse, describing the MX Master’s shape as comfortable for work but its sensor as poor for gaming. This is one writer’s experience, not testing conducted for this guide.

Best mouse for competitive FPS: Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2

For competitive FPS, a lighter, gaming-focused mouse with responsive wireless performance and tracking is a more relevant starting point than a productivity mouse’s extra controls. Logitech associates the PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 with FPS use in its gaming guidance.

What its specifications mean

Logitech G’s product specifications, accessed October 4, 2026, list up to 44,000 DPI, tracking above 888 IPS, and LIGHTSPEED wireless with polling up to 8 kHz. These are manufacturer specifications, not measures of how much performance every player will gain. Most buyers do not need to set the mouse to its maximum DPI or polling rate; fit, control, and a stable setup matter more than chasing the highest number.

Published weight figures conflict: Logitech’s gaming guide describes the mouse as about 63 g, while a Logitech Support result lists 60 g. Because the exact variant and specification context are not settled here, verify the current weight for the particular model before relying on either figure.

A shape-led alternative: Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro

If you use a palm grip and have medium or larger hands, the DeathAdder V4 Pro is worth comparing with the Logitech. RTINGS characterizes the Razer as slightly larger and more suitable for that hand-and-grip combination, while finding its overall gaming performance comparable to the Logitech. Those observations help narrow a shortlist; they cannot predict whether a specific shape will feel comfortable to you.

Logitech M510 Full Size Ambidextrous 2.4 GHz Wireless Mouse
  • Your hand can relax in comfort hour after hour with this ergonomically designed mouse. Its contoured shape with soft rubber grips, gently curved sides and broad palm area give you the support you need for effortless control all day long.
  • You’ve got the control to do more, faster. Flipping through photo albums and Web pages is a breeze, especially for right-handers—with three standard buttons plus Back/Forward buttons that you can also program to switch applications, go full screen and more. And side-to-side scrolling plus zoom gives you the power to scroll horizontally and vertically through your music library, maps and Facebook feeds, and zoom in and out of photos and budget spreadsheets with a click.* * Requires Logitech SetPoint software (Windows) or Logitech Control Center software (Mac OS X)
  • Two years of battery life practically eliminates the need to replace batteries. ** The On/Off switch helps conserve power, smart sleep mode extends battery life and an indicator light eliminates surprises. ** Battery life may vary based on user and computing conditions.
  • The tiny Logitech Unifying receiver stays in your laptop. There’s no need to unplug it when you move around, so there’s less worry of it being lost. And you can easily add compatible wireless mice and keyboards to the same wireless receiver.

Rankings also vary by publisher and date. PC Gamer’s wireless gaming guide named the Razer Viper V4 Pro its top pick in its April 2026 update, replacing the DeathAdder V4 Pro. That is PC Gamer’s ranking at that update, not a universal verdict; check the publisher’s current guide if roundup placement matters to your decision.

How to match a mouse to your hand and setup

Logitech’s gaming guide puts the basic decision plainly: “While polling rate and latency are factors to consider, choosing the best gaming mouse still depends on your grip and hand size.” Logitech also recommends checking comfort over long gaming sessions. Treat that as practical fit guidance, not a promise of ergonomic or medical benefit.

  • Hand size and grip: Consider whether you use a palm, claw, or fingertip grip, then compare the mouse’s shape and size to what feels controlled in your hand. Logitech says hand size and grip should guide the choice; RTINGS’ observations about the two gaming models are comparative, not individual fit guarantees.
  • Task: Prioritize scrolling and customizable controls for desk work; prioritize comfortable, controlled movement and gaming-focused tracking for FPS. Logitech’s guide associates the G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 with FPS and the G502 X Plus with MMO/MOBA palm-grip use, which is manufacturer positioning rather than independent comparative testing.
  • Controls and connection: Decide whether you need extra buttons or scroll controls, and check which wireless modes, receiver, software, and charging method the exact model requires. The available product evidence here does not establish a full model-by-model comparison of those features.
  • Budget and availability: Compare current local prices and stock for the exact model and variant. No current price or availability claim is established here.

When one mouse is the wrong compromise

A single device may not excel at both a full workday and competitive gaming. A productivity-first shape and controls can suit desk work but feel less appropriate for fast gaming; a gaming-focused mouse may omit work-oriented scroll or customization features. PC Gamer’s writer describes using a separate gaming mouse alongside the MX Master 4, but that is an individual preference rather than a requirement. If you use a computer for both tasks, choose the compromise that matters least—or compare separate devices by how each will be used.
