1. Match the output to the destination

Privacy and permissions checklist
Extensions can request access to page content, tabs, browsing activity, downloads, or other data. Microsoft’s Edge privacy guidance says an extension specifies the data it needs and Edge asks for permission before installation.
- Open the extension’s permissions panel in the Edge Add-ons listing.
- Read the developer’s privacy policy, including retention, analytics, and sharing language.
- Ask whether the extension can read pages containing customer records, credentials, payment data, or internal URLs.
- Install from the official Edge Add-ons store and keep the extension updated.
- On a managed computer, obtain administrator approval rather than bypassing policy.
Managed devices and missing Screenshot
Microsoft’s policy catalog names WebCaptureEnabled as the policy controlling Edge Screenshot (formerly Web Capture). An organization can therefore hide or disable the command even when Edge itself is current. If the shortcut and context-menu item are absent, contact your administrator and ask whether that policy is disabled. Do not infer that an extension is permitted: enterprise controls may also block store installation or restrict which sites an extension can read.
Troubleshooting captures
The shortcut does nothing
Try the right-click Screenshot command. If both are missing, restart Edge, check for an update, and ask whether WebCaptureEnabled is managed by your organization.
The bottom of the page is missing
Wait for lazy-loaded content, scroll through the page once, close sticky overlays, and retry. Some pages load content only after interaction; an extension cannot guarantee a complete result on every site.

Dismiss the overlay before capturing, or use an extension’s documented editing tools to crop it afterward. Review permissions before allowing an extension to operate on sensitive pages.

The file is too large to open
Prefer a PDF or a split-image workflow for exceptionally long pages. GoFullPage’s listing specifically describes splitting very large captures; confirm the current option in its interface.
PDF or image output differs from the screen
Web fonts, animations, cross-origin frames, print styles, and responsive breakpoints can change rendering. Capture after the page settles and record the Edge version and viewport when the result is evidence for a bug report.
An extension disappears after installation
Open edge://extensions, confirm it is enabled, and pin it from the Extensions menu. If the controls are locked, an administrator policy is responsible.
