The Logitech G Pro X3 Superstrike is a $199.99, 59 g symmetrical wireless mouse with adjustable HITS actuation and reset points, up to 8 kHz polling, and a manufacturer-rated battery life of 135+ hours. Its shape is usually a better starting point for claw and fingertip users than for palm users. The best replacement depends more on shell geometry and click preference than on maximum DPI.

Choose the Razer Viper V4 Pro for a premium symmetrical alternative, the ZOWIE EC2-DW for palm or relaxed-claw comfort, the Keychron M3 Mini V2 8K or NZXT Lift Elite Wireless below $100, and the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike when you specifically want HITS-style adjustable clicks at a lower price.

What the X3 Superstrike does well—and where its shape matters

Logitech describes the X3 as enhancing its “Haptic Inductive Trigger System (HITS) with optimized internals and a new flagship chipset.” The system lets you adjust actuation and reset points rather than accepting one fixed click position. The mouse is listed at 59 g, supports polling up to 8 kHz (0.125 ms), and claims 135+ hours of battery life on Logitech G’s 2026 US product page. That battery number is a manufacturer statement; the page does not attach a polling-rate condition to it.

The shell is symmetrical-only. Tom’s Guide’s reviewer found it generally suited to claw and fingertip grips, while palm use produced wrist and pinky stiffness during a week of use. That is a reviewer’s experience, not a guarantee that every palm user will have the same result, but it illustrates why a $199.99 price does not automatically make the X3 the right mouse for every hand.

Alternatives therefore fall into three practical groups: symmetrical shells for claw and fingertip users, right-handed ergonomic shells for palm and relaxed claw, and less expensive wireless models for buyers who value price or weight over HITS clicks.

Best alternatives by grip

Claw or fingertip: Razer Viper V4 Pro

The Viper V4 Pro is the strongest premium substitute when you want a symmetrical shell but do not want to pay the X3’s full price. Tom’s Guide reports that both claw and palm grips can work with it, making it the more flexible recommendation for households or users who change grip during the day.

Its maximum DPI is 50,000 and polling reaches 8,000 Hz. Battery life depends sharply on that setting: the cited rating is 180 hours at 1,000 Hz or 45 hours at 8,000 Hz. Those are different operating conditions, so they should not be compared with the X3’s 135+ hour figure as if all three numbers came from the same test.

Grip tape is included, which can help fingertip users control a light symmetrical shell without adding a third-party accessory. The compromise is audible clicks and a price that remains substantial for players who do not benefit from competitive-level polling. At the cited $159 US price, it is $40 below the X3 while retaining an 8K option.

Palm or relaxed claw: ZOWIE EC2-DW

Choose the EC2-DW when the X3 feels too flat, too narrow under the palm, or uncomfortable around the pinky. It uses an EC-shaped, right-handed ergonomic shell. PC Gamer described that shape as sitting “incredibly snugly” under a regular-sized palm; treat that as the reviewer’s assessment rather than a universal fit measurement.

PC Gamer measured the mouse at 59 g and listed a PixArt PAW3950 sensor, mechanical switches, 2.4 GHz wireless, USB-C, and polling up to 4K. Its stated battery life is 80 hours at 1,000 Hz. It has no RGB and includes two spare skate sets, so its feature set is deliberately focused on tracking, comfort, and maintenance rather than lighting or extensive visual customization.

At the cited $150 US price, the EC2-DW costs less than the X3 but gives up HITS adjustable actuation and the X3’s 8K ceiling. For a palm or relaxed-claw user, the shape change is usually more consequential than that polling difference.

Symmetrical or ambidextrous-style preference: compare the shell, not the label

Both the X3 and Viper V4 Pro use symmetrical shells, which is the relevant geometry for many claw and fingertip users. Symmetrical does not by itself prove that a mouse has side buttons on both sides or supports left-handed controls. If you need true left/right control parity, verify the button layout on the specific retailer listing before buying; the cited material establishes the X3’s symmetrical shell, not a fully ambidextrous control layout.

For users who simply want a centered shape that does not force a pronounced right-hand hump, the Viper is the lower-priced premium choice. The X3 is the choice when adjustable HITS click behavior is more important than saving $40.

Best alternatives by spend

Under $100: Keychron M3 Mini V2 8K

The M3 Mini V2 8K is the budget route to an 8K polling specification. Tom’s Guide cited a $69 price in its Viper comparison, making it less than half the X3’s $199.99 price. The value proposition is straightforward: spend on a high polling-rate headline rather than on the X3’s HITS actuation system.

The cited material does not establish the M3 Mini V2’s shell geometry, weight, battery rating, or click mechanism. Those details should be checked against the current product listing if hand fit, endurance, or switch feel is decisive for you. Treat it as a performance-per-dollar candidate, not an automatic replacement for the X3’s shape.

  • LONG-LASTING BATTERY FOR EXTENDED PLAY — Up to 150 hours at 1000 Hz lets you game longer without interruptions, ideal for long sessions or tournament play

Under $100: NZXT Lift Elite Wireless

The Lift Elite Wireless is the simpler low-cost wireless option. Tom’s Guide cited a $79 price and a 2.01 oz weight (about 57 g). It suits buyers who want a light wireless mouse without paying for HITS clicks or an enthusiast feature set.

The cited comparison does not provide a polling figure, battery rating, shell dimensions, or switch type for the Lift Elite Wireless. If those specifications determine your purchase, confirm them on the current listing rather than assuming that a low weight means the same performance profile as the X3.

About half the X3’s price: Asus ROG Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition

TechRadar calls the Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition a fantastic competitive mouse at about half the X3’s price. The review emphasizes its very light weight and Aim Lab integration, which is useful if you want an intentionally training-oriented setup rather than adjustable HITS clicks.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

No exact current US price is supplied in the cited passage, so “about half” is the responsible comparison. Do not turn it into a precise dollar figure without checking the live retailer price.

Midrange HITS option: Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike

The X2 Superstrike is the logical same-family compromise. TechRadar listed it at $179.99, $20 below the X3 at the time checked, and said it retains nearly all of the same features. It is the option for buyers who specifically want HITS-style adjustable clicks but do not require the newest generation.

The saving is modest relative to the X3, so the X2 makes the most sense when its current discount is larger than the cited snapshot or when you prefer the prior generation for a specific reason. The cited comparison does not establish a different grip geometry; do not buy it expecting an ergonomic palm shell.

$150–$159: premium alternatives without the X3 price

The Viper V4 Pro at $159 and EC2-DW at $150 form the practical middle tier. Pick the Viper for symmetrical claw/fingertip geometry, 8K polling, and the option to trade polling rate for 180-hour battery life at 1,000 Hz. Pick the EC2-DW for a right-handed palm or relaxed-claw fit, 59 g measured weight, 4K polling, and 80 hours at 1,000 Hz.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Neither gives you the X3’s adjustable HITS actuation. The Viper uses a different click implementation with clicks Tom’s Guide describes as loud; the EC2-DW is listed with mechanical switches. These are different priorities, not simply cheaper versions of the same mouse.

Feature trade-offs that decide the purchase

Shape and pressure distribution

Start with the part of your hand that becomes uncomfortable first. A claw or fingertip grip normally benefits from a symmetrical starting point, while a palm or relaxed-claw grip often benefits from a right-handed rear hump that supports the hand. The X3’s symmetrical shell and the EC2-DW’s ergonomic shell therefore target different problems even when their listed weights are similar.

Tom’s Guide’s report of wrist and pinky stiffness with palm use on the X3 is a useful warning sign: if your hand rests heavily on the mouse, prioritize contact support before chasing click latency.

Weight and balance

The X3 is listed at 59 g by Logitech. The EC2-DW is 59 g measured by PC Gamer, which is a review measurement rather than a manufacturer specification. The Lift Elite Wireless is cited at 2.01 oz. Keep those labels attached to the numbers: measured and listed weights are not necessarily obtained with identical cables, receivers, or test methods.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Weight alone also does not tell you balance. TechRadar reports that the X3 improves the X2’s weight distribution, so two mice with similar gram figures can still feel different when you lift, stop, or make fingertip corrections.

Clicks and actuation

HITS is the X3 family’s defining feature. Adjustable actuation and reset points let you tune when a click registers and when it becomes ready to register again. The X2 retains nearly all of that feature set, making it the least disruptive downgrade.

The Viper V4 Pro and EC2-DW are alternatives for users who would rather choose shape, battery, or price than HITS tuning. The Viper’s clicks are reported as loud, while the EC2-DW is listed with mechanical switches. The available data does not establish a click type for the Keychron, NZXT, or Harpe Ace models, so do not infer one from their price or weight.

Polling rate versus battery

Higher polling rates increase update frequency but can reduce runtime. The clearest supplied example is the Viper V4 Pro: 180 hours at 1,000 Hz versus 45 hours at 8,000 Hz. The X3 advertises 135+ hours and up to 8 kHz, but its cited product page does not pair the battery figure with a polling condition. The EC2-DW’s 80-hour figure is specifically at 1,000 Hz.

For ordinary desktop work and most play, selecting a lower polling setting may be the practical way to extend charging intervals. Competitive users who can perceive or measure the benefit can reserve 8K for sessions where it matters, accepting the shorter runtime on products whose ratings specify that trade-off.

Software and included accessories

  • The X3’s differentiator is HITS actuation/reset adjustment and the new flagship chipset described by Logitech G.
  • The Viper V4 Pro includes grip tape, offers a 50,000 DPI maximum, and supports an 8K setting.
  • The EC2-DW includes two spare skate sets, uses USB-C and 2.4 GHz wireless, and omits RGB.
  • The Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition includes Aim Lab integration for users who want built-in training workflows.

A step-by-step buying decision

  1. Identify your dominant grip. If your palm makes broad contact with the shell, begin with the EC2-DW. If only your fingertips or curled fingers contact the mouse, begin with the Viper or X3 geometry.
  2. Set the maximum you will spend. Use $69–$79 for the value tier, about $150–$159 for premium alternatives, $179.99 for the prior-generation HITS option, or $199.99 for the X3 snapshot price.
  3. Decide whether adjustable clicks are essential. If yes, stay with the X3 family and compare the X2’s $179.99 cited price with the X3’s current listing. If no, spend the difference on the shell that fits your hand.
  4. Choose a polling target and charging tolerance. Do not compare an 8K battery figure with a 1K figure without their conditions. The Viper’s 180-hour and 45-hour ratings illustrate how large the difference can be.
  5. Check the current listing for omitted fit details. The cited material does not establish complete dimensions, button layouts, battery ratings, or switch types for every model. Confirm those items, especially if you need left-handed controls, a particular hand size, or a specific click sound.
  6. Use the return window strategically. Logitech’s US page lists free US shipping and 30-day returns for the X3 when checked. Policies for alternatives vary by seller, so verify them before ordering and keep packaging until the shape is proven comfortable.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Buying by DPI alone: iTechGuides’ 2026 buying guidance states that shape, grip, balance, and comfort matter more than maximum DPI or 8,000-Hz polling.
  • Assuming symmetrical means ambidextrous: a centered shell does not guarantee mirrored side buttons or left-handed software support.
  • Mixing battery conditions: always record the polling rate beside a battery claim.
  • Treating review measurements as specifications: PC Gamer’s 59 g EC2-DW figure is measured, while Logitech’s 59 g X3 figure is a listed manufacturer value.
  • Expecting a cheaper mouse to reproduce HITS: the value models target price, weight, or polling; the X2 is the explicitly same-family HITS compromise.
  • Assuming a price is permanent: the cited $69, $79, $150, $159, $179.99, and $199.99 figures are time-sensitive US snapshots.

Which mouse should you buy?

Buy the Razer Viper V4 Pro if you want the best premium all-round alternative in a symmetrical shell and value both claw/fingertip compatibility and configurable battery-versus-polling behavior. Buy the ZOWIE EC2-DW if palm or relaxed-claw comfort is the reason you are leaving the X3. Choose the Keychron M3 Mini V2 8K or NZXT Lift Elite Wireless when staying below $100 matters more than HITS. Choose the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike when adjustable HITS clicks matter most and the $20 saving over the X3 is meaningful.
