Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteIf you need to turn a live website into editable Figma layers, start by matching the tool to how you can access the page. html.to.design documents URL imports for public pages and browser-extension capture for local or private pages. Builder.io’s Visual Copilot article describes URL imports and selecting a page section, but it was published on August 6, 2025, so check the current plugin and workflow before relying on it. These are documented workflows, not guarantees that a complex page will import without cleanup.
How to choose an HTML-to-Figma alternative
First check whether the tool can reach the page, then whether it captures the scope you need and produces editable content. A screenshot can be useful as a visual reference, but it is not the same as a reconstructed, editable design.
- Source access: Is the page public, behind a login, or running locally? Does the tool accept a URL, use a browser extension, or take pasted HTML?
- Capture scope: Can it import a full page, multiple pages, or just a selected section?
- Output: Does the workflow claim to create editable Figma content, or merely place a screenshot? Expect to inspect and potentially clean up an import.
- Responsive coverage: Can you choose desktop, tablet, and mobile viewports, and will you need separate imports for each?
- Current limits: Check import quotas, paid features, plugin availability, and whether the documented workflow still exists.
Before importing an entire site, try one representative screen—ideally one with the layout, imagery, and dynamic elements you expect to encounter elsewhere.

html.to.design: the closest alternative may not be an alternative
If you are comparing other workflows because html.to.design cannot reach your page, its own documentation is worth checking first. It describes a Figma plugin and browser extension: public pages can be imported by URL, while local or private login pages can be captured through the extension. The docs describe selecting a viewport and theme before importing; its features page lists desktop, tablet, and mobile options. See the feature documentation and overview.

The Chrome Web Store listing says captured pages can be sent to the Figma plugin, saved locally as .h2d, downloaded as a .make file, or copied to the clipboard; it notes that some features require the companion plugin. Check the extension listing for current availability and details.
Its homepage currently lists up to 10 imports every 30 days on Free and unlimited imports on Pro, with high-resolution images, bulk imports, and a re-import shortcut among the listed Pro features. The retrieved homepage text does not state prices, and limits can change; verify the live plan details before choosing.

Builder.io Visual Copilot: URL and section import
Builder.io’s article, “Convert a Website to Figma Designs for Free,” published August 6, 2025, describes entering a URL in the Visual Copilot Figma plugin’s Import tab. It also explains a Chrome-extension workflow: use “Copy Layout” to select a webpage element, then paste it into the plugin. The article calls both website and section import free at publication. Since plugin availability, pricing, and behavior may change, confirm the live workflow before committing to it: Builder.io’s walkthrough.
Do not confuse that website-to-Figma workflow with Builder’s older feature for importing existing site content into Builder. Builder’s documentation marks that separate feature deprecated and says, “This feature has been removed from Builder.” The notice concerns importing website content into Builder’s editor; it does not establish that Visual Copilot’s reverse, website-to-Figma flow has been removed. See the deprecation notice.

Other names to investigate, not assume are direct replacements
A vendor-authored html2design alternatives guide, updated August 17, 2026, discusses pasted HTML/CSS, live URL capture, screenshot import, and AI-assisted layout detection. It names html2design, html.to.design, Anima, Locofy.ai, screenshot import, and manual recreation. Because the guide is published by a vendor in this category, treat its rankings, prices, and quality judgments as promotional rather than independent comparisons.
The guide’s claims about html2design’s support for pasted HTML/CSS and public URLs, and its distinction between Pixel and native-layer output, need confirmation in that product’s current documentation. The information available here does not establish that Anima or Locofy.ai currently provide a direct website-to-Figma import workflow. Verify a tool’s input route, editable output, and present availability before treating it as a head-to-head option.

Screenshot an existing page when a visual reference is enough
If you only need a rendered reference—not editable layers—a screenshot can help you recreate a layout manually. ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers; it captures pages as PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF, but a screenshot itself is not a Figma reconstruction. For a screenshot-based workflow, it is the alternative to try first: cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets can be removed before capture, and bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed. Each response reports the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server provides screenshot tools for AI agents, including Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients.
Or skip the browser setup
A single GET request can capture a page. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for options and setup.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchescurl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
Cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets are removed before the shot; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. AI agents can take screenshots through the MCP server. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for free.
Practical checks before importing a whole site
- Test the page you actually need. Use a representative page, including its login state or local environment if relevant. Confirm the tool supports that access route.
- Capture the right scope. Decide whether you need a full URL, several pages, or one selected section, and verify that the current workflow offers it.
- Check the result in Figma. Confirm that the import is editable content rather than a flat image, then inspect the layout and determine how much cleanup it needs.
- Repeat at required breakpoints. If you need mobile and tablet designs as well as desktop, check the available viewport choices and capture each needed view.
- Verify current quotas and plugin status. Free allowances, paid features, and extension or plugin availability can change; use the vendor’s live listing or plan page before planning a large import.
Common snags and what to check
- The URL import cannot reach the page: The page may require authentication or run locally. Check whether the tool supports browser-extension capture for private or local pages; html.to.design documents this route, while the cited Builder article does not specify private/local access.
- You need only one part of a page: Check for an explicit section-selection flow. Builder’s 2025 article describes selecting an element with its Chrome extension’s “Copy Layout”; confirm the current plugin supports it.
- The result is an image rather than editable layers: A screenshot is only a visual reference. Use a workflow that specifically describes editable Figma content, or rebuild the design manually.
- The output needs substantial cleanup: Editable output is a capability claim, not a promise that every dynamic or complex layout will transfer cleanly. Test representative pages and budget time to inspect the result.
- A feature or free allowance no longer matches a guide: Check the vendor’s current documentation, plugin listing, and plan page. In particular, the Builder workflow evidence here dates to August 2025, and the html.to.design homepage limits and features are subject to change.
Which option should you try first?
For a public URL, html.to.design and Builder Visual Copilot are the two directly documented website-to-Figma workflows here; compare their current import steps against your page and test the output. For a local or login-protected page, html.to.design’s documented browser-extension capture is the clearest fit in the available product documentation. For a selected section, Builder’s article describes a “Copy Layout” workflow, but verify it is still available. If you need a visual reference rather than editable Figma layers, use a screenshot and recreate the design; do not mistake that image for a conversion.
