Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFor a free full-page screenshot without installing an extension, use Firefox’s built-in screenshot tool: open the screenshot interface, choose Save full page, then download the image or copy it to the clipboard. If you use Chrome, Edge, or Firefox and want capture plus editing, OpenCapture documents a free extension that processes captures locally. The best choice depends on your browser, whether you need editing or PDF export, and how the tool handles your screenshots.
What a full-page screenshot captures
A normal desktop screenshot records only the part of a webpage visible in the current viewport. A full-page capture includes content farther down the page, producing one image of the whole page. Depending on the tool, you may also be able to capture a selected region or element, annotate the result, or export it as a PDF.
For a quick capture, start with the browser’s built-in feature if available. Choose an extension when you need broader browser support or editing features, and check the current store listing before installing because availability and terms can change.

Use Firefox’s built-in full-page screenshot
Mozilla Support’s desktop Firefox instructions, last updated June 15, 2026, document a built-in route that requires no screenshot extension:
- Open the webpage you want to capture in Firefox.
- Open Firefox’s screenshot interface.
- Select Save full page. Mozilla’s instruction is: “Capture the full page: Select Save full page in the upper right corner.”
- Download the resulting image, or copy it to the clipboard if that is more useful for your next step.
If you do not see the same controls, confirm that you are using desktop Firefox and check Mozilla’s current instructions for your browser version.

Use Firefox DevTools for more control
Firefox Source Docs also describe a DevTools route. Open Developer Tools, enable the toolbox button labeled Take a screenshot of the entire page, then use it to capture the page. Alternatively, run :screenshot --fullpage in the Web Console. The helper supports options including delay, filename, clipboard, device-pixel ratio and an element selector; consult the Firefox Source Docs for its syntax and available options.
DevTools is useful if you need those extra controls, but it adds setup compared with the regular screenshot interface. For an ordinary one-off capture, begin with Save full page.

Choose an extension when Firefox’s built-in tool is not enough
OpenCapture: capture and edit across several browsers
OpenCapture’s product page describes a free extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox. It supports full-page, visible-area and selected-region captures, along with cropping, annotation, blurring and PNG or PDF export. The provider says processing happens locally on the user’s machine and does not require an account. Its project repository identifies the software as AGPL-3.0-or-later. The provider describes tiled logo or text watermarking as a paid feature: $5 for 1,000 credits, paid once, with no subscription. See the project repository for its license information.
Choose it if you need editing or PDF export and its current store listing supports your browser. “Local processing” is the provider’s claim, not an independent privacy finding; review the extension permissions and current listing yourself.

GoFullPage: verify current terms in the store
The Chrome Web Store listing’s changelog includes version 8.9, dated September 24, 2026, with fixes for Chromium 153’s URL requirement and dialogs. Earlier changelog entries also mention scrolling, frames, export and capture fixes. That dated maintenance history does not establish the extension’s current free limits or full feature set. Check the live Chrome Web Store listing before relying on a particular feature or price.
FullPage Capture: check which features require Pro
FullPage Capture’s provider page describes whole-page stitched capture for Chrome and Edge, with PNG, JPEG and PDF output, copying to the clipboard and editing tools. It says free captures are unlimited and have no watermark, but saving an edited capture and other features require Pro. The page lists Pro at $19 per year after a seven-day trial. These are provider-stated terms and may change; verify them on the provider’s site before choosing it.

The same page says captures stay in browser-local storage and that the extension makes no network requests. Treat those as the provider’s statements rather than independently verified privacy guarantees.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to decide
- Want no extension installation? Use Firefox’s built-in Save full page workflow if it is available in your desktop version.
- Need full-page capture and editing across Chrome, Edge or Firefox? OpenCapture documents those browser options, editing tools and PNG/PDF export; verify the current store listing and permissions.
- Considering GoFullPage? Its listing shows a dated, recent changelog entry, but that alone does not settle current free-tier limits or capabilities.
- Considering FullPage Capture? Check whether your workflow needs edited-image saving or another feature the provider places in Pro.
- Want to automate captures from code or an AI agent? A screenshot API or MCP server is a better fit than a manual browser workflow.
Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request can return a screenshot as PNG, JPEG or WebP, or a PDF. Before capture, it accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets; each step can be turned off. Only clean shots are billed: bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing, and the response includes X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers. An MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf tools for AI agents such as Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients.
For example, capture a page to a WebP file with cURL:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
Replace YOUR_API_KEY with your key and change the URL to the page you want. See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for supported parameters and response details.
Quick Recap
ScreenshotNeo includes 1,000 screenshots per month free with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Cookie banners, popups and chat widgets are removed before the shot; bot checks, blank pages and failed loads are never billed; and AI agents can capture through its MCP server. Troubleshooting full-page captures
- The screenshot only includes what is visible. Confirm that you chose a full-page option rather than a visible-area or ordinary desktop screenshot.
- The browser tool or extension is missing. Confirm the browser and version, then check the current official help page or store listing. Browser menus and extension availability can change.
- Some page content is absent. A page may load content as you scroll or after a delay. Firefox DevTools’ documented helper includes a delay option; for an extension, check its current settings and help information for loading behavior.
- You cannot save an edited capture. Check whether the selected extension makes edited-image saving a paid feature. FullPage Capture’s provider page, for example, says that saving an edited capture requires Pro.
- You need an output format or feature not offered in your browser flow. Check whether an extension exports the format you need, or use an API when you need repeatable capture from code.
