If crease visibility is your main concern, put the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 on your in-person shortlist: Samsung says its display design reduces the crease, and a hands-on review found it less noticeable than before. But it is not crease-free, and available information does not establish its screen-repair price or long-term repair record. Before buying any foldable, check local authorized repair options and the warranty terms for both the inner screen and its protector.
Which foldable phones should you compare?
There is no established, independent measurement comparing crease visibility across all current foldables. The observations below are model-specific: manufacturer claims and reviewer impressions can help narrow a shortlist, but they are not controlled comparisons.
| Model | Crease information | Main display | Repair information established here |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 | Samsung says its Flex Titanium display structure reduces crease visibility; Tom’s Guide reports the crease is much less noticeable than before. These are relative claims, not evidence of a crease-free screen. Samsung, 2026; Tom’s Guide, 2026 | 7.6 inches. Samsung Mobile Press, 2026 | Regional inner-screen repair prices, turnaround, and long-term repair data are not stated. Samsung’s US support guidance on the preinstalled protector is described below. | Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra | Samsung says the Flex Titanium display structure reduces crease visibility; no independent comparative visibility measurement is established here. Samsung, 2026 | 8 inches. Samsung Mobile Press, 2026 | Regional inner-screen repair prices, turnaround, and long-term repair data are not stated. Samsung US support |
| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 | A Digital Camera World buying guide describes its crease as noticeable; that editorial observation is not a standardized measurement. Digital Camera World, 2026 | Not stated in the cited comparison source. | Not stated in the cited comparison source. |
| Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 | TechRadar says its crease is invisible in typical use. This describes that model and typical use, not an objective visibility test. TechRadar | Not stated in the cited comparison source. | Not stated in the cited comparison source. |
What Samsung’s Fold8 design claim means
Samsung describes Flex Titanium as a structure combining a titanium-alloy film with a titanium plate, intended to absorb pressure and impact while reducing crease visibility. Samsung Mobile Press quoted Kyung-Jin Yoo, its EVP and Head of Mobile Display Product Development Team, describing micro-patterned holes in the folding section of the plate as a way to retain flexibility with durability. That is Samsung’s account of its engineering, not independent proof of long-term durability or repair rates. Samsung Mobile Press, July 15, 2026
Choose by shape as well as crease
A book-style phone such as the Z Fold8 opens to a 7.6-inch main screen, while the Z Fold8 Ultra’s main screen is 8 inches; a flip-style phone such as the Z Flip7 folds into a more compact shape. Think about which screen you will use day to day, then view the open display under ordinary room lighting and scroll or read on it. A reviewer saying a crease is less noticeable or invisible in typical use does not guarantee the same impression for every person or lighting condition.

What should you verify before buying?
Crease visibility is only one part of the decision. For a phone you may need to service, the availability and terms of repair in your own location matter just as much.
- Inspect the crease in use: Look at the unfolded screen while reading, scrolling, and viewing it at angles where room lights reflect. Notice whether the crease catches your eye or affects finger movement.
- Confirm local repair access: Ask whether an authorized service center near you accepts the exact model, and whether it handles inner-screen and protector replacement.
- Ask for written repair details: Check current local prices, likely turnaround, warranty exclusions, and any insurance terms. The cited sources do not establish comparable repair costs for these models.
- Check regional coverage for imports: Digital Camera World warns that importing an Oppo Find N6 into the US, UK, or Europe may mean forfeiting warranty support. Treat that as a prompt to verify current terms with the seller and manufacturer, not as a universal rule for every import. Digital Camera World, 2026
How does the inner-screen protector affect repairs?
Samsung’s US support page says its foldables come with a specially designed protector preinstalled on the main screen. It is intended to withstand folding and unfolding while protecting against scratches and debris. Samsung advises against removing it yourself and recommends an authorized Samsung service center for replacement; the service may cost money. Samsung also says its US Standard Limited Warranty does not cover damage caused by removal by the user or a non-authorized provider. These are US-specific terms, so check the applicable warranty and service policy in your country. Samsung US support

Do not assume a protector replacement and a damaged inner-screen repair are the same job or carry the same price. Ask the service center to distinguish the two and confirm what is covered before you rely on a warranty or insurance policy.

A visible fold line is not automatically a defect. Samsung’s Gulf support article says the crease on the Galaxy Z Fold5 is a normal feature of that model’s flexible UTG display and says it does not affect display quality, lifespan, or performance. This guidance is specific to the Z Fold5; it is not a diagnosis of a crack, line, damage, or fault on another phone. Samsung Gulf support

- Unfold extraordinary with Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold; with Pixel’s largest screen and Gemini, Google’s most advanced AI, it’s made for multitasking and entertainment[1]
- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan[2]; it works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers
- Get a head start on syncing your data before it even arrives: After you purchase your new Pixel, look for an email that explains how to transfer your photos, videos, passwords, and more in just a few quick steps[14]
- The gearless, high-strength hinge makes it durable enough to handle about 10 years of folding[3]; plus, Pixel 10 Pro Fold is built with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance[4]
- The brighter-than-ever 8-inch Super Actua Flex display is Pixel’s largest screen yet[12]; and you can use Split Screen to plan a trip, drag and drop images, and open multiple apps at once[5]
Claims about a design that improves durability should not be read as a guarantee against damage. TechRadar notes that foldable inner-screen protectors can be soft and vulnerable to scratches or dents. Its observation is a useful care consideration, not a failure-rate statistic for every model. TechRadar
No cited source establishes a comparable failure rate or repair-cost ranking across current foldables. For buyers who are crease-sensitive and repair-conscious, the practical choice is the model that looks acceptable in person and has a verified local repair route with terms they are willing to accept.
