The exact settings available depend on your Galaxy Ultra model, software, carrier, and region.
Where to find Galaxy Ultra display settings
On Samsung’s US Galaxy S26 support example, the main controls are under Settings > Display. Resolution and screen mode are listed there; refresh behavior is under Settings > Display > Motion smoothness. Samsung’s menu names and available options can vary by device and software, so use these paths as a guide and check the options shown on your phone. Choose motion smoothness for your priority
Open Settings > Display > Motion smoothness and select the option that fits how you use the phone. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 example describes Adaptive as smoother and allowing up to 120 Hz; Standard is presented as the battery-efficiency choice. That figure is specific to Samsung’s 2026 S26 example, not a guarantee for every Galaxy Ultra.
- Adaptive: a sensible starting point if you value fluid scrolling and motion.
- Standard: choose it when battery efficiency matters more than smoother motion.
Samsung’s current US instructions are in its Galaxy S26 display guide. Your model may offer different labels or behavior.

Pick a screen resolution based on detail and battery
Check Settings > Display > Screen resolution if that control is available. Higher resolution can make fine details look sharper, while a lower available setting may be preferable if reducing display demands is a priority. Samsung says changing resolution can affect sharpness and battery, but does not establish a universal battery-life gain.
Samsung’s troubleshooting examples include HD+, FHD+, and QHD+ options, but supported resolutions vary by model. Choose from the choices actually displayed on your phone; do not assume every Galaxy Ultra offers QHD+ or the same resolution menu. See Samsung’s display troubleshooting guide.

Compare Vivid and Natural screen modes
Go to Settings > Display > Screen mode and compare Vivid with Natural using familiar photos, video, or other content. These modes present color differently, and there is no universally best choice established by Samsung’s guidance. Vivid also offers color-temperature adjustment and, on some devices, advanced manual controls. Use the mode that looks right to you rather than assuming one is more accurate.
If a mode or adjustment is unavailable, check whether Eye comfort or another blue-light filter, an accessibility color filter, or Adaptive color tone is enabled. Samsung notes these can limit some screen adjustments. Its screen color instructions also caution that options vary by model, software, and carrier.

Set brightness to automatic or manual
Adjust brightness with the on-screen control in Display settings or from the quick panel. Adaptive brightness changes the screen brightness in response to surrounding light. Samsung Canada says the feature also learns from a user’s adjustments over time; that description is specific to Samsung’s Canadian guidance. Leave it on if you want automatic adaptation, or use manual brightness if you prefer direct control. No single brightness percentage suits every room or person. Eye comfort shield can make screen colors look warmer, and Samsung says it can be scheduled on supported devices. It is an appearance setting, not a proven medical or sleep treatment. Turn it off when comparing colors or investigating an unexpected yellow cast. Dark mode changes the interface’s appearance and may be preferable in dim surroundings, but whether to use it is a matter of preference. Samsung lists both among display options in its display troubleshooting guidance.
