If you want a true YouTube Premiere, schedule it in YouTube Studio and select Set as Premiere. Restream and StreamYard can schedule prerecorded videos to play as YouTube livestreams, but their documented workflows are not native YouTube Premieres. Choose based on whether you want a shared premiere page with a countdown and chat, or automated livestream playback.

Premiere or prerecorded livestream: which do you mean?

YouTube uses “Premiere” for a specific feature: a scheduled video gets a public watch page in advance, where viewers can set reminders, comment, and chat. YouTube describes Premieres as a way for creators and viewers to “watch and experience a new video together in real time.” A prerecorded livestream is different: a service broadcasts a recording as a live event. It may be scheduled in advance, but that does not make it a native Premiere or establish that it has the same page and features.

For the native feature, use YouTube Studio. For cloud services that schedule recordings as livestreams, the documented options here are Restream and StreamYard.

How to schedule a native YouTube Premiere

  1. Upload the finished video: In YouTube Studio, start the video upload and enter its details.
  2. Set the schedule: Choose Schedule, then select the future date and time.
  3. Enable the Premiere: Select Set as Premiere. You can choose a countdown theme and length if desired.
  4. Schedule it: Confirm the schedule. YouTube creates a public watch page in advance; share that page so viewers can set reminders and join the event.

YouTube’s Premiere guidance excludes Shorts, 360/VR180 videos, and output above 1080p. It also says a Premiere associated with an account that has a Community Guidelines strike may be kept private during the penalty period; after the freeze, it must be rescheduled. Check YouTube’s Premiere instructions for the current eligibility details.

Cloud services for scheduling a recording as a YouTube livestream

These services are relevant if you want a recording to air automatically as a livestream. Neither service’s cited instructions establish that it creates YouTube’s native Premiere page.

1. StreamNeo — for always-on prerecorded YouTube streams

StreamNeo is a cloud service for looping uploaded videos on a YouTube channel 24/7. It is not a Premiere scheduler, but it may suit a different goal: keeping prerecorded content live as an ongoing stream. It runs from the cloud, supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.

To start, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops the content from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not need to stay on. It supports YouTube only and plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed. Each slot includes 10 GB of storage, pooled across active slots, along with looping, playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support. Plans differ by duration, not features. UPI and cards are accepted in India; card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support.

Choose this for continuous playback, not for a one-time native Premiere with a countdown and shared watch page. Details are at StreamNeo.

2. Restream — schedule prerecorded events and playlists

Restream’s documented workflow is to select or upload a video, enter event details including the date and time, choose destinations, and create the event. Its instructions say the video event airs automatically at the scheduled time. Restream also documents uploaded or imported video storage, prerecorded events, playlists, and looping. Supported import routes listed in its overview include desktop or mobile, Descript, Google Drive, and Dropbox.

For a YouTube event, Restream’s instructions also describe video files and playlists as source options. These are livestream playback workflows, not evidence of native Premiere creation. Restream’s prerecorded-event instructions, Upload & Stream overview, and YouTube Live event guide describe the setup. Storage and plan limits can vary; check Restream’s current plan information before choosing a service.

3. StreamYard — schedule a prerecorded stream to YouTube

StreamYard documents scheduling a stream to YouTube and selecting a prerecorded video as its source. Its setup guide describes choosing the recording, destinations, and date and time. You can also schedule an announcement post to provide an advance destination link. Without an announcement post, the watch-page link may not be available until the prerecorded stream starts.

This is also a scheduled livestream workflow, not a documented way to create a native Premiere. See StreamYard’s scheduling guide and prerecorded streaming guide for its current steps and destination details.

Compare the options by the event you want

Option What it schedules Advance page or link Best fit
YouTube Studio Premiere A native YouTube Premiere YouTube creates a public watch page in advance; viewers can share it, set reminders, comment, and chat. A one-time video event with the Premiere experience.
Restream A prerecorded video event that airs as a livestream Its cited instructions do not establish a native Premiere page. Automated scheduled playback, including video or playlist sources; verify current storage and plan limits.
StreamYard A scheduled prerecorded livestream An announcement post can provide an advance destination link; without one, the watch-page link may not be available until the stream starts. Scheduled recorded streaming to supported destinations such as YouTube.

If the countdown, reminders, chat, and public event page matter, schedule the Premiere in YouTube Studio. If you want a recording to broadcast as a livestream, compare Restream and StreamYard on destination support, link availability, announcement options, and current plan constraints. For continuous 24/7 playback rather than a scheduled one-off, StreamNeo is the cloud option described above.

Or let it run in the cloud

For a 24/7 prerecorded YouTube stream, upload a video or playlist to StreamNeo, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploaded video streams at its original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot; and automatic recovery can resume the stream if YouTube drops it. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month.

Start your free StreamNeo day.

Check the event link before promoting it

  • For a native Premiere, use the public watch page YouTube creates after you schedule it.
  • For StreamYard, schedule an announcement post if you need an advance destination link; its guide says the watch-page link may otherwise arrive only when the stream starts.
  • For Restream, confirm the event and destination setup in its current interface before sharing the event link; the cited instructions describe automatic airing but do not establish native Premiere page behavior.

Copyright and channel-policy checks

A cloud scheduler does not grant rights to the video or guarantee that YouTube will allow it to remain available. Before scheduling, confirm that you have permission for the recording and any music or other material it contains, and review YouTube’s applicable copyright and channel rules. StreamNeo provides a copyright safety checklist as a preparation aid; it does not replace YouTube’s rules or a rights-holder’s permission.
