For a simple managed way to keep a pre-recorded lofi stream running without a computer at home, StreamNeo is the first service to consider: upload your video or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live from the cloud. It streams uploaded media to YouTube at the quality you made it, up to 4K 60fps, for one flat price per slot; the first day is free with no card. See StreamNeo. Among the other services compared here, Upstream is a strong fit for a single continuous channel, while Gyre is the most explicitly lofi-focused. AWS suits creators who want to build and operate their own cloud media workflow rather than use a turnkey service.

Best cloud services at a glance

Service Best fit Published details Trade-off
StreamNeo Creators who want an always-on YouTube stream from uploaded video without keeping a computer running One always-on stream per slot; uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps; 10 GB storage per slot, pooled across active slots; looping and playlists; automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. One free day per account, no card required. YouTube only; it plays uploaded videos rather than going live from a camera.
Upstream A single pre-recorded channel streamed continuously from the cloud Its product page describes 24/7 cloud streaming from uploaded media. Its pricing page lists a free allowance of 24 streaming hours per month and a paid one-stream plan. Check current pricing, stream limits and resolution terms against your needs; the published paid plan described in this comparison is 1080p at 30 fps.
Gyre Creators seeking a service that specifically describes lofi, ambient and chill streams Upload videos, arrange a playlist and loop continuously. Its pricing page lists a Start tier and a Start+ tier with differing stream, storage and resolution limits. Published plan pricing is higher than the single-stream Upstream figure below; compare the included capacity you will actually use.
AWS Creators who need infrastructure control and can build and maintain a media workflow AWS documents a multi-component 24×7 architecture involving an encoder such as MediaLive and media storage/packaging components with CloudFront delivery. It is not a turnkey lofi-channel service; you are responsible for configuration and operations.

These are feature-and-price comparisons based on vendor and platform documentation, not hands-on tests. No independent uptime comparison or audited reliability figure was established for these providers, so cloud hosting should not be read as a guarantee that a broadcast will never stop. Prices and plan limits can change; verify the linked pricing pages before subscribing.

Why StreamNeo is the first option to consider

StreamNeo is designed for a YouTube channel that plays uploaded recordings continuously. Once you upload a recording or build a playlist and add your YouTube stream key, StreamNeo runs playback in the cloud. Your computer and home internet connection do not have to remain on. Uploaded media streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode and no quality tiers; there is automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.

Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, and support from the StreamNeo team. Every plan includes the same product; only the billing period changes. The first day is free with no card, once per account. UPI and cards are supported in India; card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support.

  • Daily: $0.99 per day
  • Weekly: $2.99 per week
  • Monthly: $9.99 per month
  • 6 months: $49.99 for 6 months
  • Yearly: $89.99 a year

For a lofi channel built from pre-recorded music and visuals, this is the simplest fit when your priority is leaving the stream on without maintaining a local encoder. It does not remove your responsibility to have permission to use the music and visuals on YouTube.

How Upstream and Gyre compare

Upstream: a straightforward option for one continuous stream

Upstream describes continuous streaming of uploaded media from the cloud, including operation with the creator’s computer off. Its pricing page lists one concurrent stream and 24 streaming hours per month on the free plan; paid plans remove that monthly streaming-hour limit. The listed one-stream paid price is $30 per month on monthly billing for 1080p at 30 fps, or a $24-per-month equivalent when billed annually. The annual equivalent reflects the vendor’s listed annual billing, and taxes may be added based on billing location. Confirm the current offer and the resolution/frame-rate terms on Upstream’s pricing page.

The free allowance is a monthly number of streaming hours, not an unlimited 24/7 service. It will not cover a channel that is intended to run all month. Upstream is a reasonable shortlist choice if one 1080p30 stream meets your needs and its published plan terms fit your budget.

Gyre: the clearest lofi-specific positioning

Gyre explicitly names lofi, ambient and chill streams. Its described workflow is to upload videos, assemble a playlist, go live and let it loop continuously. The pricing page lists a seven-day trial, a Start tier at $49 per month with one HD stream and 35 GB storage, and Start+ at $99 per month with up to four HD streams or one 4K stream and 75 GB storage. These are the page’s listed 2026 terms; verify price, trial conditions and plan limits before purchasing at Gyre pricing.

Gyre may make sense if its stated lofi focus or the higher stream/storage configurations match your operation. For a single channel, compare the included capacity and resolution against what you will actually upload rather than choosing by the plan name alone.

AWS: flexibility at the cost of assembly

AWS documents 24×7 live streaming as a media architecture using components such as MediaLive, storage and packaging, and CloudFront delivery. That flexibility can be useful when you need to design your own workflow or integrate it with other systems. For a creator who wants to upload a playlist and keep one YouTube channel live, it entails more setup and ongoing operational responsibility than a managed playback service.

Choose based on your channel’s actual needs

  • One always-on channel, minimal maintenance: Start with StreamNeo, then compare the other managed services if their particular limits or workflow suit you better.
  • One 1080p30 channel and a documented monthly option: Upstream lists a paid single-stream plan and a limited free monthly allowance; check the live terms before subscribing.
  • Lofi-specific workflow or multiple streams: Gyre explicitly targets lofi and lists plans with different stream counts, storage and resolution limits.
  • Custom infrastructure: Choose AWS only if the control is worth designing, configuring and maintaining a multi-component media workflow.
  • Higher resolution or multiple channels: Compare the exact resolution, number of concurrent streams, media storage and billing period on each current plan. A service’s general claim of continuous streaming does not mean every plan supports every output configuration.

Prepare YouTube and your media before going live

Confirm the channel can livestream

YouTube says first-time live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours. Enable it in advance rather than planning a launch at the last minute. Create the broadcast in YouTube Studio and use the stream URL and stream key for the service or encoder you choose. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance explains the connection process.

Use media you have the rights to broadcast

Having a music file or artwork does not by itself establish permission to stream it. Check the license terms for every track, sample, loop, visual and animation, including whether the license covers continuous public livestreaming and YouTube monetization if you intend to monetize. None of the hosting services can establish rights for your specific material; the relevant evidence is your license or permission from the rights holder.

Copyright claims, blocked content or other rights restrictions can interrupt a broadcast or affect the channel. YouTube eligibility and monetization decisions are separate from a streaming host: repetitive or reused material may raise platform-policy issues even when a stream technically runs. Review the rules that apply to your channel and content before committing to a 24/7 format.

Plan the stream lifecycle and archive

YouTube automatically archives streams that are under 12 hours. Do not assume a single broadcast beyond that duration will remain available as one complete archived video. Plan how you will monitor the live session, handle restarts and preserve any recordings you need.

Encoder settings if you manage the stream yourself

For a custom encoder workflow, YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension to RTMP. Its H.264 ingest recommendations include 10 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps and 12 Mbps for 1080p at 60 fps, with a recommended keyframe interval of two seconds. These figures are specific to the stated codec and format, not universal settings for every resolution, frame rate or codec. See YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance for the current table and other formats.

Test with representative audio and motion before relying on the stream. Monitor YouTube’s stream health and adjust for the codec, resolution, frame rate and connection or service configuration in use. If you use a managed cloud service, check which encoding details it handles and what settings, if any, it exposes.

Cost and operational trade-offs

Compare the recurring cost with the actual capacity you need: number of simultaneous streams, source-media storage, target resolution and how long you need the service. Upstream’s cited annual-billing equivalent is not the same billing commitment as monthly billing, and Gyre’s tiers include different capacity. StreamNeo keeps its product consistent across billing periods, with a free first day and no card. Service prices and terms can change, so use each provider’s linked pricing page as the final check.

A managed service shifts playback and stream sending off your home computer, but it does not eliminate decisions about YouTube setup, rights, monitoring, archives or account policy. A custom AWS system adds infrastructure choices and maintenance work in exchange for control. There is no independent uptime figure here that would justify treating any option as interruption-proof.

Or let it run in the cloud

With StreamNeo, upload your recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams your upload at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month.
