Motorola Edge 70 is the best balanced camera phone under ₹35,000 in India, based on 91mobiles’ 8.6/10 expert camera rating and its combination of 50MP rear cameras, a 50MP selfie camera and 4K recording. Choose the Nothing Phone 3a Pro if portraits and distant subjects matter most: its 50MP Sony periscope camera offers 3x optical zoom and 6x in-sensor zoom. For selfie-led content and high-frame-rate video, the OnePlus Nord 5 has documented 50MP front and rear cameras plus 4K at 60 frames per second.
Prices and stock below reflect India listings checked on 20 October 2026; sale pricing, storage variants and availability can change.
Best camera phones under ₹35,000: the short list
| Phone | Best for | Camera evidence | Video evidence | India price reference |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Motorola Edge 70 | Balanced photography and everyday shooting | 91mobiles expert camera rating: 8.6/10; 50MP + 50MP rear cameras; 50MP front camera; review summary praises comfort, camera capability and low-light performance | 4K recording; 91mobiles notes that video can sometimes look choppy | ₹34,999 on Amazon, as listed by 91mobiles in 2026 |
| Nothing Phone 3a Pro | Portraits and distant subjects | 50MP Sony periscope telephoto; 3x optical zoom and 6x in-sensor zoom | The cited NDTV Profit report does not establish a comparable resolution/frame-rate package | ₹29,999 India starting price, reported by NDTV Profit in 2026 |
| OnePlus Nord 5 | Selfies, talking-head clips and high-frame-rate video | 50MP front and rear cameras; OnePlus positions them for low-light shooting | 4K 60 FPS recording | ₹33,999 starting price on the current OnePlus India page |
These are not interchangeable recommendations. The Edge 70 is the safest all-round choice when you still need a capable front camera and 4K capture. The Phone 3a Pro is the specialist pick when framing a face at portrait distance or a subject across a street is more important than a documented 4K60 mode. The Nord 5 is the clearest fit for creators who record themselves and want 60-fps 4K footage.
What ₹35,000 buys you in a camera phone
At this price, phones increasingly combine high-resolution sensors with computational processing rather than relying on megapixels alone. 91mobiles describes the ₹35,000 class as offering features such as advanced periscope telephoto zoom, larger image sensors and computational photography that can approach the usefulness of a compact camera. That does not mean every phone has every feature: the three recommendations above divide the strengths differently.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
A 50MP label tells you the sensor’s nominal resolution, not the final quality of a photograph. Exposure, dynamic range, autofocus behaviour, lens quality, image processing and the amount of light available all affect the saved image. The evidence available for this list supports specific hardware and published ratings, but it does not provide one controlled test covering every phone’s microphone, stabilisation, battery endurance or skin-tone rendering. Those dimensions should therefore be checked in person or through independent testing before purchase.
Motorola Edge 70: best balanced camera phone
Why it leads the list
Motorola’s Edge 70 is the most complete documented package in this group for a buyer who takes a mixture of stills, casual video, low-light scenes and selfies. 91mobiles gives it an 8.6/10 expert camera rating in its 2026 list. The same summary highlights comfortable handling, capable cameras and low-light performance, while warning that video can sometimes become choppy.
The listed hardware is a pair of 50MP rear cameras and a 50MP front camera. The phone also records in 4K. That combination covers the common pattern of using the rear cameras for travel, food, family and night scenes, then switching to the front camera for calls or social clips.

Where it makes sense
- Mixed stills: You do not want to choose a phone solely for zoom or solely for front-camera video.
- Low-light photography: The cited review summary specifically praises its low-light results, making it the strongest documented general-purpose night option here.
- One-phone convenience: A 50MP selfie camera and 4K rear-camera recording reduce the need for a separate camera for occasional content.
Important limitation
Do not buy the Edge 70 expecting perfectly smooth video in every situation. 91mobiles’ warning that footage can sometimes look choppy is a practical reason to record a short walking clip, pan and indoor sequence before keeping the phone. The published material does not quantify when the problem appears or provide a controlled stabilisation comparison with the other two phones.

Nothing Phone 3a Pro: best for portraits and optical zoom
The zoom advantage
The Nothing Phone 3a Pro is the specialist choice for portraits, stage events, travel details and subjects that are too far away for a comfortable main-camera composition. NDTV Profit reports a 50MP Sony periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom and 6x in-sensor zoom.
Optical zoom changes the lens’s magnification before the image is captured. That generally preserves more subject detail than enlarging a main-camera image after capture. In-sensor zoom uses the sensor’s resolution and cropping to extend the framing beyond the optical range; it can be useful, but it is not the same as adding another true optical step.
Portrait and distance use cases
- Portraits: A 3x perspective can place the camera farther from the subject than a wide main camera, helping you fill the frame without standing uncomfortably close.
- Outdoor details: Signs, architecture and details across a plaza are easier to frame than with a digital crop alone.
- Events: The periscope camera gives you a better starting point when you cannot move closer.
The India starting price reported by NDTV Profit is ₹29,999, leaving more room in a ₹35,000 budget than the other two reference prices. Confirm the exact storage variant, seller, warranty and current price at checkout because the cited figure is a starting price rather than a guarantee for every configuration.
What the evidence does not establish
The cited report also mentions a 6.77-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, which can make framing and reviewing images comfortable. It does not provide a directly comparable 4K60 video specification, microphone assessment or stabilisation test for this article. If moving video is your priority, compare a real sample rather than assuming the zoom hardware makes it the best video phone.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
OnePlus Nord 5: best documented selfie and 4K60 package
Why creators should consider it
The current OnePlus India page lists a ₹33,999 starting price, a 50MP front camera, a 50MP rear camera and 4K 60 FPS video recording. OnePlus positions both 50MP cameras for low-light use. This is the clearest published match in the shortlist for people who record themselves, edit motion-heavy clips or want the flexibility of choosing 60 frames per second at 4K.
Recording at 60 frames per second gives moving footage more temporal detail than 30-fps capture and provides more latitude for slowing clips in an editor. It also creates larger files and can increase processing or storage demands, so use it when the scene benefits from smoother motion rather than selecting it automatically for every clip.
Best-fit scenarios
- Talking-head videos: The 50MP front camera is a clearly documented strength for self-recorded content.
- Vlogging: 4K60 is useful when you pan, walk or capture action that will be edited later.
- Night social clips: OnePlus explicitly markets the front and rear cameras for low-light shooting, although the cited page does not provide a controlled comparison of noise or skin-tone accuracy.
The available evidence does not establish the Nord 5’s optical-zoom capability, microphone quality or stabilisation performance. If those determine your purchase, test them with your own accessories and recording style before committing.
How to choose between the three
Choose by subject distance
Pick the Nothing Phone 3a Pro when you regularly photograph people on the other side of a room, performers, wildlife at a safe distance or portrait subjects where a 3x viewpoint is useful. Pick the Edge 70 or Nord 5 when most of your images are captured nearby and you prefer a broader everyday balance.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Choose by front-camera use
The Edge 70 and Nord 5 both list 50MP front cameras. The Nord 5 has the stronger documented video specification because its official page explicitly lists 4K60 recording. If you mostly take still selfies, both remain plausible; if you publish frequent video, start with the Nord 5 and verify audio and stabilisation in a test recording.
Choose by low-light priority
The Edge 70 has a 91mobiles review summary that praises low-light performance. OnePlus markets the Nord 5’s two 50MP cameras for low-light shooting. Those statements come from different sources and are not controlled head-to-head measurements, so treat them as directional evidence rather than a ranking. The Phone 3a Pro’s cited evidence here is strongest for zoom, not night performance.
Choose by video frame rate
If 4K at 60 frames per second is a requirement, the OnePlus Nord 5 is the only phone in this shortlist with that mode explicitly documented by the manufacturer. The Edge 70 is documented as recording 4K, but the available information does not specify its maximum frame rate. The cited Phone 3a Pro report does not establish a comparable 4K specification.

Camera features that matter more than megapixels
Main-camera detail and dynamic range
High resolution can retain fine texture in good light, but dynamic range determines how well a phone holds detail in bright skies and dark shadows at the same time. When comparing phones in a shop, photograph a backlit window, a person in shade and a scene containing both sunlight and dark surfaces. Inspect the preview and the saved file for clipped highlights, crushed shadows and unnatural sharpening.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Optical zoom versus digital crop
A dedicated telephoto camera, such as the Phone 3a Pro’s 3x periscope, gives you a separate optical viewpoint. A digital crop starts with pixels captured by another lens and enlarges them. Use optical zoom first for portraits and distant subjects; reserve longer in-sensor or digital settings for situations where the framing is more important than maximum fine detail.
Ultra-wide framing
Ultra-wide cameras are useful for groups, interiors and landscapes, but the supplied specifications do not identify the ultra-wide field of view or performance of these three phones. Do not infer equivalent results from the number of rear cameras. Check edge sharpness, distortion and low-light noise in the exact scenes you shoot.
Autofocus and moving subjects
For children, pets and street scenes, focus acquisition and tracking can matter more than a static megapixel count. Test a subject walking toward the camera, a quick change from near to far and a sequence of stills. The cited pages do not publish a uniform autofocus score, so a hands-on check is the honest way to decide.

Smooth footage depends on optical or electronic stabilisation, shutter behaviour, walking technique and audio capture. The available sources do not provide a controlled comparison of stabilisation, microphones or battery endurance. Record a 30-second walking clip with speech, wind and a stationary pan; listen with headphones and inspect for judder before purchase.
Buying checklist for an India ₹35,000 budget
- Set the use case first. Select Edge 70 for balance, Phone 3a Pro for 3x portraits and distance, or Nord 5 for documented selfie and 4K60 video capability.
- Confirm the exact price and variant. The Edge 70 figure is a ₹34,999 Amazon reference price, the Phone 3a Pro figure is a ₹29,999 starting price, and the Nord 5 figure is a ₹33,999 starting price. Storage capacity and seller can change the amount.
- Check warranty and return terms. Verify that the invoice, regional warranty and return window apply to the seller and India variant you are buying.
- Test the front camera. Record yourself indoors and outdoors, then inspect facial detail, exposure changes and voice clarity.
- Test the rear cameras at the distances you use. Try a close subject, a portrait at roughly 3x on the Phone 3a Pro, a distant detail and a night scene.
- Check video modes in the camera app. Confirm that the advertised resolution and frame rate are available with the camera and accessories you plan to use.
- Leave budget for practical support. A stable grip or tripod can improve framing and walking technique, but choose one only after confirming the phone’s size, case and mounting needs.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Buying on megapixels alone: A 50MP label does not prove better dynamic range, colour or video.
- Confusing 6x in-sensor zoom with 6x optical zoom: On the Phone 3a Pro, the cited figures are 3x optical and 6x in-sensor; they describe different capture methods.
- Assuming 4K means 4K60: The Edge 70 is documented for 4K recording, while 4K60 is explicitly listed for the Nord 5.
- Ignoring motion tests: The Edge 70’s review summary specifically warns that video can sometimes be choppy.
- Treating marketing language as a lab result: Low-light positioning is documented for the Nord 5, while low-light performance praise is documented for the Edge 70; neither statement replaces a controlled comparison.
- Overlooking price volatility: Online prices, discounts, stock and variants can change after the 20 October 2026 check.
Which phone should you buy?
Buy the Motorola Edge 70 if you want the strongest documented all-round camera package and are comfortable checking video smoothness yourself. Buy the Nothing Phone 3a Pro if a real 3x optical telephoto is the feature you will use most for portraits or distant subjects. Buy the OnePlus Nord 5 if front-camera shooting and explicitly documented 4K60 recording define your workflow.
Before ordering, repeat the decision against your actual subjects, verify the current India listing and test any dimension—especially microphone quality, stabilisation, battery life and skin-tone rendering—that the published evidence here does not measure uniformly.
