Soundtrack by Twitch has been discontinued. Twitch’s official music-options page names six services as alternatives: Chillhop Music, NCS, Outertone by RouteNote, Pretzel by Songtradr, StreamBeats, and Monstercat Gold. Treat that list as a shortlist, not a guarantee that any service covers your live streams, VODs, clips, and other platforms. Check the current license for each use before you play or publish music.
What happened to Soundtrack by Twitch?
Twitch announced in June 2023 that Soundtrack would shut down. In a July 17, 2023 update, it said the Soundtrack API endpoints had been removed from its documentation and returned HTTP 410, and directed developers to its Music Options for Streamers page.
Soundtrack’s appeal was its curated rights-cleared collection, software integration, and ability to route music to a separate audio channel. Those are historical features, not assurances about any replacement. Twitch’s September 2020 launch post specified OBS Studio v26.0 or later on PC for the beta and said Twitch Studio and Streamlabs OBS compatibility would follow; this does not establish present-day compatibility for other services.
Twitch’s six named alternatives
Twitch’s official shortlist names the following services. Its page’s catalog counts are explicitly qualified as applying “at time of posting,” and its broad price labels should not be treated as current quotes. Confirm each provider’s terms, catalog, price, and software support directly before choosing.

How to choose a Soundtrack replacement
Match the license to every place you use the music
Read the current terms for Twitch live broadcasts, VODs, clips, and each other platform where you stream or republish. Permission for one use should not be assumed to cover another. Check whether monetized or sponsored broadcasts are permitted, and whether a channel or account must be registered.
Check the audio workflow
Find out whether the service supports your streaming software and whether you can isolate music from game, microphone, and other audio. Soundtrack historically used a separate audio channel, but the available information does not establish that any particular alternative reproduces that feature. If you rely on separate routing to manage VOD audio, verify how the replacement behaves before using it on a live broadcast.

Choose for your format, not a headline catalog count
Compare genre and mood, search and playlist tools, and whether the music suits gaming, chatting, DJ content, or another broadcast style. A catalog count alone does not show whether the tracks fit your stream or whether you can use them in the way you need.

Before subscribing, verify the current plan price, trial or free-tier limits, geographic availability, and whether the plan covers your intended channel and monetization. Twitch’s price labels and catalog counts are not a substitute for current provider terms.
Copyright, VODs, and clips: what to check
Twitch’s official guidance published November 11, 2020 states: “Most importantly, don’t play recorded music in your stream unless you own all rights in the music, or you have the permission of the necessary rights holder(s).” That guidance also says to review a game’s EULA when recorded music is built into the game, and to consider disabling VODs and Clips if rights are unclear. Because this is older guidance, check Twitch’s current policies and the relevant music license before relying on it.
