Best overall alternative: choose the Anker MagGo Wireless Charger Stand (A25X1) for a compact, phone-only Qi2 setup. Choose the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Dock (WIZ020) if your iPhone and Apple Watch should charge together, the Twelve South ButterFly 2-in-1 for foldable travel charging, or Spigen Mag Fit if you already own an Apple MagSafe puck and only need a holder.
Qi2 and MagSafe use related magnetic alignment, but they are not the same certification. Your iPhone model, the charger’s actual certification, case alignment and whether you need Apple Watch charging matter more than the word “magnetic” on the box.

Apple’s current accessory catalog also lists magnetic charging products from Anker, Belkin, mophie and Zens. Those products can differ in certification, output and included power supplies, so compare the model number rather than relying on a brand or a generic “MagSafe-compatible” label.

MagSafe and Qi2: what the difference means
MagSafe is Apple’s branded magnetic system
MagSafe combines a ring of magnets with Apple’s charging and accessory requirements. Belkin defines MagSafe as Apple’s branded magnetic system. For iPhone 12 through iPhone 15, Belkin’s current table lists MagSafe charging at up to 15W when the phone and charger support it.
“Up to 15W” is a ceiling, not a promise that every session reaches that rate. The iPhone can reduce power because of temperature, battery level, software, alignment or the power adapter feeding the charger. A case that does not contain a compatible magnetic ring can also weaken the connection or move the coil out of alignment.
Qi2 is an open magnetic standard
Qi2 is the Wireless Power Consortium’s open standard using magnetic alignment adopted from Apple’s MagSafe magnet design. A Qi2 label therefore describes a charging standard, but it does not automatically prove Apple certification or a particular wattage.

The 25W products are positioned for iPhone 16 and later, while the exact output available to an earlier iPhone depends on that phone’s support and the charger’s certification. Read the product listing for your exact iPhone generation before treating a 25W figure as applicable.

Choose a compact phone-only stand
The Anker MagGo A25X1 is the practical choice when your priority is a small stand for one iPhone. It uses Qi2 magnetic alignment and does not include an integrated Apple Watch module, so it occupies less space than a multi-device dock. Confirm its exact output, supported case thickness and whether a wall adapter is in the box for your region.
Choose a desk or bedside dock for iPhone and Apple Watch
The Belkin WIZ020 is designed for a fixed location where both devices charge together. Its official MagSafe phone charger is rated up to 15W, and the phone section adjusts from 0 to 70 degrees. That range lets you set a shallow angle for a bedside table or a more upright angle for a desk. Verify the Apple Watch model support and the package contents in your market.
Choose foldable travel charging
The Twelve South ButterFly 2-in-1 folds to approximately 2.25 × 1 inch, making it the most travel-oriented option in this group. The comparison reports up to 15W MagSafe iPhone charging, a 30W USB-C adapter and international plug adapters. It is suitable when one compact item must charge an iPhone and Apple Watch in hotels or while visiting multiple countries.
Use a passive holder when you already own the puck
Spigen Mag Fit is not a charger. It is a holder and cable organizer for a separately purchased Apple MagSafe puck and power adapter. Select it only if you already have that puck or intentionally plan to buy one. It cannot increase the puck’s output, add Apple Watch charging or replace the adapter.

Anker MagGo Wireless Charger Stand (A25X1)
Best for: a clean, single-phone setup using Qi2.
- What it does: provides magnetic alignment for a Qi2-compatible iPhone and keeps the display elevated.

Because the available specification does not establish a single output figure for A25X1, do not assume that every Anker MagGo listing has the same rating. Check the model number printed on the listing and packaging; similarly named stands can have different capabilities.
Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Dock (WIZ020)
Best for: a permanent charging position for an iPhone and Apple Watch.

Belkin says its Qi2 15W and Qi2 25W stands use magnetic alignment compatible with MagSafe iPhones, but Qi2 25W is aimed at iPhone 16 and later. The WIZ020 model number and the exact regional listing should determine which specification applies.

When evaluating the total cost, include the puck and adapter if you do not already own them. A passive holder can look inexpensive while a complete charger would be simpler for a new setup.
StandBy mode: why the stand’s position matters
StandBy is not activated merely by placing an iPhone near a magnet. According to the iTechGuides comparison, the iPhone must be charging, positioned on its side in landscape orientation and kept stationary. A stand is valuable because it maintains those conditions while leaving the screen visible.

- Connect the stand to an appropriate power adapter and place it on a stable, level surface.
- Attach the iPhone magnetically and rotate it to landscape orientation.
- Make sure the phone is actually charging; look for the charging indicator before waiting for StandBy.
- Leave the phone stationary on the stand. Repeatedly lifting or rotating it can prevent the stationary-position requirement from being met.
- If StandBy does not appear, check that the feature is enabled in the iPhone’s StandBy settings and test again with the case removed.
A stand with a broad, stable base is preferable for StandBy because accidental movement can interrupt the mode. Adjustable designs such as the WIZ020 also let you reduce glare or set the display where you can read it from bed or across a desk.
Compatibility checks before you order
Identify the exact iPhone generation
On the iPhone, open Settings → General → About and note the model name. Use that model when reading the charger’s compatibility table. The distinction between iPhone 12–15 MagSafe output and Qi2 25W products intended for iPhone 16 and later is significant; “works with iPhone” is too vague for a wattage decision.
Check the case and magnetic ring
A case must allow the charging coils to align and must contain a compatible magnetic ring if you expect a strong attachment. Thick, offset, metal or non-magnetic cases can cause intermittent charging, a weak hold or a phone that falls when the stand is tilted. Test the stand with the case removed if you see repeated disconnects.
Separate magnetic attachment from charging
A magnetic holder can support an iPhone without transferring power. Spigen Mag Fit is the explicit example: it organizes an Apple puck but contains no charging electronics. For every other listing, look for a stated charging standard, output and required adapter rather than assuming that a magnet means wireless charging.
Confirm what is in the box
Included cables and adapters vary by model and region. The ButterFly comparison reports a 30W USB-C adapter and international plug adapters; the available A25X1 comparison does not establish whether a power adapter is included. A missing adapter can turn a planned bedside installation into an extra purchase.
How to set up a new stand
- Match the model number. Confirm that the listing says A25X1, WIZ020, ButterFly 2-in-1 or Mag Fit, rather than relying on a similar product photo.
- Prepare power. Use the supplied adapter when one is included. Otherwise use an adapter whose output meets the charger’s requirement; do not assume an old low-power USB adapter will deliver the advertised rate.
- Clear the mounting area. Remove coins, cards and other metal objects from the charging surface and keep the base on a flat, non-slippery desk or nightstand.
- Fit the case. Use a case with a compatible magnetic ring. If alignment is uncertain, perform the first test without a case.
- Attach and observe. Center the iPhone on the magnetic surface and wait for the charging indicator. A connection that repeatedly starts and stops needs troubleshooting before normal use.
- Set the viewing angle. For an adjustable dock, choose an angle that keeps the phone centered and readable. Avoid stretching the hinge or forcing a position outside its specified range.
- Add the watch. On a 2-in-1 stand, place the Apple Watch on its charging surface and confirm its charging symbol independently from the iPhone.
- Test overnight behavior. Leave the setup in its intended location for a short trial. Check that the phone remains attached, the base does not creep and both devices continue charging after the screen sleeps.
Troubleshooting common problems
The iPhone connects and disconnects
- Remove the case and retest to rule out thickness or a misaligned magnetic ring.
- Re-center the phone so the charging coils meet; a strong magnet does not guarantee coil alignment.
- Inspect the cable and adapter, then try the adapter recommended for the stand.
- Move metal cards, wallets and other accessories away from the back of the phone.
Charging is slower than expected
- Check whether the charger is official MagSafe, Qi2 15W, Qi2 25W or simply a passive holder.
- Match the expected rate to the iPhone generation. Belkin lists up to 15W MagSafe for iPhone 12–15 and positions Qi2 25W for iPhone 16 and later.
- Confirm that the adapter can supply the charger’s requirement and that the phone is not hot.
- Remember that “up to” figures are maximums under suitable conditions, not a constant rate throughout a charge.
StandBy does not appear
- Ensure the phone is charging, in landscape orientation and stationary.
- Check StandBy settings on the iPhone.
- Use a stable base and avoid touching or rotating the phone during the test.
- Try without the case if the phone is not sitting squarely on the magnetic surface.
The Apple Watch does not charge
- Verify that the product is a 2-in-1 model. A25X1 and Spigen Mag Fit do not provide an integrated watch charger.
- Place the watch directly on its charging module and look for its charging indicator.
- Check that the dock is receiving power; phone charging alone does not prove every module is powered.
The phone slips when the stand is tilted
- Use a case with a compatible magnetic ring or remove the case for comparison.
- Clean dust or residue from the phone and charger surfaces.
- Reduce the viewing angle and place the base on a more stable surface.
- If the product is a passive puck holder, verify that the puck is seated fully in the holder before attaching the phone.
Which option should you buy?
- Pick Anker A25X1 when you want the smallest complete Qi2-style phone stand and do not need Apple Watch charging. Verify its output and adapter contents first.
- Pick Belkin WIZ020 when your iPhone and Apple Watch belong on one permanent desk or bedside dock and you want an adjustable 0–70-degree phone section with official MagSafe charging.
- Pick Twelve South ButterFly when luggage space matters, you charge an iPhone and Apple Watch together and the reported 30W adapter and international plugs fit your travel needs.
- Pick Spigen Mag Fit only when an Apple MagSafe puck and adapter are already in your possession or are deliberately part of the budget.
