Choose Vibes for visual discovery and remixing
Vibes is useful when seeing examples helps unlock a direction. Meta announced it on September 25, 2025 as an AI-video feed with creation and remix tools and sharing to Stories and Reels. It is therefore more naturally a source of visual inspiration or a starting point for video experimentation than a text-based brainstorming assistant. Meta describes Vibes as making it easier to find creative inspiration and experiment with its media tools; that is a vendor description, not a performance guarantee.
Consider Edits Assistant if account context matters
Android Central reported on October 1, 2026 that Instagram Edits Assistant was rolling out with a free daily usage limit and could use account metrics and trending topics to help research concepts. This may be useful if you want suggestions informed by your own audience signals rather than only a general prompt. Because this information comes from a dated secondary report, treat access, features, and limits as subject to change and verify them in-app.

How to prompt AI for better Reel ideas
A useful request gives the assistant enough information to distinguish your content from generic suggestions. Specify the audience, subject, goal, tone, format, and practical constraints. Meta’s guidance also calls out visual direction—such as lighting, color palette, emotional register, and aesthetic references—as useful prompt context.
- Set the brief. Name the audience, topic, objective, brand voice, and what you can realistically film.
- Ask for a batch of distinct concepts. Request a hook, central premise, visual action, and payoff or question for each idea.
- Request controlled variations. Ask for alternate tones or formats while keeping the same audience and objective.
- Plan the work if needed. Specify a time period, posting cadence, suggested days, and workflow stages when asking for a calendar.
- Review before creating. Check factual claims, originality, rights, fit with your voice, and whether the concept is feasible to make.
This structure is a practical way to organize a brainstorm, not a tested formula for performance.
