Virginia Tech wide receiver Ayden Greene was reported off the ACC availability report ahead of the Hokies’ game against Pittsburgh. RotoWire’s Oct. 1 report identifies that game as Friday, Oct. 2, 2026—not Saturday—and does not establish whether Greene ultimately played. RotoWire
What the availability report said
RotoWire reported on Oct. 1, 2026, that Greene was off the ACC availability report before Virginia Tech’s game against Pittsburgh. That designation indicated he was available; it is not confirmation that he took part in the game. RotoWire did not identify his injury. RotoWire’s report
Why the headline says Saturday
RotoWire’s headline used the wording “Available for Saturday,” but its story body described the Pittsburgh game as Friday, Oct. 2, 2026. The date in the body conflicts with the headline’s weekday. The game has since passed, and the reviewed reports do not confirm Greene’s actual participation. RotoWire
What was reported before the update
A Sept. 30 report from Virginia Tech On SI said Greene practiced Wednesday and had been designated probable. It reported that head coach James Franklin expected him back for Pittsburgh. This is a secondary account of Franklin’s remarks, not a verified direct quote. Virginia Tech On SI
