Its built-in speakers offer a convenient starting point, not discrete surround: for a true 5.1.2 room setup, add external speakers, such as AWOL’s documented wireless system. Dolby Vision support and a compatible UST screen round out the picture, but the projector’s premium price makes room size, screen choice, and audio ambitions important parts of the decision.
What the AWOL Vision LTV-3500 Pro offers
The LTV-3500 Pro is AWOL Vision’s premium LTV-family 4K ultra-short-throw (UST) projector. ProjectorCentral lists a 3840×2160 resolution, 3,000 ISO lumens, a 0.25:1 throw ratio, and a published image range of 79.86 to 150.35 inches. Those are listed specifications, not independent measurements. Its page also lists a $5,499 street price, which can change; check current pricing before buying. ProjectorCentral specifications and pricing.
RGB triple-laser projection and a very large potential image make it a fit for a dedicated home theater or a living room where a conventional projector’s long throw would be awkward. The short throw does not eliminate setup work: the screen must be sized for the available wall and projector placement.
AWOL’s support documentation puts the LTV-3500 Pro, LTV-3000 Pro, and LTV-2500 in one manual, which provides a model-family setup reference. AWOL Vision user manuals.

Atmos decoding is not the same as surround speakers
What Hi-Fi reports a 36W, two-channel built-in sound system with Dolby Atmos decoding and DTS Virtual:X; TechRadar also describes the 36W system and these formats. What Hi-Fi’s LTV-3500 Pro review and TechRadar’s LTV-3500 Pro review. Decoding means the projector can process supported sound formats; two built-in speakers do not create the same placement, separation, or overhead effects as a system with discrete speakers around and above the listening position.

How to add real 5.1.2 surround sound
For distinct front, center, surround, and height channels, connect external audio equipment. Projector Reviews says the projector supports 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos/DTS:X decoding and can pair with AWOL Vision’s True Wireless 5.1.2CH Dolby Atmos Home Theater Sound System. The manual mirror documents connecting external speakers through HDMI. Projector Reviews’ LTV-3500 Pro review and LTV-3500 Pro manual mirror.
- Decide whether you need convenience or discrete channels. Use the built-in system for a simple setup; choose an external 5.1.2 system if you want separate surround and height speakers.
- Plan the signal path. The manual mirror documents external-speaker connection through HDMI. Confirm that your source, projector, and audio system support the formats and connections you intend to use.
- Place and configure the external speakers. A 5.1.2 system uses five ear-level channels, a subwoofer, and two height channels. Follow the sound system’s placement and calibration instructions; the projector’s format decoding alone does not supply those speakers.
What screen works with an ultra-short-throw projector?
A UST-compatible ambient-light-rejecting (ALR) screen is a sensible choice if the room has daylight or other ambient light. What Hi-Fi discusses AWOL’s optional ALR screen in its review. What Hi-Fi’s LTV-3500 Pro review. ALR describes a screen designed to reject some ambient light; it does not make a bright room equivalent to a dark theater.

- Bright Room Ready, no Curtains Needed: 3,300 ISO Lumens of RGB triple-laser brightness delivers a vivid, color-accurate image in living rooms with ambient light, open-plan spaces, and soft daytime light — without blackout curtains or a dark room. 110% Rec.2020 color gamut produces lifelike greens, accurate skin tones, and saturated colors that LED TVs and lamp projectors cannot physically reproduce. Whether it's a family movie afternoon, a daytime sports match, or everyday streaming — the Aetherion Max laser tv performs in your room, as it is.
- Deep Blacks, Vivid Highlights: Powered by Noirscene System II, the Aetherion Max's industry-leading 7-level IRIS and EBL algorithm deliver up to 6,000:1 native contrast and 60,000:1 viewing contrast — making dark scenes look deeper and shadow detail sharper whether the lights are on or off. With Dolby Vision, Dolby Vision Gaming, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG, and Dynamic Tone Mapping, bright highlights stay balanced and low-light scenes keep their depth — so every movie and every game feels more cinematic at home.
- Staduim-scale Gaming and Sports: 1ms-class input latency at 240Hz keeps every frame sharp — whether you're deep in a competitive match or watching 90 minutes of live soccer on a 150-inch screen, fast-moving action stays blur-free and responsive. VRR, ALLM, and Dolby Vision Gaming deliver console and PC performance without compromise — connect PS5, Xbox Series X, and gaming PC simultaneously via 3× HDMI 2.1a and DisplayPort 1.4a, no cable switching needed. Native 24/48/50FPS with MEMC preserves cinematic motion for movies and sports broadcasts. Every sprint, every shot, every last-minute goal — stadium-scale, at home.
- Watch Longer, Feel Less Fatigue: Industry-first Anti-RBE technology reduces 99.99% of rainbow-effect distractions in both 2D and 3D content — a level of eye comfort no other UST projector currently offers. TÜV-certified Harmful Light Reduction delivers a cleaner, gentler picture for all-day viewing — movie marathons, full match days, and back-to-back gaming sessions included. The Aetherion Max is built for the moments that bring everyone together, and built to last as long as those moments do.
- THE LIVING ROOM UPGRADE THAT FITS YOUR LIVING ROOM — 0.2:1 ultra-short throw ratio sits inches from the wall, no ceiling mount, no professional installation, setup complete in minutes. At 200 inches, it delivers a screen 6× larger than an 85-inch TV — at a fraction of the wall space. Pair with an ALR screen for clear, high-contrast images even under direct overhead lighting. Consumes up to 500kWh less electricity per year than a comparable large-screen TV based on 4 hours daily use — the display that pays for itself over time. This is the all-in-one laser TV replacement for modern living rooms.
Choose a screen designed for UST projection and match its size to both your wall and the projector’s listed 79.86–150.35-inch image range. Before ordering, verify the screen’s UST compatibility and the manufacturer’s placement guidance. A screen near the upper end of the range may not suit every room or viewing distance.

Is the LTV-3500 Pro worth it?
It is most compelling if you want a large 4K image from a UST setup, value Dolby Vision, and plan to use either its convenient built-in audio or a separate surround system. Its Dolby Atmos decoding should not be mistaken for a complete surround-speaker package, and a UST-compatible screen may be an additional part of the setup. Compare the current projector price plus screen and audio costs against the lower-priced LTV-family models before deciding.
