Neither extension has a documented, comparable maximum page height, so there is no evidence-based universal winner for capturing longer pages. GoFullPage says it splits an oversized capture into images in separate tabs. Awesome Screenshot offers a local multi-image download or a PDF, and says cloud saving produces one complete file for most pages—but very long pages can still be incomplete. Choose based on the format and fallback you need, then test exceptionally long or unusual pages on the actual site.
How each extension handles an oversized page
Both extensions make full-page captures by scrolling beyond the initially visible area. Their official documentation describes different ways of dealing with captures that become too large; it does not establish which one can capture more page height.
GoFullPage: split an oversized capture into images
GoFullPage says that when a page is too large for Chrome to store in one image, it alerts you and splits the capture into images in separate tabs. Its Chrome Web Store listing describes PNG, JPEG and PDF paper-size options. The listing also describes support for inner scrollable elements and embedded iframes; these are vendor-described capabilities, not independent test results. Awesome Screenshot: choose local images, PDF or cloud
Awesome Screenshot’s support documentation says very long screenshots saved locally may be cut off. If that happens, its “Download all” option provides multiple image files; PDF is its single-file option. Cloud saving can produce one complete file for most webpages, but the support article cautions that extremely long pages may still be incomplete and recommends switching to local saving in that case. For unusually long pages, animated or lazy-loaded content, or complex scrolling layouts, capture the same fully loaded page with the intended extension and inspect the output. Check whether content farther down the page appeared and whether each nested scroll region was captured. This is a practical evaluation method, not a published head-to-head test.

Capture failures that are not a fair length test
Chrome restricts extension access to some browser-controlled pages. Awesome Screenshot says full-page and selected-area capture are unavailable on pages where Chrome policy blocks extension scripts, including browser settings, the Chrome Web Store and other extensions. A failure there does not show that an extension cannot capture a normal webpage of the same length. Awesome Screenshot suggests visible-area or entire-screen capture as workarounds, but neither establishes full-page capture capacity. Read Awesome Screenshot’s explanation of restricted pages.
