Atlassian’s September 15, 2026 security bulletin identifies affected Bamboo, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Crowd releases and lists fixed versions for Data Center. If your deployment is in an affected range, upgrade to the latest available release or a fixed version listed for your product and branch. The version examples below reflect the bulletin as of September 15, 2026; check Atlassian’s current Vulnerability Disclosure Portal and release notes before scheduling an upgrade.
What Atlassian’s September bulletin says
Atlassian reported that product versions released in the preceding month fixed 144 high-severity vulnerabilities and 17 critical-severity third-party vulnerabilities. The September 15 bulletin covers Bamboo, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Crowd Data Center and Server. Atlassian says it identifies vulnerabilities through its bug-bounty program, penetration testing, and third-party library scans.
Atlassian’s guidance is to patch instances to the latest version or to one of the fixed versions listed for each product. The bulletin also cautions that a product-specific risk assessment can differ from an upstream CVSS score, particularly for vulnerabilities in third-party dependencies.
Which versions are affected, and what versions fix them?
The table gives the affected-range examples and fixed-version examples stated in the September 15, 2026 bulletin. The listed fixed examples are for Data Center; do not assume that the same release numbers or fix availability apply to Server.

A version not shown here is not automatically safe: compare your exact build with Atlassian’s current disclosure information and release notes. The September table was current on September 15, 2026, and later releases or advisories may change the appropriate target.
Are the vulnerabilities critical?
Some are critical, but the bulletin covers multiple vulnerabilities with different severity levels and impacts. It lists critical Netty man-in-the-middle vulnerabilities in Confluence, CVE-2026-45674 and CVE-2026-47691, each with CVSS 10, and a critical Netty dependency remote-code-execution issue in Bamboo, CVE-2026-75595, with CVSS 9.1.

It also lists high-severity authentication, authorization, server-side request forgery (SSRF), cross-site request forgery (CSRF), denial-of-service, file-inclusion, and dependency remote-code-execution issues across Bitbucket and Crowd. A CVSS score describes a vulnerability’s severity under that scoring system; Atlassian notes that the risk it assigns to a product can be lower than the upstream score. Administrators should use the product advisory and affected-version information rather than treating one score as the risk level for every deployment.
How to check whether your instance needs a patch
- Inventory the installation. Record the exact product, full version/build, and deployment type: Server or Data Center. Check every relevant environment, including staging and any secondary or disaster-recovery instance.
- Match the build to the advisory. Compare the recorded version with the affected ranges for that product in Atlassian’s September bulletin. Check the current Vulnerability Disclosure Portal as well, since the bulletin’s table reflects its September 15 publication date.
- Choose a supported target. Select the latest release or a fixed version appropriate to the deployed branch. Confirm that the target applies to your deployment type and review its release notes; the fixed examples in the table are Data Center releases.
- Validate the upgrade plan. Test the selected upgrade in staging, review application and integration compatibility, and follow your organization’s backup, maintenance-window, and rollback procedures.
- Verify after upgrading. Confirm the installed version on each instance and recheck the current advisory information for any newly disclosed issue or superseding fixed release.
How LTS status affects the upgrade choice
A fixed release can address the listed vulnerabilities without being the best long-term destination for every installation. Check both whether a fixed version is available for your branch and how long that branch remains supported. Atlassian’s end-of-life policy lists these support dates for the LTS branches cited in the bulletin:

The same policy lists near-term expirations for other branches, including Confluence 9.1 on October 3, 2026 and Crowd 6.1 on September 27, 2026. Those dates are relevant when deciding whether to apply a branch-level fix or plan a move to a longer-supported branch. Confirm dates in the current policy before making a lifecycle decision.

Atlassian also published a July 21, 2026 bulletin covering dependency vulnerabilities in these products, illustrating that security advisories recur. A September upgrade resolves only the issues addressed by the release selected; it does not remove the need to monitor subsequent bulletins and maintain a patching process.
