For the Astro A50 Gen 4, use Astro Command Center, not the software instructions for newer A50 models. Check and report the headset firmware and base station firmware separately: they are different version numbers. Historical notes document fixes for Xbox audio and communication, saved settings, volume, microphone quality, and the LED display, but the newest entry located is from 2020 and does not establish today’s latest firmware.
Which software updates the Astro A50 Gen 4?
Logitech G lists Astro Command Center for the A50 Gen 4 on Windows and Mac. The same software page lists G HUB for the A50 Gen 5 and A50 X LIGHTSPEED, so do not apply those newer models’ instructions to a Gen 4 headset. Check the current Astro Series Software & Download page for the available download and supported products.
Confirm that your headset is Gen 4 before following update guidance. Logitech G lists separate Xbox and PlayStation variants: the Xbox variant is listed for Xbox Series X|S and PC/Mac; the PlayStation variant is listed for PS4 and PC/Mac, with an HDMI adapter noted for PS5 compatibility. These platform distinctions matter because some historical firmware notes describe Xbox-specific fixes, not a universal change for every variant. How to check your Command Center and firmware versions
Record three separate values when troubleshooting or asking for help. The application version is not a firmware version, and the headset and base station each have their own firmware number.

- Check the model and platform variant. Confirm that the headset is an A50 Gen 4 and note whether it is the Xbox or PlayStation version.
- Open Astro Command Center. Use the version Logitech G lists for Gen 4 on Windows or Mac, rather than assuming G HUB instructions for A50 Gen 5 or A50 X apply.
- Review the update prompt in your installed app. Follow the current on-screen instructions if Command Center offers an update. The sources cited here do not establish a current Gen 4 firmware version pair or an official current update walkthrough.
- If the app does not update, avoid relying on old firmware files by default. A December 2019 Astro support thread describes a Settings > Update Firmware Manually route for users who could not receive an update through the Windows or Mac utility at that time. That historical procedure is not confirmation that its old file or workflow is suitable now. Check current Logitech G software guidance or contact current Logitech support before manually installing firmware.

The August 2020 pair in the archive is the newest dated entry there, not a verified current release. Check Logitech G’s current product and software support information for present-day availability rather than treating that historical entry as an update recommendation.
