Then use that generation’s software, check Dolby Access and your Atmos entitlement, select an Atmos-capable output, and test Atmos-supported content. A50 models do not all use the same software or connection path.
1. Identify your A50 generation, platform version, and device
Check the headset, base station, product box, or model details to identify the generation and whether a console model is the Xbox or PlayStation version. These distinctions affect compatibility, software, and how spatial audio is set up.

2. Install the software for that generation
Use Logitech’s Astro Series Software & Download page to find the official software for your headset. Logitech lists Astro Command Center for A50 Gen 3 and Gen 4, and G HUB for A50 Gen 5 and A50 X. Choosing software for a different generation can send you down the wrong setup path; do not configure a Gen 4 through G HUB simply because newer A50 models use it.

3. Check Dolby Access and whether you have an Atmos entitlement
Dolby’s setup guidance directs A50 users to Dolby Access for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10/11 PC. See Dolby’s A50 compatibility page for its supported platforms and setup direction. Dolby describes the app as the place to start setup for Dolby Atmos for Headphones; its Xbox guidance says: “Download the Dolby Access app on your Xbox console to start your free trial of Dolby Atmos for Headphones, set up a Dolby-enabled device or adjust audio and image settings.” Read the current Dolby Xbox guidance for the app and offer details.
If Dolby Access asks you to buy Atmos, check that your headset is the Xbox-compatible variant and that you are signed into the account associated with your entitlement. Logitech’s Gen 4 product page describes a free two-year activation code for the Xbox version only. That offer does not establish that a used or refurbished headset has an unused code, or that every previously redeemed or migrated license will behave the same way. If your account or code still does not activate, contact Dolby or Microsoft support with the account and purchase details rather than assuming the headset is defective.

4. Confirm Atmos output and test Atmos-capable content
For Atmos playback, Dolby lists four prerequisites: a playback device that supports Atmos, Atmos output enabled, connected audio hardware, and content encoded for Atmos. Its setup guide also cautions that settings vary by device model. Consult the instructions for your specific console, Windows version, and A50 rather than relying on a universal menu sequence. Dolby’s Atmos setup guide explains these prerequisites.
- Make sure the A50 is connected to the device you are using and is selected as the active audio output.
- Check that the device’s spatial-audio or headphone output is set to Dolby Atmos where that option is supported.
- Test with content that supports Atmos. Stereo content may play normally without demonstrating Atmos, so its sound alone is not proof that the feature is enabled or broken.
If Atmos is unavailable as an output choice, revisit compatibility, the connection path, and Dolby Access before changing unrelated headset settings.

5. Follow the A50 X connection path, not Gen 4 instructions
A50 X uses a distinct platform connection scheme. Logitech describes Xbox Dolby Atmos through HDMI 2.1 and PC/Mac Atmos or Windows Sonic through USB-C. For PS5, Logitech names 3D Audio rather than Dolby Atmos. A missing Atmos option on PS5 should therefore not be diagnosed by applying Xbox Atmos setup instructions. Check the A50 X product guidance for the intended connection and audio format for your platform.

If the correct software, entitlement, output, connection, and Atmos-capable content do not resolve the issue, use Logitech’s official Astro software and support routes for your exact model. The official setup information does not establish one universal A50 hard-reset or firmware-recovery sequence for Atmos failures. Avoid button combinations, firmware recovery steps, or factory resets intended for another generation; follow only model-specific Logitech instructions.
