If a payment for DataStax Astra Streaming failed in India, sign in to the DataStax account that provisioned the service and check its displayed billing status, credits, and saved payment method. The official guidance identifies exhausted credits and an invalid or failed card as relevant billing issues, but does not publish an India-specific payment recovery flow or current console navigation. Also check what “subscription” means in your case: a Pulsar topic subscription is a technical messaging configuration, not a paid plan.
First, identify which kind of subscription has a problem
Astra Streaming is DataStax’s cloud event-streaming service, built around Apache Pulsar. DataStax describes it as a service for event streaming, queuing, and publish-subscribe messaging (DataStax pricing page; see also the DataStax Astra provider documentation).
In this context, “subscription” can mean either account billing or a technical subscription to a Pulsar topic. If a payment failed or service access changed, troubleshoot account billing. If an application is not receiving messages, investigate its topic subscription instead; changing a card will not fix a message-consumption configuration. The Astra Streaming API operations documentation covers technical API operations, not billing recovery.
Check billing status and credits in your DataStax account
- Sign in to the DataStax account used to provision Astra Streaming. Check the billing status and credit balance shown for that account or service.
- If the account shows that credits are exhausted, follow the billing or credit controls presented in the account to resolve the issue. DataStax says a database may be temporarily paused when its credits run out.
- Check the saved payment method. Confirm that the card details are current and that the card can make the transaction. If it expired or was declined, update or replace it using the account’s displayed billing controls.
- Review any payment or account notifications from DataStax for the affected service and follow the instructions there. The available public guidance does not establish a single current console path, so use the labels and options shown in your account rather than relying on a guessed menu sequence.
What DataStax says about a failed card
On its Astra pricing page, DataStax says: “You will be notified and will have 30 days to resolve your payment issue or your database may be suspended.” This is the page’s stated guidance for Enterprise plans; it is not a guarantee that the same timeline applies identically to every plan or payment situation. Treat any notice in your own account as the best guide to your service’s status and deadline.

If the service is paused or at risk of suspension, resolve the displayed credit or payment issue promptly. Do not assume that a failed payment has a universal retry schedule: the official material cited here does not specify one.
What is—and is not—established for customers in India
The published DataStax guidance supports checking credits and the validity of the payment card, but it does not establish an India-specific list of accepted payment methods, an RBI rule explanation, or a country-specific recovery process. If the card continues to fail, check the billing options and support route displayed in your DataStax account, or confirm directly with DataStax which payment methods and remedies are available for your account in India. Do not assume that a consumer streaming service’s UPI or autopay instructions apply to Astra Streaming.

If billing looks fine but messages are still not arriving
Separate an account billing failure from a Pulsar topic-subscription problem. If account status and credits do not indicate a billing issue, check the application’s topic subscription and the relevant Astra Streaming API operations documentation. A topic subscription concerns how an application consumes messages; it is not the account’s paid service subscription.
