For the latest quarter reported by both companies, ASML recorded €9.326 billion in total net sales for Q2 2026, while TSMC recorded US$40.20 billion in net revenue. Those figures are reported in different currencies and use different metric labels, so their raw bar heights should not be read as a direct size comparison.

ASML reports its quarterly earnings primarily under US GAAP. TSMC’s official results page labels its figure “net revenue.” Retain those issuer labels rather than implying the metrics or their financial statements are perfectly interchangeable. ASML’s Q2 2026 earnings release and TSMC’s Q2 2026 results provide the reported figures.
How to read a chart with two currencies
A chart that plots euros and US dollars without conversion can show each company’s reported amount, but the bar heights do not share a common monetary scale. Use clearly separated panels or grouped bars with conspicuous currency labels. Do not rank the companies by comparing the unconverted bar lengths.
If the goal is a common-scale visual comparison, convert one or both figures using a stated exchange rate, date, and method. Make clear that conversion changes the chart’s presentation, not the amounts reported by either issuer.

What an eight-quarter chart needs
The filename suggests a possible limit of eight observations, but it does not establish which eight quarters belong in the chart. The verified figures here cover Q2 2026 only; they do not establish a historical eight-quarter series. To publish one, specify the start and end quarters and verify every observation against the relevant issuer’s primary reporting materials. Label each company’s quarter-end convention as well as its metric and currency.
Reporting cutoff
Q2 2026 is the latest common reported period as of October 3, 2026. ASML’s results archive scheduled its Q3 2026 results for October 14, 2026, so Q3 actual revenue was not yet available at that cutoff. ASML’s quarterly-results archive lists the reporting schedule.

ASML’s Q2 commentary
ASML President and CEO Christophe Fouquet said: “Our second-quarter total net sales were €9.3 billion and gross margin came in at 54.0%, both above guidance, driven primarily by higher than expected Installed Base Management sales.” This is management’s explanation of ASML’s result; it does not establish a reason for the difference between ASML’s and TSMC’s reported revenue.

By themselves, they do not show profitability, company valuation, market share, or a causal relationship between the companies. Keep the chart focused on the reported figures and disclose any currency conversion or selection of historical quarters.
