Argos describes its model as “Pricing that scales with usage, not seats.” The public page does not state a per-seat charge or maximum number of team members, so that phrase should not be read as a guarantee of unlimited seats.
What the public pricing page says about private repositories
The page does not spell out a private-repository allowance or repository surcharge for each plan. It describes Hobby as intended for personal projects and Pro as including team collaboration and reviews, but neither description conclusively establishes private-repository eligibility. Do not assume a repository is covered simply because your plan includes a GitHub or GitLab integration.

If private repositories are essential, ask Argos to confirm eligibility for your intended Git provider, plan, and repository setup before subscribing. The same applies to team size: the public materials reviewed do not publish a seat cap or detailed seat-billing policy.
How to estimate a team’s monthly cost
Start with the expected screenshot volume
Compare your expected monthly usage with Pro’s included 35,000 screenshots. If usage exceeds that allowance, the published additional rates are $0.004 per screenshot and $0.0015 per additional Storybook screenshot. Calculate the two types separately rather than applying one rate to all captures. The $100 figure is a starting price, not a stated maximum bill.

Include team and access requirements
Check whether your team needs collaboration and reviews, GitHub SSO, SAML SSO, fine-grained access controls, dedicated support, or an SLA. Pro SSO add-ons are priced separately on the public page; SAML SSO is listed as included in Enterprise. Enterprise pricing is custom, so request a quote rather than estimating from the Pro price.
Keep deployment access separate from repository privacy
Argos separately describes controls for access to deployed previews and sites: previews can require an Argos login on every plan, while Team plans can require login for all deployments, including production. These controls concern access to deployments; they do not establish whether a private source repository is eligible under a particular plan.

Billing terms to check before subscribing
Argos’s Terms of Service say paid self-service subscriptions are billed at the price and billing period displayed at purchase. Unless the purchase states otherwise, subscriptions automatically renew until canceled, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. If included usage is exceeded, additional usage may be charged at the pricing-page rate or another rate agreed at purchase. Prices exclude taxes unless expressly stated otherwise.
Questions to ask Argos before buying
- Does the specific plan cover our private repositories on our GitHub or GitLab setup?
- Is the price affected by the number of users, and is there a maximum team size?
- How does our projected monthly volume split between regular and Storybook screenshots?
- Which SSO option and deployment access controls do we need, and are they included or add-ons?
- For Enterprise, what screenshot volume, support terms, and other requirements will be reflected in the quote?
How Argos’s price compares with vendor-reported alternatives
In an article published August 11, 2026, Argos reported that competitor prices it checked in July 2026 were $179 per month for 35,000 Chromatic snapshots, a cheapest advertised Percy tier of $599 per month, and no published Applitools prices. These are dated figures reported by Argos itself, a vendor with a commercial interest in the comparison; they are not independent verification of those services’ current prices.
