Not on the available evidence alone. HyperX’s Cloud Jet combines 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth 5.3, and the manufacturer lists it for PC, Mac, PS5, PS4, and mobile. Those features may make it worth considering, but the product specifications do not compare it with similarly priced headsets or establish that it is the best budget choice. The answer depends on your platform, connection needs, and the prices of alternatives where you shop.
What the Cloud Jet offers
HyperX describes the Cloud Jet as a closed-back, circumaural wireless headset with 40 mm drivers. Its design includes mesh foam ear cushions, an elastic suspension headband, onboard controls, and a swivel-to-mute boom microphone. These are manufacturer-listed features, not independent findings about sound quality, microphone clarity, or long-session comfort.
The headset supports two wireless connection methods:
- 2.4 GHz: Connect through the included USB Type-A wireless dongle.
- Bluetooth 5.3: Pair with a compatible Bluetooth device, such as a phone.
HyperX lists the Cloud Jet as compatible with PC, Mac, PS5, PS4, and mobile. The reviewed product information does not establish Xbox compatibility, so check with HyperX for confirmation before buying if you need it for an Xbox. See the HyperX US product page and HyperX ROW product page for the manufacturer’s specifications.

Will it work with your setup?
PS5 and PS4
HyperX lists both PS5 and PS4 as compatible. The supplied dongle uses USB Type-A; check your console’s available USB port and connection setup before choosing 2.4 GHz. Bluetooth is also listed as a connection option, but HyperX’s compatibility list does not specify which Bluetooth functions are supported on each console.
PC and Mac
Both are on HyperX’s compatibility list. For the 2.4 GHz connection, plug in the included USB-A dongle. Bluetooth 5.3 is the alternative where your computer supports Bluetooth.

Phones and other Bluetooth devices
HyperX lists mobile compatibility and Bluetooth 5.3, so a compatible phone can connect without the USB dongle. If you want to use the headset for gaming and phone audio, choose the connection that suits the device and use case; the manufacturer’s product information does not describe how simultaneous connections behave.
How long does the battery last?
HyperX states up to 25 hours in A2DP mode and up to 20 hours in Ultra-Low Latency mode. These figures come from the manufacturer’s continuous-playback testing at 50% headphone volume; they are not guaranteed runtimes for every use. HyperX says actual battery life varies with use and that maximum capacity naturally declines with time and use.

Is it the best budget gaming headset?
The available product information is not enough to establish that. HyperX’s pages provide features and specifications, but no head-to-head tests, competitor prices, or independent assessments of sound, microphone performance, comfort, or battery life. A defensible “best budget” recommendation would compare the Cloud Jet with named alternatives at similar current prices in the same market.

Before buying, compare the Cloud Jet with other headsets you can actually purchase at your price point. Focus on the factors that could change your choice:
- Whether each model supports your platform and offers the connection you want.
- Independent sound and microphone assessments, if available.
- Comfort and weight, especially if you plan to wear a headset for long sessions.
- Battery results with the test conditions disclosed, rather than manufacturer maximums alone.
- Controls, setup, and warranty terms.
- Prices checked in the same country and time window.
HyperX’s US product page displayed a $79.99 MSRP and a $49.99 promotional price when retrieved. That page snapshot is not a current or universal price, and it does not prove the Cloud Jet is the cheapest option. Check the live price in your region and compare it with alternatives before deciding. The same US page lists a two-year warranty; confirm the applicable terms for your location.
