The China-market vivo X300 starts at RMB 4,599 for 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage; Apple lists the 256 GB iPhone 17 from RMB 6,799. That makes the iPhone 17 RMB 2,200 more at the official listed starting prices. The X300 has a dedicated telephoto camera and faster listed charging, while the iPhone 17 offers Apple’s 4K Dolby Vision video specification and runs iOS 26. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not results from side-by-side testing.

Specifications and China-market prices are from Apple’s iPhone 17 technical specifications, Apple’s launch announcement, and vivo’s X300 product specifications, camera details, battery specifications, and China price listing. Prices are official listed figures accessed October 5, 2026, not a comparison of local retail or street prices elsewhere.
How the camera systems differ
vivo X300: a dedicated telephoto camera
The X300’s China-market listing specifies three rear cameras: a 200 MP main camera, a 50 MP APO telephoto camera and a 50 MP ultrawide. Its telephoto camera is listed with 3× optical zoom and up to 100× digital zoom. That gives it a dedicated telephoto lens rather than relying on the iPhone 17’s main-camera system for its described 2× telephoto framing.
iPhone 17: 48 MP main and ultrawide cameras, with Dolby Vision video
Apple lists 48 MP main and ultrawide rear cameras, optical-quality 2× telephoto framing, and 4K Dolby Vision recording up to 60 frames per second. The listed pixel counts and lens arrangement describe hardware and features; they do not prove which phone takes better photos or video. No side-by-side camera test is established by these specifications.

Display, battery and charging
Both phones have nearly the same listed display size and support refresh rates up to 120 Hz. vivo gives the X300 a slightly higher stated resolution, but resolution alone does not establish which screen looks better. Apple publishes a 3,000-nit outdoor peak brightness figure; the inspected X300 specification page does not provide a directly comparable peak-brightness value.
The battery figures are expressed differently and should not be treated as a matched endurance result. vivo lists the X300’s typical battery capacity as 6040 mAh and charging at 90 W wired or 40 W wireless. Apple instead claims up to 30 hours of iPhone 17 video playback and up to 50% charge in 20 minutes when using a suitable high-power USB-C adapter. Capacity, charging wattage and a vendor playback estimate do not substitute for independent testing under the same conditions.

Which phone makes more sense for you?
- Consider the X300 if the China-market listed price, a dedicated 3× optical telephoto camera, or the stated wired and wireless charging rates are priorities—and if its China-market software and network support suit your needs.
- Consider the iPhone 17 if you prefer iOS 26, Apple’s ecosystem, or the listed 4K Dolby Vision video capability.
- Compare your local purchase options before deciding: the RMB 2,200 difference applies to the official China-market starting prices, not necessarily prices in your country or current retail offers.
- For battery life or image quality, look for comparable independent tests. The manufacturer specifications cited here do not establish real-world endurance or a camera-quality winner.
Important note if you import the China-market X300
The X300 specifications cited here are for the China-market variant, which lists dual nano-SIM and regional network bands. vivo notes that network capabilities depend on carrier deployment and software version. Before importing, check that the phone supports your carrier’s bands and services, and confirm warranty coverage and software region for your location. Apple announced iPhone 17 on September 10, 2025, with China sales beginning September 19; vivo’s product page identifies the X300 launch month as October 2025.
